    AU: Revenge? of the Sith

    Part 11

The delegates filled the Senate chambers for the assembly, the agenda possibly being the biggest ever. Today, they would choose their new Supreme Chancellor and hopefully rid themselves of the clone army for good.

Padme Amidala sat next to Jar Jar Binks, with Mon Mothma and her assistants nearby. In the various doorways surrounding the assembly stood clone soldiers, all at attention, even Commander Blade, though Padme could somehow feel his eyes on her, even from his helmet and from behind.

Mas Amedda stood before everyone calling for nominations.

Several delegates nominated various allies and friends.

Padme stood. "I nominate Mon Mothma, from Chandrillia."

Mon Mothma then stood. "I nominate Jar Jar Binks."

The senator from Kashyyk stood but was cut off by a voice from above.

"Senator Binks, I should remind you, was responsible for giving Palpatine his emergency power, thus causing all of this trouble!"

"Senator Binks was fooled, just like the rest of us," Padme said, standing. "Palpatine deceived the entire galaxy."

"Just like he deceived you into calling for that vote of No Confidence against Vallorum 13 years ago?" asked Vien Trov, the senator from Sullust.

Padme opened her mouth to defend herself, but Mon Mothma beat her to it. "Senator Amidala did what she had to for her world. Any of us would have done the same."

Another senator stood. "Does that mean one of you will declare war on us if it will protect your little planet?"

"Oh, you're definitely one to talk," another senator spoke. "You were one of the first to vote for this war in the first place!"

The assembly exploded as representatives from different worlds shouted at each other from their seats. Padme could not believe what she was seeing. They had a chance to make things right for the galaxy, but all the senators wanted to do was get right they felt was rightfully theirs.

There was a motion behind her, and she turned to see Commander Blade board, or rather push a senator out of his seat and being the platform to the center of the assembly.

"You are supposed to be choosing the one who will unite and bring peace to our Republic, but instead I see you'd rather squabble like children. I can't believe your people elected you in the first place!"

"Soldier," Mas Amedda said, "this is not a battlefield. We are in charge, and you will stand down."

    "No I will not."

Gasps filled the assembly, and Mas Amedda for the first time, at least to Padme, looked nervous.

    "I beg your pardon."

Blade stepped onto the central platform and stood barely a meter from Amedda. "I will not step down. My orders are to protect the Galactic Republic, so that's what I'll do." He looked to the delegates. "I will protect you, even if it means from yourselves. You've proven you cannot lead this Republic so I'm extending our martial law into an Asicry. As of now, this Republic is now under control of the Grand Army!"

"You have no authority!" Amedda yelled, trying to maintain control. "Now stand down!"

"No," Blade snapped, spinning to face Amedda. "YOU will stand down!"

"This is outrageous, security!" Amedda pressed some controls nearby.

Blade lunged forward and grabbed his wrist. "Senator Amedda, you are guilty of defiance, bordering on treason!"

Suddenly, Blade picked up Amedda by the throat and tossed him off the platform. Padme and Jar Jar both looked away, though no one could block away Amedda's screams as he fell. Glancing up, Padme noticed that the clone troopers now stood menacingly before each Senate seat.

"Now as I was saying," Blade continued, leaning on the podium, glaring at each and every senator, "you have all proven that you're incapable of leading yourselves, much less this Republic. So until further notice, you will look to us, both for protection And for leadership. And as acting General to the Galactic Republic, I promise you that there will be order, there will be obedience, and..."

He looked to the countless troops surroundi

    Part 12

Jedi Master Wolluss turned off the monitor and looked to the other Jedi in the hanger.

"Well," he said, "now we have much bigger problems."

"Problems," Yoda replied, "that deal with quickly we must."

One of the other Jedi stepped forward. "But Master, we don't have enough of us to take on the entire army."

Yoda nodded. "True this is, but defeat the entire army, necessary is not. Defeat their leader, we must, then confused they will be."

"That's true," Obi Wan said. "Blade seems to be the one interpreting Palpatine's finals orders and having his troops follow through. Without him, they won't be as effective in controlling the Republic."

"There's one other problem, though, Master," said Avaric, a Jedi about Obi Wan's age. "Even if we defeat Blade and his top troops, they still have an infinite army."

"The cloning center on Kamino, destroy this we must." Yoda look to the other Jedi. "Into two teams we will split then. Destroy Blade, a small group will. Then, infiltrate Kamino, the rest will."

Yoda continued. "A dangerous foe, Blade is. However, with us is one well acquainted with dangerous foes."

He looked right at Obi Wan. "Me?" the young master asked.

Avaric stepped forward. "Bastian and I fought off our clone army; we're pretty experienced at taking them down, and we worked with Obi Wan at Genosis. We'll accompany you, Master Kenobi."

"Then the others, I will take to Kamino," Yoda added. "And leave quickly, we must."

Avaric and Bastian started to leave the hanger while the remaining Jedi boarded the Citadel Cruiser. Obi turned to follow two out of the hanger.

    "Master Kenobi..."

Obi Wan turned to look at Yoda.

"To be cautious, I need not tell you. Trust in yourself, I know you will," Yoda said to him.

"Thank you, Master," Obi Wan replied. "If we don't see each other again-"

"Focus on your task and on the present, Master Kenobi. The future, deal with later, we shall."

"You're right. May the Force be with you, Master Yoda."

"And with you, may the Force be, Master Kenobi."

Obi Wan left the hanger with Avaric and Bastian as Yoda boarded the cruiser.

"We're ready, Master," Bastian told him.

Obi Wan looked to the craft taking off, then turned to them. "I'm glad two of us are..."

    Part 13

General Blade sat at the console, looking over the various split screens which showed records from cameras all over the city. Commander Kane approached him.

"What are you doing?" Kane asked.

"I have a feeling Amidala and Organa were lying; I just need to confirm it," Blade replied, without looking from the screen. He kept switching two different scenes of different events in the past.

Kane watched him. "With all due respect, sir, why does this bother you so?"

Blade shook his head. "Kane, you've had feelings in your gut before that you eventually verified, correct?"

Kane nodded. "And you said to trust our gut because most of the time, it's correct."

"Exactly." Blade touched a button, and the pictures on the screen were replaced with new ones. "I could have sworn I saw something in these records when I viewed them on the way here from Bespin."

They were interrupted as Blade's wrist com beeped.

    "Blade here."

"Centaur Squad here, sir. Kamino is officially under our control. We dispatched most of the personnel that we deemed unnecessary in learning the controls. Some of my troops requested permission to throw Tam We into the water so she can suffer, but I stopped them."

"Commander," Blade asked. "Is Taun We's survival vital to your mission?"

"No sir, we have three scientists in custody for that. I just thought it was barbaric."

"Tell your troops, permission granted, Blade out." He shut off the com and looked to Kane. "You have a question about my order, Commander?"

"Actually," Kane replied, "I completely agree with you this time. I don't think any of our troops thought highly of her."

"True." Blade turned back to the console and froze the screen. "Found it, but Blast! I can't see well enough!"

"Allow me." Kane sat next to Blade and pressed some keys. The image zoomed in to show Padme Amidala outside a conference room, speaking with someone as she embraced him.

    "Anakin," she said, "I'm pregnant."

    "That's...that's wonderful," replied the other.

Some of the dialog was hard to hear afterwards until the man said. "We're not going to worry about anything else right now. Our child is a blessing."

"That's not Organa's voice," Blade said, watching the screen. "Is there a way to see that person better?"

"I'm working on it, sir," Kane replied.

The image shifted to show the man better. He was close to Amidala's age, with long, scraggly brown hair.

"Can you identify him?" Blade asked.

Kane pressed a few keys, and a moment later, their answer appeared on the screen.

    Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight.

Blade flew out of his chair. "They Were lying!" He spun around to Kane. "Commander, Organa is guilty of perjury. Execute him! I'll deal with Amidala myself."

Kane stood. "Sir, killing live Jedi, I understand, but the children aren't even born yet. How can they be dangerous?"

"Commander Kagi," Blade said, turning to a nearby trooper. "How many of your troops fell in the temple to Jedi children?"

"About a dozen, sir," Kagi replied. "I can get you an exact roster-"

"That won't be necessary, thank you." Blade turned back to Kane. "Commander, we have all seen how dangerous Jedi are in all shapes, sizes, and age. Every one of them is a threat. And remember, our order is to kill All Jedi."

"Understood, sir." Kane turned and left.

Blade activated his com. "Team Magnus, meet me outside the complex in 2 minutes."

He grabbed his blaster and left the room.

    -------------------------

Obi Wan, Avaric, and Bastian slipped past several guards and were about to enter the senate chambers when Obi Wan froze.

"He's not in there," he said.

Bastian turned and looked at him. "Where is he?"

Obi Wan stared into space for a moment. "Padme..." He then looked to the two. "Come on, we have to move, now!"

Thanks for the info, Yodan. The name didn't look right to me when I typed it. I should have popped Ep 2 in before typing.

LadyNaye, Blade is not Force sensitive. However, being in the middle of war for those years tweaked his senses and intuition (I got the idea after reading several military novels). Oh and sorry, but Anakin bought it along with Mace. They were in the room surrounded by the troops when the order was given. I couldn't find a way for him to survive. Sorry again.

The next couple of stories should be a lot of fun to write! I love fight scenes!

    Part 14

The Citadel Cruiser entered realspace on the other side of the system that housed Kamino.

"Master Yoda," Jedi Knight Jonn said, "there's a ship on the other side of that asteroid." He looked at the screen again. "A Techno Union ship."

"Life signs, are there?" Yoda asked.

"Yes Master, as a matter of fact, they're hailing us."

Nearly an hour later, they were aboard the Techno Union ship, sitting before Wat Tambor and his droids. The Jedi nervously watched Tambor who just sat in his chair, holding his head in his hands.

"I left the room on Mustafar to speak with the captain when I heard blaster fire, and I found the clone troopers were killing the rest of the Sepratists. I fled immediately."

"Then why here, are you?" Yoda asked.

"Well, we felt threatened so I decided to take some troops here to get what information on the clones that might help us. I apologize for everything that has happened. Chancellor Palpatine was imposing so many restrictions on our technologies that we felt we needed to separate from the Republic to get our freedoms back. I never wanted all of this to occur."

"Deceived everyone, the Jedi included, Palpatine did," Yoda said. "But in the past, that was. The present, now important, it is. Learn anything useful, did you?"

"Nothing we could really use against the clones, though I found some interesting information on someone called Blade."

The Jedi all looked at each other. Yoda looked back to Tambor. "Leads the clone army, Blade now does. What did you learn?"

Tambor got up, walked over to a desk, and picked up a datapad before returning to his seat.

"It seems he was originally called Omicron 13."

Jonn's eyes widened. "From what I remember, Xi and Omicron were designations for defective clones, scheduled for termination."

"They are," Tambor agreed. "Apparently Omicron 13 reportedly was far sighted and his helmet had to be fitted with a special visor so he could see clearly. Also, he is fanatically compulsive. When given an order, he will not stop until he completes it. And that means destroying anything that interferes."

"But I thought all clones were like that," Jonn said.

"This is worse," Tambor answered. "According to this, he was on a simulated mission with a fellow clone to upload data. A Kaminoan scientist, noting the other clone was defective, from weak combat results apparently, and decalred him Omicron 12. He tried to terminate 12 right then and there, but 13...Blade stopped him, saying he needed 12 to complete the mission. When the scientist tried to proceed, Blade shot him and completed the mission. He was then immediately declared Omicron 13."

"So why wasn't he terminated?" Jonn asked.

""Because of me," Yoda answered. "Showed up at Kamino, I did, and ordered all troops to follow me to Genosis."

"Well, Master Yoda," Jonn replied. "As you said, we need to focus on the present." He turned to Tambor. "We planning to take over Kamino to keep the clone numbers from getting out of control."

"But an entire until of ARC's recently arrived there," Tambor argued. "You won't survive alone."

"Correct he is." Yoda turned to Tambor. "Help us, will you?"

Tambor thought about it for a moment, then turned to a monitor and typed some keys. Yoda saw over his shoulder what he had typed.

"Objective: Follow orders from Jedi Master Yoda."

    He turned back to Yoda.

"I'll do whatever I can to help."

    Part 15

Obi Wan, Averic, and Bastian, running towards the apartments, scattered as clone troops near the entrance opened fire. Obi Wan got pinned down from attacks from two sides. Averic and Bastian, standing behind opposite pillars, spun towards each other and leaped into the air, slicing through several troops like a blender. Seeing Obi Wan trapped, Averic started towards those troops shooting at him.

"I'll be all right there," Obi Wan yelled. "Go help Padme!"

    -------------------------------------

"We need to get out of here," Mon Mothma said to Padme.

They were seated in her apartment, with Jar Jar Binks.

"We can't leave without Bail, though," Padme said. "Maybe the Jedi can help us."

They started towards the door when it opened. They all leaped back as General Blade and his troops entered.

"Padme Amidala," Blade announced, "You are guilty of harboring a fugitive."

"There...there's no one else here," Padme said.

    "Yes," Blade snapped. "Right there."

He pointed his blaster at her chest and pulled the trigger.

Mon Mothma screamed and lunged forward, and the blast caught her in the chest instead. She dropped to the ground a limp heap. Blade raised his weapon to Padme when Averic and Bastian burst through the windows. Bastian lunged forward and sliced two troops.

"Go...get out of here!" Averic yelled.

Blade dropped his blaster and pulled out his electro staff. Bastian swung his saber, meeting Blade's staff, then launched a kick that sent Blade into a display case.

Averic, meanwhile, finished the troops in the hallway and raced after Padme and Jar Jar.

Bastian leaped over the display and swung his lightsaber. Blade met the blade with his staff, and the two exchanged several strikes. Blade then stepped forward and put all his power behind a strike that slammed into Bastian's lightsaber. Bastian lost his grip with one hand and stumbled back.

This was the opportunity Blade waited for. He reached out with one hand and grabbed Bastian's hand, snapping his wrist and sending his lightsaber across the room. Blade then kicked the Jedi in the ribs, dropped him on his back, and plunged his lightsaber into the Jedi's throat.

Turning, Blade rushed out of the room.

    Part 16

Padme and Jar Jar ran down the hallway and nearly smashed into Captain Antilles.

"We need to get out of here," Padme said. "Blade's trying to kill me."

"He already had Bail killed," Antilles said, tears still in his eyes. "He knows everything."

Padme covered her mouth with her hand and stumbled to the wall. "What? This is all my fault."

"No, Padme," Jar Jar argued. "Blade-sey didda theesa. It's-a his fault."

"Right now, we just have to get out of here," Antilles said. "I had Paige ready the Tantive. This way."

    -------------------------------

Blade ran out of the hallway, following Padme and Jar Jar to an outdoor landing pad. He froze, though, when he got to the doorway, knowing the Jedi was nearby but not seeing him.

On reflex, Blade raised his staff just as a lightsaber struck it, and Averic leaped from the roof overhead. Averic struck at Blade's staff with several furious strikes, as if to destroy the staff itself. Blade stopped when he realized he was being pushed to the edge of the platform, and shoved Averic back. Averic blocked a high strike and launched another kick to Blade's ribs, but this time, Blade saw it coming and slammed his elbow into the side of Averic's leg.

The Jedi fell to the ground and tried to recompose himself with a roll, but Blade leaped forward and slammed his foot on the Jedi's rest. Averic screamed in pain, but managed to kick Blade off of him. He spun around, but Blade caught him with a kick of his own to the ribs. Blade then swung his staff with all his strength and decapitated the Jedi. He then continued the chase.

Seeing them almost to the ramp, Blade stopped and pulled out his rifle. He looked into the sights and pointed his weapon right at Padme's chest. He then pulled the trigger.

The gungan somehow had some impressive instincts because he pulled out of the way. However, the gungan's reflexes weren't perfect as the shot did catch Padme in her side. She fell to the ground in Jar Jar's arms.

Antilles spun around and helped Padme up.

"Geteor on thea ship!" Jar Jar yelled.

"Here," Antilles said, tossing him a blaster. He helped Padme up the ramp into the ship.

Jar Jar pointed the blaster at Blade and fired. The gungan had courage, but he lacked aim as every shot easily missed. Blade, staff in hand, approached Jar Jar slowly.

"Yousa will not-a pass!" Jar Jar yelled.

Blade suddenly lunged forward, slapping the blaster away with his staff and grabbing the gungan by the throat. There was a loud Snap! And Blade sent the gungan's body tumbling to the ground. He then started up the ramp.

Suddenly, invisible hands grabbed onto Blade's shoulders and sent him off the ramp to the ground. He landed with a roll just as a lightsaber blade missed his body. He raised his staff to stop the blade as he looked into the eyes of another Jedi.

"Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi," Blade announced. "You are guilty of treason to the Galactic Republic."

"Then stop me," The Jedi snapped.

Blade swung his staff, trying to push the blade into the ground, but Obi Wan slipped past it and just missed Blade's head. He swung for Blade's head, but Blade blocked it. The two stopped in a stalemate, then Obi Wan held out his hand, and Blade felt those invisible hands again, this time slamming into his chest.

But war reflexes once again kicked in as Blade reached out and grabbed the Jedi's wrist, and both of them flew off the platform. Both men caught the weather vane and tried to climb it. Blade tried to punch Obi Wan, but Obi Wan flipped upward, catching the edge of the platform. Blade reached up and grabbed his foot, trying to use him to climb up.

Obi Wan looked down and kicked at him, catching him in the head and sending his helmet right off. He looked down in shock as Blade's head showed signs of fighting on the front lines for the entire war. Most of his hair was burned off, and scars and burns covered his face and head. While one eye was blue, the other was yellow, but the

Thanks, I just made a slight change in the conversation between Wat Tambor and Yoda about Blade. Actually, I just added a line that'll make something in the future make more sense.

Just for the record, I wasn't killing off characters to be cruel; I just went in the direction I felt the story should go and I went with my instincts. Padme's handmaiden was supposed to originally give her life, but I didn't think she had the handmaidens with her anymore, and Mon Mothma was the only one left in the room.

As for Jar Jar, I'd been reading how some people had wanted him to go out like a hero and some wanted him to go out like a b@#$%. Well I tried to give both groups what they wanted. Yeah, I ripped off Gandalf, but they did the same thing with Gavin Darklighter so it's more of a mirror event.

As for Blade vs. Obi Wan, I was looking for something in between Obi Wan/Jango Fett and Obi Wan/Grevious. From reading the ep3 book, I noticed that most non Force-users got slaughtered one-on-one against Jedi so Blade had to be an exception. I figured 3 years on the front lines would give him enough experience to be a match for a Jedi.

Glad everyone is enjoying the stories. I should have the next parts done by this weekend.

    Take care,

To those who remember this, sorry for being away so long, but my fiancee's friend, who was staying with us, got her grubby hands on my comp.

New GAR HQ, Coruscant, 18 hours after Directive Zero (GAR assumes full control of the Galactic Republic).

General Blade stumbled into the HQ, which once was Chancilor Palpatine's personal office until the Jedi Uprising. Commander Kane rushed over to him.

"Calm down sir," he said as he helped Blade to a seat. "You've gotten so used to a special visor that your eyes haven't adjusted yet. Give me an hour and I'll modify a new helmet for you."

"Until then," Blade said, raising his voice so everyone could hear him, "I want a report on that ship and its course."

"We're on it," a trooper before a holo screen said. "I've already got confirmation from sentries in Sector 421, sir."

Blade looked to Kane. "That was quick." He stood and, stumbled to the trooper, ignoring Kane's efforts to help.

"Put the sentry on speaker," he said, taking a seat next to the trooper.

"Soldier," the trooper next to Blade said into the microphone, "You said you have updated information on the Tantiv IV."

A moment later, a voice crackled from the speaker.

"Yes sir. We have visual confirmation that the ship...Tantive IV...is approaching Sector 421.."

"You already said that," Blade cut in. "What is the 'update?'"

"I am terribly sorry sir," came the reply, to which Blade saw Kane mouth the words, 'terribly sorry?' as he too listened. "We do not have visual confirmation yet, but we should within moments. We do know that Tantive IV is moving at sublight speed and possibly attempting light speed."

"Form a blockade and intercept the ship," the trooper at the computer ordered.

"Yes sir," came the reply. "Should we open fire in a preemtive strike, sir, or should we await-"

"You've already been ordered to open fire immediately upon visual confirmation!" Blade answered.

The voice replying suddenly grew nervous. "Uh....yes...yes sir...I am sorry...my mistake...Do you wish for us to take-"

"Soldier," Blade cut him off, "what is your five-digit Identification Number?"

The trooper next to Blade looked at him quizically while Kane stepped behind the trooper, nodding his head.

    "My five-digit...Inditificati-"

"Yes, your five-digit Indentification Number," Blade repeated.

    "My...five...five digit...Indentification Number is...1...23...45."

Blade leaped out of the chair, just missing Kane. "Lock that channel and trace it! And have Commander Cody meet me at the Liberator, and have Captain Sivrat ready the ship. We leave immediately."

"Sir, Blade," Kane called to him, "I'm not done with your new helmet."

"I'll make due," Blade answered, not looking back as he flew through the doorway and disappeared.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

"I am so sorry sir," C3P0 slumped in the seat before the Tantive IV's communications section said sadly, his voice returning from the human tone to his normal electronic voice. "I did not realize he was using the Identification Number-"

"It's okay, C3P0," Captain Antilles said, sitting next to him, "you did great. You might've bought us just enough time to escape."

"Confirm that!" Paige said at the controls. "We have just made the jump to lightspeed." He spun the shair around to face Antilles. "I told you I was good!"

Antilles chuckled and turned to the little droid positioned on the other side of C3P0. "R2D2, did you manage to scramble their sensors enough so they won't track us?"

    R2D2 beeped a reply.

"He said he confused the closest sensor and scrambled the source of C3P0's transmission," Paige translated. "He thinks it bought us time, but they'll track it sooner or later."

Antilles nodded. "Then we'll have to go back to our original plan with the minijumps. Do what you can to keep us off their charts."

Paige grinned, but the grin vanished as Obi Wan Kenobi entered the cockpit, his face pale and grim.

"Padme's stable, but we've got to get her help as soon as possible."

"There's one on Polis Masa," Antilles replied. "We'll try for there after we throw Blade's troops off our backs."
