Are illegal immigrants complete idiots?

Tracy -- the problem is that the vast majority of the illegal labor is likely to be found in the large, metropolitan urban centers which pretty much ARE full enough...

I understand their plight, but flying (mostly) Mexican and South American flags at immigration rallies doesn't really help. Hell, even I found it disturbing and I'm Mr. Liberal.

 

Oh yeah and the "This is stolen land!" placards from the Mexicans also probably don't really help the cause much either...

 

I think it's a bit silly they are rallying for rights and they aren't even citizens. We can't give rights to every noncitizen who steps foot on our soil. I totally sympathize with the immigrants, especially those from impoversihed countries (namely Mexico)--the process to come here is expensive and takes a long time, and when you have kids to feed, sometimes you dont have that long. I don't think they are idiots for coming here illegally, like Beezel seems to think, but I do think it is a bit far-fetched asking for certain rights.

As some have stated, however, we DO talk about "inalienable human rights"....to whom do these apply? if they are inalienable and human, they must belong to everyone. So then America must grant certain rights to every individual who comes onto our land....unless "inalienable" means "deniable to non ctizens" and "human" means "American". In which case the phrase makes total sense.

The US wouldn't be having such a severe problem if the Mexican Government and other South of the border governments would first control their corruption, get their acts together and make living in their own countries worth while.
Instead, There is Vicente Fox taking over the presidency of Mexico saying he would put an end to corruption, and how does he propose to do it. Instead of helping his own citizens, he gives them maps pointing north and a pat on the behind, all the time telling Bush and the US citizenry it's good for the US economy. Actually it's good for the Mexican Government's economy because most illegalls send their money back home. Also Mexico's southern border patrol is quite ruthless with illegal immigrants from central and south America. I wonder how he answers that problem.

 

Kind of the same way that there are American citizens that are on both sides of the illegal immigrant debate?

These pictures were taken yesterday at Montebello High School, which is just a few miles east of Downtown L.A. Yeah, alot of these kids really care about the rights of illegal immigrants.

 

Okay, so at a sports rally at my school today, during the national anthem, groups of people of latin descent, suddenly stood up and started waving Mexican Flags, and yelling over the national anthem.

Now, I'm some crazy patriotocic gun totin' beer swilin' american, but gol darnit, I just won't stand for people disrespecting the anthem or the flag, and the events they stand for. I was this close to jumping up and yelling, "Well If you hate the country so much, why don't you leave! No one's making you stay!"

Then I realized that alot of people at my school are hispanic, and I value my ability to walk, eat, and use the restroom unassisted.

Don't think that racist garbage like that isn't believed by some people out here. Not everybody, not everyone who has been protesting, but unfortunately, some people buy into that "message".

 

WOW! that article reminds me of something...Hmmm...Yes, that's it, the beginings of the Nazi party in 1939 Germany. Not that I was there, but the propaganda is unmistakingly the same idealology of a master race.

 

Actually, here in California, it's more the Mexicans who support it, and the college professors are encouraging. I havent heard much about the big businesses, though.
What gets me is when they wave the Mexican flag around in these lame protests... if Mexico is so great, why the hell did you abandon it in favor of the US?

Seeing as Mexicans are the result of Spaniards stealing Native American land, I find this highly amusing.

 

Like I said earlier, they tore it to shreads in Garfield. My dad told me how many mexican soldiers he fought with died in Vietnam so that their families could live in America...

I hope that all of those people who don't feel that away & appreciate this country don't let these idiots become the face of this opposition.

 

its not as easy as it sounds for illegal immigrants to become legal it takes years for them to get their papers and become legal, and we are not idiots.

 

QFT. Bureacracy, corruption, same deal. They've either gotta take action or not. Some of them do.

 

Well your both right, our government needs to make the legal route easier for immigrants, so that the flow of illegals can be lessened. That however doesn't excuse these students from disrespecting our flag/country.

True, so I don't get too upset about that, but what really pisses me off is the double standard of the media. They won't mention or hardly talk about the U.S. flag being disrespected by these students, but the other side of this debate, people like myself who are sickened by the border situation & alot of these protests, isn't or hardly gets their view across on TV; talk radio is the only place where you really hear about all of this. Can you imagine if a bunch of white people or anybody else for that matter, rallied against these protests & flew the Mexican flag upside down or burned it. What would happen? They would be called racist, as condemnation would ring from all of the the media, but nothing is sad about these students or the radical elements from all of the protests.

 

Hell, they just wanna skip school.
