Antilles and Organa

Sunshine was filtering through the trees surrounding the stables of a farm situated near the capital Aldera.

Trees covered with blossom and promising a rich harvest of fruit for the owner of that farm.

Lew Antilles was that owner and he remembered two of his workers coming back from the Aldera country fair a day early and going immediately to their room in the bunk-house. That had been a few months ago and there had been another festival with his nerfs winning prizes, attended by him and all his workers and with all going to the party with the bands playing the latest hits. The two had been already old men when they came on his farm but were very capable of caring for the young Nerfs. And they had enjoyed the bands. 'Had they no knowledge of the music, culture and art festival that was the official ending of the Aldera country fair?' With this thought on his mind Lew walked to the bunk-house.

“Organa. I will do that and I will bring Magin too.” Jika Bale was sitting at the large table and closed his comlink to see Lew entering. He had an innocent smile on his face. “What brings you here on my last day in your service?”

“Last day?” Lew said. “I was wondering why you and Magin returned a day early from the Aldera country fair. No music or culture to enjoy? You were clearly enjoying those bands at the Aldera Nerf festival. And why is it your last day here?”

“It has everything to do with our early return from the Aldera country fair. We had seen the big shows of the husans when the unexpected happened. Imperial troops wanted to grab three boys riding and guiding their husans by voice only. The boys were accompanied by two older men and forming the Five brothers with their husans named Nephril, Emmanuel, Raoulo, Romono and Esham. The imperial commander had them coming back as the winners of the free style show and with them was Leia Organa on her husan Naura. We saw the five riders escaping by jumping into an old transport. Leia was there with her father and now Bail Organa wants Magin and me to become the grooms of the husans and mearis in the Royal Palace. So yes it is my last day here.”

“And for me too.” Magin came into the main room of the bunk-house with his meagre belongings in a back-pack. “A Royal guard is coming. Jika, get your gear. We have two animals to care for and we are yes...”

“Old and feeling it.” Jika finished and walked to his room and bunk-bed where his gear was always stowed into a bag. He took the statue that was on the nightstand and placed it atop of his bag seeing Magin's smile. Magin's lightsaber was – looking like a pistol – hanging in plain sight from his belt. But Jika had designed a statue, coded to respond to his hands to reveal his lightsaber when needed. He had made it after the empire rose to power and had to go into hiding. And being on the Jedi agristation in Alladea that had been quite easy. He had become a farm-hand with Magin Bhik accompanying him to one of the great Nerf farms being that of Lew Antilles. And the visit to the Aldera country fair had him meeting Bail Organa and his daughter Leia.

“You two were old but respected by me. It makes me a bit sad to see you go but going to the Royal Palace to care for two animals.” Lew got a smile on his face. “It sure is a nice old folks home to spend your last years. Have fun and maybe until the next festival.”

 

Love the rural setting, Jedi hiding out, farmhouse, stables, country fair. It's the simple life for these retired defenders of the peace.

 

I loved the rural setting and the country fair. A serene and peaceful assignment/job for the two feeling their age.

 

Welp, it looks like Jika and Magin found a new protector at the festival, but they also had a close shave with the Empire there! The description of the rural setting was lovely, and it makes sense that Jedi who were assigned to an agristation when Order 66 came were able to hide as farm hands to escape. I also loved how they camouflaged their lightsabers; IIRC, Palpatine also had his hidden in a statue in the RotS novelisation, and there's an element of poetic irony to it...
