Grievous would have been a cooler character if he would have been hit by the blaster bolt, caught fire, jumped in the water to put out the fire, and then Obi-Wan jumps down and sticks his lightsaber in the water electricuting him. "That should cure your cold."

I actually like the fact that he was a one diminisional, characterization of evil. It was like watching Cobra Commander in Star Wars.

All the referrences that he was a coward, the fact that he ran, and the fact that he made promises he couldn't keep were classic.

Yes, he was pure cheese, but he wasn't as bad as Jar-Jar.

I enjoyed tha fact that Grievous died because he did not consider the possibility of Obi Wan going for a blaster. He assumed everything revolved around the light saber.

good observation Taisho...never thought of it like that...It makes sence thoguh...he is part computer, and the comuter part would just logicly place that all Jedi only use light sabers....nice goin :)

Greivous was real scary and seemingly invincible during the Clone War animated series. But when ROTS rolled around, he was okay.
    -------------------------

He got owned by Windu and Dooku like he was nothing even in the cartoon, he came about right to me.

EVERYONE was blown out of porportion in the cartoon, if u failed to realize that, then thats no ones fault but your own.

Kit Fisto was blowing up crap with the force under water! KIT i-dont-ever-get-a-line FISTO!

I really like General Grievous because while he was a semi-badass, he wasn't a fool. I did watch the clone wars and I didn't take any of it very seriously. I mean, you have Mace Windu raping 500+ battledroids in less than a minute. If you actually watched Episode II you'll see that Mace Windu plus like 100 jedi can't take on that many.

which makes my ending of Grievous even better in that he really does die by the "jedi way" of lightsaber.

his cape could have been a bit better animated.

Grirvous sucked there was no point too him he was just aother ting that took away from the story being better, than it could have. His voice and all other voices of robot troop, and especially that ridiculous cg monstrosity that Obi rode on was horrible. These are the things that must make me say that I was sadly a little dissapointed with this film.
It had alot of great stuff to it, but could have done without Grievous def.

I think Grievous' character was well placed. Not much more than an noteworthy villian, though.

Grievous came off a tad weak, but that's because he's supposed to be. I thought he was like the Napoleon or Robert E. Lee of the galaxy, but he only thinks himself to be. Sidious chose him to be head of the Confederacy because he's supposed to lose. With the absence of Dooku, the Confederacy is falling apart under his leadership. And with the heavy armor of the Super Battle Droids, why is it that his vital organs are so easily exposed? Because Sidious had his mechanical body designed that way.

He was just a pawn like Maul. All the bandwagan star wars fans loved the four-lightsaber stuff, but i personally wasn't too impressed by it. We've gotta take all the action from the clone wars cartoon with a pinch of salt, most of that stuff isnt realistic, even for the sw universe.

He served his purpose. I did love it when he pulled 4 sabers. My reactions pretty much went.

"OMG! How is Obi-Wan gonna stand a chance..."

    *10 seconds later*

"OMG, Obi-Wan is teh man! l33t skills!"

He justified my loathing of him in spades. Totally stupid, a cyborg with lung problems who talks like a Cossak...........Brilliant Geroge, just brilliant.

Only part of the movie I hated though, the rest was great.

I thought that the constant coughing and weezing sounds were a bit reminiscent of Darth Vader, like they wanted to bring him in early in the movie. Anyway, I thought he was okay. Although it was weird when he blew up after a couple blaster shots. I mean, we don't see other people getting set to flame when they get shot. Anyway, wasn't bad.

Why are people so hung up on grevious. He served his purpose. He was there to represent the leader of the droid army after dooku dies. WHen they kill him it ends the war...which means the chancellor would lose his power, so him dying brings out the real villian of this movie the emperor. It wouldn't have made sense to have long drawn out battles with him, and when he did fight like someone said before he did awesome for a non jedi against a jedi master who dispatched darth maul. As far as him running he's a general he knew he was only 1 who could hold the seperatist army together. He needed to stay alive and he was smarth enough to know he couldn't handle 2 of the best jedi in the republic...especially being injured from Windu.

Some of my friends have told me why GG coughed like that later the night after I saw it but to me when I originally saw it, I was like "God, it sounds like he's got asthma!" lol

He seemed a real wuss to me, I wasn't too impressed with him. As he was from what I heard, supposed to be one of the major bad guys, didn't really see him doing much so that kinda disappointed me

Throwaway waste of space who, while funny at times was nothing more than a plot device to get Obi Wan away from Courosant.

GG Took up more important screen time from the major characters and could have been an asset had GL not been flying on the seat of his pants in the PT and introduced him in AOTC- making him dangerous.

Like Dooku, who should have been intro'd in TPM, GG should have been unveiled in AOTC - he wasn't and hence is a throwaway waste.

    Yours SHB JR

Who likes ROTS, quite a bit, but won't cut the cr*p bits any slack

I have to say that people calling him "cowardly" is a mistake. Typical bad guy, he wants to stay alive, he wants to WIN. I'm sorry to say but evacuating a ship which is being blown in half, is that cowardly? Especially when he really didn't have a clue that Kenobi and Skywalker had survived the vacuum of space? The bodyguards were there to protect him, just as Sideous has the imperial guards.

Actually, calling him a coward is perfectly accurate, as George Lucas himself describes the character as "a slimy coward" in the Making of ROTS book. He also refers to him as "Dracula Droid" and wanted the animators to give him a "Nosferatu"-type look.

This was actually a last-minute characterization change made by Lucas, decided in May of 2004, well into post-production.
