Today I read the first album, Asterix the Gaul, and in there Panoramix says that it's an old recipe transmitted from druid to druid, but in Asterix and the Goths he wins the druid competition with the magic potion, and then it's definetly his own.

Maybe his ancestor, as seen in Asterix vs. Caesar invented it, and Panoramix is the only one he transmitted it to.

Dunno... maybe... or maybe Uderzo and Goscinny changed their minds aftdr all those albums, or maybe they didn't really decided if Panoramix was the Magic Potion creator or not... who knows ? *sigh*

But do you think he still remember who invented the magic potion, he didn't even remember the birthdays of our heroes. :)

I love Asterix, but the best comic ever is Tintin if you ask me.

Aah I disagree too Ben ; Tintin is... kinda boring (he's far too perfect). He is kind of an obeying boyscoot [face_disgusted].

    Let me disahgree...
Tintin is pretty good actually. Sure, he may look like a boy scout and all, but the books are funny (Captain Haddock, the professor, milu, etc... :D).

The seven balls and the 'sequel' (or however the book name is in english) is one of my favorites.

*going on with her idea : Tintin is not good* And Hergé's racism is far too obvious for the comics to be acceptable in my mind  and Milou isn't as good as Idéfix, and the Captain is nothing as fun as Obélix, and all in all Hergé tried to draw too serious a comic (or not enough serious a comic maybe, it's just in the middle of the great comics) for me to enjoy it ; this argumentaion is absolutly subjective, okay, okay... :D

Hey, be friends! Even if you Tintin lovers must understand that in this thread Asterix is number one.

I understand that, Anne, but it doesn't meant that Tintin isn't good too. :)

    Asterix still rules, though! :D

Everyone has a different taste, so we shouldn't bash Tintin, just because we love Asterix.

right, but that was not meant to create a fight...

my sister here have a great deal of very good arguments meant to prove Astérix is the best : she says Tintin has no helmet, he loves the Roman, and he doesn't even know how to make magic potion ! and more, Tintin isn't even able to eat poisoned pudding without being sick, he hasn't even met Cleopatra, and he would be bad against the pirats ! and he hasn't even gone to the Olympic games, and his pants are, humm, ugly... and he's so bad he _visited_ the pyramids, he didn't even built them !

don't all these argulents prove Astérix is the best ? :D

    sure he is !

a friend offered me a furry Idéfix a couple of years ago, saying it was the cutest soft toy she had found (we're both fond of soft toys =) ; see, it was an Idéfix, and not a Milou !

    [face_love] Idéfix !

    Their both dogs!

    Meaning they're equally cute! ;)

The only problem is that they are both small dogs, and small dogs have a tendencie to be irritating... Which doesn't happen in the books, of course! :)

Well when they did the "real actor" film of Asterix, then Idefix wasn't that small. He was perfect.
