ST Andy Serkis (Supreme Leader Snoke) in Episode VII

Maybe the need for the use of cgi lies in the need for special skin effects that can't be realized with make up...

Where is this coming from?? I'm having trouble finding why this image was created and for who. Can someone enlighten me as to DevianArt's connection to Star Wars?

 

Maybe Snoke is a shape shifter....

 

Could be possible. Maybe that's the reason he hasn't any problems working together with ex-imperials.

I'm just trying to figure out why he'd need to be a digital character (not that I have an issue with digital characters), but I would have much rather had Serkis just play it in costume. I can only assume that he (Snoke) is like Sauron and perhaps takes on multiple forms??? Perhaps he's a liquid or something?

 

I wonder if they will tease his appearance in the Trailer. I hope so - at the moment we have very little upon which to form decent speculation re Snoke. At least a glimpse would open debate up a little more interestingly.

I hope so. That's he has in no shape or form appeared in any material, suggests that he'll very much be a mysterious figure in TFA, in a similar vein to Sidious (TPM)... something backed up by MSW spoilers.

 

You know, Snoke might not have a complex face. He might just be too small (Yoda, Maz Kanata size) or too big (rivals Chewbacca or larger) to find a decent actor or puppet to portray him.

 

Quite possibly.

We saw + heard Darth Sidious in The Phantom Menace trailer. (In fact, that's where many of us started to theorise that Darth Sidious = Palpatine).

 

You know I actually genuinely like that idea. Gungans are so universally hated that I want the ST to take that as a challenge and make a gungan the fandom likes. Bring out ze zombie gungan general.

That's the thing. They could pull off the mask thing way back in the day, nevermind nowadays. That's why I'm not buying that he is an alien. I still think the sickly look will play a part of who he is and where he came from, because that would be harder to pull off, especially if he's morbid looking. And of course I'm referring to Serkis's appearance in real life. Had he been someone that was extremely skinny in stature, then it wouldn't be that big of a problem doing it without cgi.

 

True - it wouldn't surprise me if he was very large (7 foot range possibly). I would be very surprised if he was small however since he is the baddie.

 

I bet the only thing about Snoke in the trailer is his voice with Kylo Ren kneeling in front of his hologram. It will be at an angle you won't actually see the hologram though.

 

The usual leak sites which are wrong the vast majority of the time just have Kylo Ren kneeling but no actual footage showing Snoke himself which is disappointing if there is any truth to it.

 

I think it was Reddit where I saw a post by someone claiming to havr seen Snoke, and the description was tbat he was like a fluidy, smokey texture, and almost metalic like T2 in a way. We'll see eventualy.

 

Really? The description I saw mentioned a skeletal zombie like figure.

We really don't know much about Snoke, do we?

 

No not much at all, whether it be in regards to his appearance, origin, objectives or really anything else. And I don't think we will know much more after tonight. It's extremely unlikely that secrecy surrounding Luke and Snoke was merely done to set up a reveal in a trailer. They'd either be marketing them and capitalizing on that, or saving them for the film. And even more likely, they'll be saving much of their role for VIII and IX.

 

No but I would trust @MSW the most probably and think there is something to that Count Snake Dracula concept art he was shown of Snoke.

 

You watch. Snoke will be Andy Serkis with a bunch of white dots on his face.

 

Well Snoke is just one letter away from Snake. So if Count Snake Dracula is Snoke, that leaves us with C-A-U-N-T-D-R-A-C-U-L-A. Hmm, we lack and H for a Darth or another E for Ren.

 

I've got my money on the Snake look.
