Okay. Thanks for posting that. Glad to hear there weren't any legal issues with showing Avatar 2 footage.

I hope this means that Kevin Feige will be talking X-Men and Fantastic Four sooner than later because he has been tight lipped about those properties because of potential legal issues. But, I really don't expect him to because he said they won't be any official announcements of the MCU's future until after Spider-Man: Far From Home. But, I still want him to tease something or talk about X-Men and Fantastic Four the same way news of The Eternals and other films like Black Widow, Dr. Strange 2, etc have been talked about.

 

The deal is going to close soon. Per that article Mexico is the last international approval hurdle and they're supposed to render judgement on Monday. So barring any additional divestitures included in that it should wrap up soon.

 

Y'know, I woulda bet there would have been a new Endgame trailer attached to Captain Marvel but screenings start today and no murmur of it. Colour me surprised, I mean the #1 Endgame trailer will definitely be on Captain Marvel but they aren't putting out a new one with it. Maybe they don't want to trample of the hype for Captain Marvel's weekend. But, since it's not on CM, then I guess I'll try to bail to the (eventual) trailer #2 cuz not likely I'll get a chance to see it afterwards in theatres. It may end up tagged onto, like, Shazzam or something but like when I saw Aquaman, they had Endgame at the start of the trailer reel and the last few trailers were WB/DC properties (and I generally hit my seat about 2 trailers in).

 

Infinity War's second trailer dropped 5 weeks before it's release. If they're inclined to follow the same timing for Endgame then we're still a little outside of that window. It would drop 2 weeks from now. I think that's when it's likely to hit. A few flashes of CM in that could give it's third weekend a little bump. IF they show her in it at all (remember most of the stuff that will be shown in the trailers is supposed to be from very early in the movie). And that will give a week for the buzz to die down before Dumbo opens.

I'm guessing Monday April 1st on GMA we'll get a final trailer and tickets will go on sale afterwards and yes.

But, for me anyway, WS is something of a case in point. Many people state how tired they are of the stock-in-trade origin movie with respect to superheroes. Which I get. They all hit pretty much the same beats that people like us have seen all to many times. And maybe Steve is something of a special case as a man born into a different era. But WS can't be as good as it is without CA:TFA laying the groundwork for what that later movie set out to do. Maybe if you're familiar enough with the character you can get there without it but I'm glad we don't have to. That's why I tend to be a little more forgiving of origin movies simply being what they are and have to be. What comes after is where the true criticism should be brought to bear. And WS is one heck of a standard to be held up to.

There was a supposed leak from a distributor or theater not long ago that was saying April 2nd.

And I'm guessing no, Fandango won't crash.

Winter Soldier is still the only movie that even comes close to having enough of Sam Wilson and Falcon.

Steve and Natasha are so much fun together.

Interesting set up for Age of Ultron and Civil War.

 

The Russos didn't direct the first two Avengers movies but damn skippy their Cap movies are near required for their last two Avengers movies.

Speaking of Endgame and Captain Marvel (CM spoilers)

that mid-credits stinger in CM was totally Endgame footage, right? Must be early in the film as they're just wrapping their heads around what happened. Cap still rocking the beard too. Also they cut away after Carol's "Where's Fury" line (and her costume looked a little different to me) but I'm expecting a pretty funny reaction to her just randomly showing up.

 

Watched it yesterday but didn't stick around to the end. So seriously, what was the last stinger?
