I would love it if these witches turned out to be not so bad after all, with the real Sith connections lying elsewhere.

I was thinking the same thing today.

Hopefully we don't end up in a similar situation to the Mandalorian, where suddenly the focus is on a new acolyte every season, ha ha.

 

If they will sing that song, it will be sufficient.

 

Agree this villain(?) looks great. Can't wait to see how she fits into the show's narrative.

I kinda wish they had come up with a different name than 'witch' since my thoughts immediately go to the witches of dathomir, which) I believe this coven isn't a part of.

I love the idea that Force users can be something other than Jedi or Sith. The Jedi may be the dominant religion/organization that most Force users belong to, and the Order has grown to be the largest, or even stamps out others who don't agree with their ideology, but smaller religions can still thrive in the fringes.

I wonder if the Jedi will be shown to have a 'live and let live' attitude toward these other religions, or if they will want to end them - perhaps out of fear that they will misuse the Force, bring about disaster in some way because they disagree with their dogma and believe the Jedi have the only 'correct' view of the Force.

 

Did they (the creators, I assume you mean) officially refer to them as witches?

Anyway, I’m loving her look and the eerie vibe of her gaggle. It’s not a competition, but she looks far more interesting to me than Talzin.

 

Star Wars has trained me to look at these characters and wonder if they’ll even be that important.

I remember the ape gunner from Rogue One being mentioned in the lead up to the film as though he was going to be something other than literally just a guy making primate noises shooting a gun.

Or people speculating that Marrok was going to be Sam Witwer’s live action appearance as a reinvention of Starkiller, but instead he’s just some random green fart for Ahsoka to cut.

The Knights of Ren were a thing.

This might be as significant as Ric Olie, but she’s visually interesting and has a line that Leslye says captures what the show is about.

I’m trying to set my expectations as low as possible and hopefully be surprised.

This character is obviously much more important to the story than the ape gunner. The ape gunner wasn’t waxing poetic about power, surrounded by a gaggle of worshipers.

 

I worshipped him, based on a lie.

These witches look pretty cool. When the hurly-burly’s done, and the battle’s are lost and won. Hopefully something wicked this way comes.

I think her and the coven are in the flashback sections of the story since we see a younger Sol, Indara and Khelnacca surrounded by them in the teaser.

Whatever happened is probs the catalyst for the plot

Yes, it could be the Jedi devastate or nearly destroy the coven b/c they don't tolerate other Force-cults and their actions come back to haunt them years later - maybe this group are the ones being hunted and killed, in a 'I know what you did last summer' kind of way. I assume the curly headed young Jedi doesn't survive since he is not featured elsewhere in the trailer; or he does survive the initial conflict but is the first one to be hunted and killed years later.

 

I think he's the bearded Jedi that Mae stabs in the trailer (during the ''someone is killing jedi'' sentence). Can't recall if it was confirmed or not but looks similar. And makes sense with the pitch that it's ''Kill Bill x Frozen''

Mae is basically going around killing the people that ruined her life

 

I mean the Jedi can’t have gone to hard on other force cults as all those force cults existed on Jedha up until Rogue One. Plus the nightsisters who are by far the third most powerful force faction in the galaxy were left alone mostly by the Jedi
