Appaloosa - Western starring Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris

The next Gus and Call? Sure does look like it.

 

I read a preview of this movie...it looked interesting...

 

The reviews in the newspapers were very good. I like Westerns.

 

I am not a western fan at all except for Lonesome Dove.

This movie has me psyhced up though.

 

Anyone seen this?

 

I saw this today..er, yesterday.

Has a typical Western plot - two gunmen (Ed and Viggo)are hired to scare off or kill a man (Jeremy Irons, why hasn't this talented man ever been in a Western b4 now?) who is terrorizing a town named Appaloosa. Typical plot but nowhere near typical cliches. Didn't even have a typical shootout. I dare say that Viggo and Harris have the best chemistry on screen since Gus and Call.

 

Quite a statement.
