?You look about the same, I guess.?

Liora turned bright red. ?What do you mean I look the same?? she shrieked. ?I?m cleaned up and I even styled my hair different just for you!?

    ?It?s different from before??

At this point, the guys burst into laughter, which did not help the situation

?You?you?you stuck up?.scruffy looking?.nerfherder!!? She screamed, stomping on my foot before storming off.

    What?d I say?

[face_laugh][face_laugh] Its more what you didn't say Arik! Love that he is totally clueless about girls.

I?ve seen how dopey-eyed Luke is around Mara Jade. That will never be me.

    Famous last words.

    Great update! =D= =D=

    Poor Arik!

I love this, boys that age have no idea what we females think, and I guess he never will.
Men never understand women either.o_O [face_mischief]

Then he went on to explain the difference between like and really like. It wasn?t the sex talk, I got that already. It was just the she?s interested in you talk.

    Oh Force.

How am I supposed to face her now? It?s not that I don?t like her. She?s nice enough. I just don?t really like her or any girl for that matter.

    Ewwww.

Dad laughed again and said in a year or two I?d feel differently.

    Yeah right.

I?ve seen how dopey-eyed Luke is around Mara Jade. That will never be me.

    Till next time,

Alexis_Wingstar: That is just too adorable. Arik sweetie, don't grow up too fast!

Yeah, poor Arik doesn?t have a clue yet. And don?t worry, he?s not in a hurry to try and figure out girls. :p

LilyHobittJedi: Its more what you didn't say Arik! Love that he is totally clueless about girls.

Thanks, though he may just figure out a thing or two?eventually.

    Famous last words

Muttered by just about all of us at one time or another [face_laugh] [face_laugh]

Laine_Snowtrekker: Funny, how he thinks that he will never be as moonstruck as Luke over Mara.

Isn?t it though. It?ll be even funnier when the day comes that he is just as moonstruck. Not that that is going to happen anytime soon.

    JediKaren: that is soooo cute

Thank you ? I?m glad you enjoyed it. :) :)

earlybird-obi-wan: Boy meets girl and everywhere it is the same. Girls grow up faster

And cause the poor boys no end of grief either! :p

    Nope and they never will.

BrentusofGath: That makes two of us kid. *shakes head sadly*

Ah, don?t feel too bad. Most guys don?t and never will understand us complicated females.

    Dear Diary,

I?m writing from the Healer?s ward again and at the moment, I couldn?t be happier I?m being kept here because I don?t think I can ever show my face in the Temple again.

Let me start from the beginning.

My dad, Luke and I are building a speeder from scratch. When we?re done, Luke and I will be able to share it, though I?ll still need to have an adult with me while Luke will just need permission to go out. How unfair is that? I?m a Skywalker, flying is in my blood, but dad says it?s either that or I can wait to fly until I?m 16.

    *Sigh*

Sometimes it?s tough only being 13.

Anyway, we need a new circuit board. We get most of our parts from the various junk yards around Courscant and fix them up. Dad says doing it that way instead of just buying stuff will teach us not to waste and give us an appreciation of the things we own. Personally, I think he just likes the challenge of fixing things.

Luke and I made plans to go to the Sudime Junkyard today. It?s on the lowest level of the planet and not somewhere either of us are supposed to go without dad because the beings who live down there are dangerous but it?s the best junkyard on all of Coruscant.

We thought we would just take a quick trip down there, find a circuit board and surprise dad with it, telling him the truth about where we got it ? in a junkyard. Dad?s pretty good about not asking too many details, especially when his attention is diverted by something he can fix.

Unfortunately, Luke was assigned to help Master Yoda first thing this morning and then he had some sort of training lined up with Master Fisto that would take the rest of the day. He told me about it right after breakfast and said we?d go the very next time we both had a few hours free.

I thought about waiting. I really did. But I had free time this morning and sometimes I have a little trouble controlling my enthusiasm.

So, I figured I?d go by myself. I know the way and I know how not to draw attention to myself.

The trip itself was uneventful. I made it to the junkyard fine, found a circuit board plus a power coupler and some wires we could use, and using the Force, jumped to the ground.

I would have made it without any problems except for the jagged edge of?something metal sticking out about ten meters from the ground.

It sliced half my leg open.

I didn?t scream or cry. I?m a Jedi after all but I don?t mind saying it hurt worse than anything I?ve felt before. That?s when I realized I forgot my utility belt. My belt, like all Jedi?s, carries the all-important bacta, used to treat all sorts of injuries.

Not having that, I just took off my undershirt and used it to wrap around my leg. I still had my tunic and cloak so I figured it would be okay.

The journey back was, in one word, horrible. I could barely walk, though the tunic did stop the bleeding. I wasn?t worried as much about being attacked by the beings down there, truth be told the way I was bent over and hobbling, I looked more like one of them then ever.

No, I was worried about making it back. I?m not very strong with using the Force to control pain yet. Dad says it?ll come with practice and Uncle Obi-Wan muttered as a Skywalker, I?d get plenty of that.

I?d gotten about halfway to the Temple when my leg gave out. I thought if I sat down for a bit, I?d get the strength back and be able to continue. So I wrapped my treasures tightly against my chest, closing my cloak around me and leaned back against a building, shutting my eyes.

I woke up in the healer?s ward.

Dad was sitting beside me, looking more upset than I?d ever seen him. Turns out, he felt my pain through our bond and, with Uncle Obi-Wan, came and found me.

I didn?t mind the lecture so much or the month of being stuck going from the Temple to home and nowhere else.

That was paradise compared to what came next.

    Mom showed up.

I know that doesn?t sound so bad. She came in, looked me over, covered my face with kisses, demanded to see Healer Caudle

[face_laugh] I loved it. Famous last words from a mother.

Right there in front of dad, Uncle Obi-Wan, two of my friends who came to check on me, Healer Caudle and anyone else in hearing distance, she actually asked, ?Was he wearing clean undershorts??

How embarrassing, and it is only when they grow up that we mothers
find out how embarrassed they were.[face_blush]
Oh well bad luck, you know you shoud wear clean
    undies all the time. [face_shame_on_you]

'Complicated'??? That's not the word I would use. Irrational, illogical, easily excitable spring to mind, but 'complicated'? [face_plain]

I dove under the blankets and haven't come out since.

And I'm not going to either.

    Dear Diary,

How complicated my life has become in the short time I last wrote. I?m writing to you from jail. Yes, I said jail but it wasn?t my fault I ended up here. Let me explain.

A week ago, Master Siri and I were given our first official assignment off Coruscant. Yes, technically we were supposed to go to Mon Calmari but after my stint in the healer?s ward, the Council thought it would be best if they sent someone who wouldn?t get violently ill after eating their native food. And to be honest, I wasn?t disappointed at all.

Anyway, the Council told us representatives from Geonosis had contacted Chancellor Organa and offered a protocol droid for every sitting Senator so that they could have instant access to the various languages and customs across the Galaxy. I think it was supposed to speed things up in the Senate or something.

Suffice it to say Chancellor Organa was very suspicious. Geonosis was part of the Separatists a long, long, long, long time ago when my dad was young and the Republic was on the verge of civil war.

He told them in order for him to consider their offer, they would have to allow the Jedi Council to send whichever ambassadors they wanted to the planet to check out their droid factory. That probably wouldn?t have been a big deal except Genosis has a ban on Humans getting anywhere near their planet.

Somehow, Chancellor Organa convinced them to lift the ban and Master Siri and I were assigned to visit the droid factory.

There isn?t much to say about the trip. Master Siri had me read all about Geonosian history and customs. It was B-O-R-I-N-G.

When we landed, we were greeted by Archduke Hadiss and taken immediately to the factory where the protocol droids were being assembled. No sightseeing or anything. Not that it looked like there was all that much to see but it would have been nice if the Archduke asked. I could only hope he was programming the protocol droids with more manners.

Anyway, we toured through the factory. I loved watching the droids being assembled from beginning to end. I want to build my own droid someday so I was playing close attention to everything. Not that I?ll have machines to do the work, mind you. I want to do everything myself but it was still instructional.

When we reached the end of the last conveyor belt, the Archduke was talking to Master Siri about the programming and how proud he was of all the languages and customs he was able to install in each droid.

I wasn?t very interested in that. I?ve already got a protocol droid?well, okay, my dad has a protocol droid so all I have to do is have 3PO share all his data with the droid I build and I?m all set. Why bother learning the boring stuff?

I started looking around and noticed an area just off to the side of the conveyor belt that we hadn?t been through. After making sure the Archduke and Siri were busy talking, I slipped over to the area and found a room filled with various computers.

I thought it was odd the Archduke hadn?t explained what this room was for so I did a little investigating. The computers were programming the protocol droids and everything seemed normal. I was just about to leave when I noticed a red button on the side panel that was unmarked.

I?m no expert on computers or anything but I know that?s odd. I figured I?d push the button once, just to see what it did.

    You know what it did?

It caused every droid in the factory to self-destruct.

I thought the series of explosions was wizard until I realized what exactly I had just done.

    Oops.

I was arrested and put into a jail cell.

Master Siri was told to leave immediately but she refused and demanded to know why the protocol droids that were supposed to be for translations and customs had a self-destruct mechanism in the first place.

Then she was arrested and put into a cell next to mine. She told me not to worry, that the Council had sent a second team because they did not trust the Geonosians and they would be arriving shortly.

I don?t want to admit it

It's a good thing Arik has a knack for doing what he isn't supposed to do, or else having a droids self-destruct next to all senators could be rather disruptive.
