Obviously yes. And Lucas is very protective over this. There used to be a dance group in San Francisco that named themselves something like Jabba's Cantina Dancers or something like that, I don't remember exactly, and Lucas heard about it and sent them a cease and desist court order. It's all his intellectual property.

There's a lot of the domain names (ie.. www.generalgrievous.com) taken and NOT owned by Lucasfilms. These names may be intellectual property, but I am not sure if they are trademarked. If there are no trademark, these domain name owners sell them for a profit?

If you write a book and a character so much as coughs something that rhymes with "Kenobi" or "Skywalker", LFL's knocking on your door on your front porch the next day.

You're not planning on naming your kid "Anakin" or something stupid like that, are you?

If someone sold countdooku.com for a profit, is it illegal? I don't think that is trademarked.

I love how socks come in here and just post instigating topics, that the answers are so obvious, and the answers are so easily obtainable.

Or perhaps Bula is a Mod, trying to get a thread going that helps actual discussion to happen, instead of just name games, and word scrambles.

Bula, this answer is so easy to find, that I am surprised people actually answered you.

Good luck in your quest for the hard answers.

    Madine out

Madine, your post made absolutely no sense to me.

These names are NOT trademarked. Thus can be owned and sold for profit. Unless someone has something useful to add that refutes that.

When a member of the rap group 2 Live Crew started calling himself Luke Skywalker,Lucas sent a cease and desist order to him,so I think they obviously are.
