So far, I really like this game. I favor it over COD and Halo. The only thing that ticks me off is when your party is really dull, no one talks, stratigizes, or even make jokes.

Or when your party includes a teenage girl who keeps singing pop music while shooting randomly and throwing Molotov everywhere.

    EDIT:

But yeah, this game is awesome. I'm so addicted. I don't do anything with my life anymore but play. I can't believe a video game has done this to me.

I wake up, work out, go to work, then come home and play. Every day. My gf is pissed at me, but...I can't...stop.

I just had the best L4D experience ever.

I was playing with this group on No Mercy, versus mode. We beat the other team by like 3000 points. It was a slaughterhouse. Back in the lobby, the other team's people were asking if we were pros. [face_laugh]

One my team members said that we work for Valve and that we're game testers and programmers, and he started complimenting them on things like the elevator trick (saying that neither he nor his Valve coworkers had ever thought of doing something like that). They all fell for it and challenged us to a rematch, saying that they'll get us this time around.

We go first as the survivors and they hammer us. They slaughter us right in front of the safe room. I'm the last one standing and a hunter gets me (which will turn out to be the case for the next few levels :p ). Then it's their turn as the survivors, and they're hammering us again, flying through the level. One of my teammates goes, "If all four of them make it to the safe room, I'm gonna be pissed." To which another teammate says, "Then be pissed. They're all in."

So we're all making fun of the dude who said we're Valve employees ("These kids are gonna go around telling people that they beat actual game programmers now!" etc). It went on like that the entire time. They were crushing us level for level. Some of my teammates couldn't believe it, seeing as how we decimated them in the last game. They did that annoying elevator trick on us, and we were so screwed. Without any pipebombs, we spent a good hour or so trying to shove the machine out of the way.

One of our teammates ended up leaving and was replaced by someone else, who then got kicked after a while. The AI took control of the character (Zoey), and she somehow ended up outside of the elevator. As you can imagine, we were all like "WTH!"

So then we divide our attention between pushing the machine and protecting the computer-played Zoey from the enemy team. Our buddy re-joins the game again as Zoey and he wanders off to kill a smoker--and a hunter gets him, to which another teammate goes, "Dude, we were better off with the AI Zoey!" [face_laugh]

We finally get out of the elevator, only to be blocked off again and killed. So then it's our turn to be the Infected. We decide to block EVERYTHING as revenge (elevator, doorways, etc).

Unfortunately, to our utter horror and amazement, they got out of the elevator with a pipebomb almost right away, and walked around all our other obstacles. AROUND. On the EDGE of the building floor! You can imagine our shock. We spent a good deal of time setting up those obstacles--and these guys were flying through them as if they were the real pros!

Our score at this point is like 98 or something just as pitiful, against their 1000-something.

We're now on the rooftop, the final level of No Mercy. We decide that we can't lose anymore and that if we all survive, we can score almost 2000 points and still win. All or nothing.

We do it! All four of us survive somehow!

Now all we have to do is make sure that they don't survive! So we assemble above the very last ladder, attacking with our hunters, smoker, and boomer as soon as they climb up. We instantly kill three of them and the fourth falls off the building.

They don't even make it to the radio room.

We indeed score nearly 2000 points, enough to win the entire campaign! Back in the lobby, we told them that we were toying with them the entire time, giving them false hope and throwing the earlier levels because we knew we'd win in the end.

    They were so angry.

Anyway, I'm very glad I got Xbox Live to play this game. This was just an amazing gaming experience.

    ^ That's awesome.

Unfortunately hardly anyone, if anyone, on my friends list plays Left 4 Dead, so my online experiences have been limited. I tried versus mode for the first time the other day, no one spoke or made any sort of plan and just ran off in different directions. [face_plain]

Anyway, I have a few people come over to play local split screen, which can be a blast.

Me and my sister's boyfriend were finishing up Dead Air, and we managed to survive the zombie horde while the plane was refuelling, then we got the signal to jump on the plane so we made a run for it.

As I saw no door was immediately open, I had no idea which end of the plane to head for, so in the panic I head for the front, with no success. Once I realised the back ramp was opening (where my team mate was waiting) I started to run towards it, but I was low on health and one of the stupid AI characters (Francis I think) tried to heal me, and it stopped me dead in my tracks. I finally broke free and got to the back ramp, but got pulled down and killed while I was half way up it! :_|

My team mate also died in the delayed chaos, and we were swiftly shoved back to the beginning of the level, right after being a second away from victory. :(

I used to play this game on split-screen for like a month or two. It was so awesome. But I had no idea how incredible playing on Live could be. I play religiously now. I never thought I'd be one of those people who sit around the house all day, wearing a headset and shouting at the television. :p

My gamertag is Valyn83 if you wanna play sometime.

And yeah, I hate it when you end up in a group that doesn't talk and runs around like chickens with their heads cut off.

I play mostly on weekends, and mostly with my extended family members. It's a great game when everyone works as a team. We're working on beating some campaigns on expert. I hope they can think up some sort of sequel someday. :)

Had an awesome moment I just wanted to share...

The end of the No Mercy campaign, we're all on the helicopter except for Louis who isn't on the pad and is being swarmed. Doesn't look like he'll make it, we're trying to help though. Then a tank comes running at us, so we stop helping Louis and put him out of his misery so the helicopter will take off before the Tank gets to us. :p

Ha, I did that to my brother the other night. The truck came and we all hopped in and left him behind. It was funny because the ending sequence must have shown at least 100 zombies devouring him. :p

Has anyone noticed that in the Blood Harvest finale, the truck drives away when only two people are on it, therefore making it so that not everyone can escape? I found that a bit weird, but everytime i play it, I'm always one of the survivors :p
