It's no problem. Learning more about Japan is an endeavor I highly encourage.

I thought as much, damn phonetics.

And thanks for the lesson in honorifics. I was going to ask soon myself.

I hate last page syndrom. That is the last post on the last page, but it disappears most of the time.

I've another question Anime DVD's released in Japan, is it just in Japanese or do they include a western language as a subtitle option?

Bah again I'm annoying people questions :p Oh well ;)

I haven't heard anything about a second season of RahXephon, and frankly I don't see how there could be. The ending was pretty conclusive.

As far as I know, most Japanese DVDs contain only Japanese language tracks, with a minority of them carrying English subtitles.

Uhm actually it would. You see West Europe and Japan share the same region and the last time I checked UK and Ireland are a part of West Europe ;)
So for me it would make a lot of sense. Alas no sub titles in an European, oh well worth the try :)

True, oh well just bunch of rumours I should have ignored.

I've just got to mention something. Apparently Ojamajo Doremi has been licensed for broadcast on the "Fox Box" programming block. That alone is pretty dumbfounding, considering how badly previous shoujo series such as Escaflowne have bombed, but here's a quote from 4Kids' CEO:

"The designs are pretty so they appeal to girls, but the characters are very sexy so boys like them. We're hoping to mix and match the block's gender appeal."

Excuse me? They're hoping young, pre-teen boys will watch the show for its "sexy" character designs? Does that strike anyone else as a bit, well, wrong? And I wonder who he's talking about? All of the main characters are elementary school age...

Now, I've seen the show, and, as shoujo tends to be, it is very "girlie" (for lack of a better term). There's not a lot for boys to grab onto, despite the CEO's ignorant statements. I doubt even butchering it like Card Captor Sakura (another U.S. broadcast failure) would help, as there's no strong, male lead.

You know, what Cartoon Network does suddenly seems a whole lot more reasonable to me.

Yeah, all CN does is dub and the minimal edits needed to get the show on TV (Accept for DBZ, and that's more Funimation at work than anything else)

This sounds like it's gonna be bad. Here we go again into edit land. :(

Edit: I just did a Google Image search on the show, what is that CEO on that makes him think guys, expecial youngin's will find those girls "sexy." ?[face_plain]

Sir, thank you for setting back American acceptance of unedited anime by 2 years.

EditX2: The FLCL Manga is released by Tokypop. They edited the hell out of Initial D. I don't want to give them money, but it's FLCL for gods sake! :( :_|

Love Hina is a comedy about a ronin Keitaro who is kicked out of his house for his bad Tokyo U. entery exams (I don't know about you, but I'm sure more people don't get in there than do). He goes to live with his granny but finds out that its an all-girls dorm and he is the new landlord!! VERY funny!!! I don't know about GTO...something about a biker-teacher....

GTO (stands for "Great Teacher Onizuka") is the story of "Onizuka Eikichi, nijuuni-sai," as he always refers to himself. ("Nijuuni-sai" means "twenty-two years old.") An ex-biker gang member, he decides to become a teacher mostly so he can hang around beautiful high-school girls. However, he ends up teaching the worst class at Holy Forest Academy. At that school, he gets into many hilarious escapades, many of which involve student pranks, bizarre costumes, and the destruction of the principle's expensive car. (Or was that the vice principal? I'm not sure, since I've only seen a little bit of the anime.)

I've seen the first episode of Naruto, it's not bad. The first episode had basicly everything, action, drama, comedy, romance (well it consist of one girl having a crush on Naruto) and a major plot twist :p

I'm also currently rewatching Rurouni Kenshin fansubbed. Not bad :)

A question for you all: Does the thought of an ultra realistic, ultra styalized japanese made Star Wars cartoon make anybody else drool?

Seeing commercials for the Clone Wars toon just has me thinking what could be. And that is making me mentally drool.

Naruto is great! One of my current favorites. It is pretty typical shounen, however, so it does take forever to do anything, and you get fights lasting multiple episodes. The Haku & Zabuza vs. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, & Kakashi battle took like 8 episodes. Of course, you also have characters on the sidelines commenting on what's going on. And don't forget the obligatory mid-battle flashback sequence!

Still, when it's on, it's on! The tournament at the end of the second portion of the Chuunin Shiken was amazing, especially the Rock Lee vs. Gaara fight. Without a doubt, that's the coolest fight I've ever seen. Period. Three episodes long, and the outcome was pretty surprising.

Right now it's up to episode 54, which has the characters preparing for the next big Chuunin Shiken tournament. I can't wait for that Naruto vs. Neji fight. He'll teach that scumbag a lesson. Plus, I hear the best is yet to come...

Oh, I know. I'm just giving you a taste of things to come. If you decide to continue following the series, be warned that the Zabuza arc is extremely drawn out. They waste so much time showing you the histories of characters you probably couldn't care less about. But you do get to see Naruto tap into Kyuubi's chakra a little at the end (think: Super Saiya-jin).

After that, the lengthy Chuunin Shiken arc begins, which has been fantastic so far. Speaking of length, this series is clearly headed for over 100 episodes. The manga is still in production, and it's far ahead of the anime at the moment.

lol, not another 550 episode anime and I thought the entire Dragonball/Z/GT thing was too long.
I will continue with the serie but I prefer to watch one anime at a time, so that I can enjoy it more ;)

I am very exited for the Clone Wars series. However I cant help but think how much cooler it would have been had they gone with the Animatrix approach and do it in traditional anime style. I think that would be very cool. I still will like the clone wars cartoons but I just wish they weren't so...well cartoony, and more realistic looking.
