I wonder who Snoke is talking to when he asks about the awakening. My guess is Kylo.

 

could it still be prisoner Luke? Why to tell Kylo about awakening of dark and light? Kylo is immune to the light, so he won't care.

 

Believe it or not, my mention of a Muun was not meant to rehash any Plaguies debate. I was only referring to the idea, jokingly, that if a Muun cant be scary, neither can those cute little squid guys you posted...

 

I'd be surprised if Luke and Snoke have any scenes together in this movie.

 

The Rakata seem like something out of a nightmare. The Muuns look like my skinny neighbor.

I am hoping though that if there is an "ancient" kind of enemy appearing in the ST, it's a civilization of beings and not just some specially wrapped in plastic Sith Lord that's been "waiting" in a little box for their special release. You know, a deus ex machina Sith Lord.

 

Well, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu did report to Kermit the Dwarf, so it won`t be much of a shock.

 

Snoke looks like a Velociraptor. lol

 

They did hire Colin Trevorrow.

Note the species based on the Velociraptor. With a homeworld in the Outer Rim (where the First Order is based according to MSW), home to numerous weapons manufacturing facilities (including several TaggeCo factories), with a reputation as businessmen and assassins, known for focusing solely on success, tackling problems with a detached and calculating approach; for preferring subterfuge over overt physical approaches when solving disputes. The kind of world and species that would thrive on Imperial Military contracts and would be sad to see it go.

 

That is a very interesting coincidence. But it's basically an effing Velociraptor in space. And again, that design isn't something I would consider threatening or scary. Maybe my mind is set on the idea that a powerful old Sith has to resemble Palps; An old space goth who is creepy as hell.

 

and I thought Mark Hamill turning into a bug was creepy.

There is an episode of Star Trek that involved talking dinosaurs that evolved on Earth. See a picture of them, they look daft, think of the idea, it sounds daft. Yet it's one of the best episodes of Star Trek in my opinion.
Snoke is not a snake, but I think he could well be a "funny looking" alien species that many will scoff at. It's knee jerk reaction and many cannot overcome that initial knee jerk, that's their opinion for life.

 

I don't think Snoke is going to be funny looking at all. I think his name, which I still don't care for, is throwing everyone off.

 

Snoke is only a funny name if he is human. Aliens aren't called Bob and Steve

 

Uhhh why is everybody saying/reacting like this is the final design? It's clearly not.
