Mini Series Aniseya and her coven of witches

I thought i make a thread about Mother Aniseya and her cult of witches. Probably our main villains outside the hidden Sith lords. What are their connection to others witches in Galaxy and any connection to Path of the hidden hand. Most interested in them.

 

I have no clue and that’s fun

 

She gives the mother vibe from phase ll of High Republic.

 

She appears for like 5 seconds I don’t know if you can get a vibe off that

 

She looks great. I love the detail in her costume and makeup. Looks like she’s part of an actual culture.

 

I know she’s a Sith.

 

She’ll be the first actual on screen female Sith if she is.

 

Would be cool to have a witch wo is a Sith and has many followers.

 

There are a lot of interesting things you can do with the show I really hope they take advantage of it

 

I think she might have ties to the other Galaxies and Ach To, Mortis. Like how many witches were around before the Jedi Order.

 

Her databank entry says she’s focused on maintaining her coven’s independence and keeping their beliefs and powers preserved. It makes it sound like maybe the Republic is encroaching on their territory and possibly have laws against practicing witchcraft.

Salem witch trails when

 

In the main Acolyte thread, [mention]Mostly Handless [/mention] posted a link to a Collider interview where Leslye is nerding out about how the Jedi have amassed all the power, at least in regards to Force usage. While the Sith are practicing the Rule of Two, and Force cults seem to exist on the fringes.

The idea of the Jedi amassing power seems to be a recurring detail that she’s bringing up in every interview I’ve read so far.

Even if the Jedi and Republic aren’t outwardly antagonistic towards the witches, perhaps they are more efficient at finding and recruiting Force sensitives, leaving fewer candidates for other institutions that have declined as a result?

She looks fantastic. Good to have villain costumes that are more than just dark robes, capes, helmets or military uniforms. Some proper cultural depth in this one.

 

That's so true. That's what I really enjoyed about the aesthetic.

I wonder what that cool spiral symbol suggests for her coven?

 

I am also curious about them.

Her line about things being about power rather than right or wrong would normally be a clear cut villain line, but looking around what material we have I expect the show will be sympathetic to her point of view at least.

 

I think the show will present her point of view, but I imagine it will not ultimately be sympathetic to it.

 

I wonder how different these witches will be from the Nightsisters of Dathomir.?

 

I'll still take Talzin over any witch in presented in the franchise; past, present, or future.
