NBC is gonna do The Witching Hour mini-series?

I thought she'd go w/ Showtime, cause of the way Feast of all saints turned out. I mean they will have to do some content editing.

I hope it goes to Showtime or HBO - it would be a shame that it would have to be editted for TV.

You'd think that a mini-series dealing with generations of incest might be too much for network television.

NBC? ?[face_plain] For the Witching Hour? Doesn't sound like a smart choice to me. Any line on the actors?

I haven't heard anything on who will be in. It will be 12 hours, though. :)

I not sure about NBC either.

If it stays close to the book at all it will need to be 12 hours long.

I'm heading down to New Orleans next weekend. I know that you can go by Anne Rice's house but is there anything you guys might suggest to take in as fans of her works?

I have read the first three books, but it was many years ago, and I don't remember a lot of details. I'm a fan of the Interview film, but it doesn't make a lot of references to places in New Orleans in particular that might be worth visiting.

Any thoughts? The Anne Rice Appreciation tour of New Orleans?

I plan to drink Chartreuse on Bourbon St as a nod to Poppy Z. Brite.

I know I'm a little late w/ a reply to this, but there is a book called Haunted City by Joy Dickinson that lists all the places in New Orlean that are settings in Anne Rice's books.

    Really?

I may have to pick that up. I keep telling my husband, that I'm gonna take him to New Orleans. He hasn't been.

New Orleans is pretty cool. Though I could never live there--I'm not a city person. The French Quarter looks so much smaller than on TV when you are there. :)

I have to say, I can't wait to read this.

I figured there would be ramifications for Lestat's actions regarding Mona. Could that be why he made her and not Quinn? Just a thought.

A vampire can't read or share thoughts with his/her maker or with any vampires he/she creates.

By making Mona a vampire himself, Lestat gave Quinn a gift because then Quinn and Mona wouldn't be shut off from one another.

But in the new book, I wonder...will we get that Louis/Lestat confrontation... I know there are many fans (including myself) who want some-well, closure to the whole relationship. Especially with the rumours that it's her last book.

For those who appreciate extremely well-written vampire stories, Snow, Glass, Apples a short by Neil Gaiman.

And for more vampires in New Orleans, see George R.R. Martin's Fevre Dream . The catch: good luck finding a copy.

I finished the Blood Canticle this morning.

I?m still not sure what to make off it. As one of her books it was great. The Blood Canticle is a true squeal to Blackwood Farms. And I loved both of them.

But if it truly is the end of The Vampire Chronicles...Then it left me kinda empty. It doesn?t wrap up much with Lestat in my mind.

I?ll post spoilers later if anyone wants them. :)

Question: If I don't know a THING about Blackwood Farms or any of the witches/whatnot, will this book make any sense to me? :(

I wasn't even aware the book was out yet. That'll teach me to not pay attention. :p

    Oh my gosh!

I completely forgot this was out! I have been sooo wraped up in the new Dark Tower book coming out on Tuesday.

So it left you kinda empty Amidala?

Btw it was great meeting you in Plano. :)

    I read Blood Canticle.

And I am horrified. I hate it. And I am just shocked by the fact that The Vampire Lestat will become a Broadway musical.

Well I finished Blood canticle over my holiday.

Amidala, I'm like you in a way. It left me empty.

It was like she was trying to cram in so many things and well we, as the readers got the clif notes version of the story.

Really? They are going to make that into a Broadway musical? Where did you hear that?

    Check Anne Rice's official site.

Or Elton John's since he's doing the music for it.
