I have only seen Kyle Katarn only in the games.
    Dark Forces
    Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
Jedi Knight: mysteries of the sith(expansion pack)
    Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast

dp4m Edit: Added "possible spoilers" warning.

This question has been bugging me for a while. And the answer is...no. Up until now. It has been revealed (I can't remember who said this, and I haven't read the book myself yet) that Kyle Katarn is mentioned as being 'missing' in Remnant. So, Kyle fans, be worried. He may be taken by the Vong!

Can someone say what page number this was on?

"he is portraied in I,Jedi (Stackpole)and the Dark Forces Novels... and a few New Jedi Order books but this I will leave to others to explain"

Corran Horn, and Kyle Katarn may share a few similarities but they are not the same characters. I'm offended that people would think that Corran Horn is Kyle Katarn. Corran doesn't even measure up to the greatness that is Kyle, [face_mischief], :D.

    Mr. Valiento *gg*

I am aware that Kyle is not Corran and maybe I misused the word "portraied".. but Kyle IS in I,Jedi and one of the first students of Skywalkers Academy (btw...perhaps I only read this in the Chronicles...*fg*)

    maybe... maybe not... *looking innocently*

Edit and please DON'T compare Corran to Mr.Hamster-Face *sniff*

"but Kyle IS in I,Jedi and one of the first students of Skywalkers Academy"

Actually Kyle Katarn is not even mentioned in I' Jedi.

Like how corran was retroactively added into JAT history through I' Jedi.

Kyle Katarn was retroactively added into JAT history through the Essential Chronology.

The info that Kyle Katarn was in the academy at that time, can only be found in the EC, TNEGTC, and POTJSB.

As for him being mentioned in the NJO in the newest book, I would like someone to give the page number for that, hmmm?

"and please DON'T compare Corran to Mr.Hamster-Face *sniff*"

Corran Horn doesn't even measure up to "the Bearded One"(even if both of them had beards in academy), Corran never was a child of prophecy, born to fulfill a prophecy like Kyle Katarn was. Anakin Skywalker might have been "The Chosen One", but he was never, "The Bearded One", the one to fulfill the prophecy of Ruusan, to free the spirits of the Valley of the Jedi, and save the galaxy from domination with a battle to be fought there, :D.

    ***Minor Remnant Spoiler***

Valiento: If you're still interested, Katarn is mentioned on page 21. The sentence is:

"Aside from Jaina, too many of the Jedi were missing from this meeting: Tam Azur-Jamin, Octa Ramis, Kyle Katarn, Tenel Ka, Tahiri Veila..."

Thank you man, I think it's cool that he got a refrence. The fact it didn't confirm a status for him, could lead into a video game in the NJO, :D, ;).

On another note, could someone post the quote here? I won't be getting the book until a few days from now, I'm curious about the details from the book on this matter.

It would be great to have another game involving Kyle in the NJO :D

BTW, I edited my first post with that particular sentence if you're interested.

Thanks for the quote. No one, from now on can state that Kyle Katarn is just a video game character, with no refrences in the novels, :D(even if that is a lame arguement considering the dark forces novellas are all about him).

I just wish some cool author decided that Kyle Katarn needed some spotlight, and wrote a book. Maybe thats what I should do.

The members missing from the meeting were ONLY missing from the meeting -- not missing in general.

    ...I'm completely astonished.

So this is definitely the first time he's been mentioned in a "mainstream" novel?

    It's about damn time!
