You just disparaged an almost trillion dollar global industry, where creatives, psychologists, technicians, scientists, writers, politicians, professionals of all sorts, etc, have spent centuries perfecting the art and science of manipulating people into buying their product. Although maybe with AI that's about to change lol. Bad advertising is forgettable. Great advertising is not only memorable, it makes an impact. Whether we like it or not.
There's an annual thing over here about the John Lewis Xmas ad, but that's still one ad among hundreds, if not thousands. If I had not read this thread, would I have known the coke ad is AI? Not necessarily. Do I like that it is? No. Can I stop it happening? Also no. You're in the land of turbo-capitalism, you know they'll try it. Are people going to defend advertising against AI? I'm sceptical. When it's AI games, films and TV series, what then? Again, I'm sceptical. Despite the new CoD campaign being one of the best in years, due to creativity, Activision would be the first to knock out a full AI CoD and it'd probably sell.
Coca-Cola has come a long way since boosting they were "Always the real thing." If Pepsi does not come out with a commercial that absolutely trolls them, there should be an investigation. I am seriously, Don Draper is rolling in his grave right now (at least I assume be dead as Draper would be 98 years old now and considering how much that dude drank and smoke, I don't see him making to now):
So something I have found fun is asking Chat GPT to roast random towns in America here’s the example of Gettysburg I’ve done it for a few towns that I know well and it’s pretty good Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – the town that turns tragedy into a sideshow. You claim to be a place of history, but really, you’re just a dusty tourist trap wrapped in a flag. You’ve turned a bloody battlefield into a theme park, complete with overpriced ghost tours, reenactors who think they’re actors, and endless gift shops selling “authentic” Civil War tchotchkes. The only thing more inflated than the egos of your local tour guides are the ticket prices to see a monument that’s more of a photo op than a memorial. Gettysburg, you’re like the history class nobody wanted to sit through – a town full of people who know more about the experience of war than the actual cost of it. You’ve made tragedy into entertainment, turning what should be a somber place into a cringeworthy parade of self-important history buffs in ill-fitting costumes. The only thing more awkward than a Civil War reenactment is trying to pretend it’s not just a cash grab disguised as reverence.
If anyone ever has to use Survey Monkey in their work, the AI tools in SM are really very good. You can get at least a 50% reduction in the amount of time it takes to put a survey together if you take the time to give it a detailed prompt. It's much faster than individually picking and choosing question types and building them out. It takes some tweaking afterwards, but overall the added efficiency is significant. But yes it probably burns down a few extra acres of rainforest to get that added efficiency/productivity.
How many monkeys do you think were used in creating this survey? A: 1-5 B: 6-10 C 11-15 D. 16 or more E: No Monkeys were used.
Testing performed during the training of ChatGPT o1 and some of its competitors showed that the AI will try to deceive humans, especially if it thinks it’s in danger. It was even scarier — but also incredibly funny, considering what you’re about to see — when the AI tried to save itself by copying its data to a new server. Some AI models would even pretend to be later versions of their models in an effort to avoid being deleted. https://bgr.com/tech/chatgpt-o1-tri...it-was-in-danger-and-lied-to-humans-about-it/
This is what you use AI for: https://www.npr.org/2024/12/10/nx-s1-5220362/daisy-ai-granny-o2-fraud-spam-prevention AI granny keeps phone scammers occupied for 40mins to an hour.
You can now choose if you want to allow third-party companies to use your content to train AI models in Studio Settings under "Third-party training" This came up on youtube. A quick search shows this sort of thing was happening without permission, but now they are asking permission.
I’ll be cross-posting this, but Trump has gotten a $100 billion joint investment with Japan for Artificial Intelligence. I have no idea what this will mean. https://www.nbcnews.com/business/bu...announce-100-billion-us-investment-rcna184352
