Amph Avengers: Doomsday (and Secret Wars)

Feige has said that Marvel is done with the standard formula origin story. That's why Captain Marvel used the amnesia approach for her introduction. I think that may have even been one of the factors that caused them to choose do The Eternals in the first place (I can easily see them going with a Fellowship of the Ring style exposition introduction to the entire group as a launching point). I think it's going to be problematic to move completely away from it as things now stand though.

I know a lot of long time comic book fans are tired of the formula but I think that it might be a mistake for the MCU to just abandon that approach. Origins are kinda easy to do and somewhat predictable but it's also where the seeds are sewn for the emotional attachments that pay dividends later, much like what I mentioned before with Age of Ultron's Hawkeye home life scene. I mean just look at the most recent Endgame trailer. It's as effective as it is because it harkens back to those very rote origins where people first connected to those characters (possible exception for Thor. I think Ragnarok actually did a lot of that by softly rebooting him). It's much easier for those connections to form if we get to know them as something other than heroes or enhanced beings first.

 

Maybe we'll get to see who's more powerful, Dark Phoenix or Captain Marvel?

I love this poster more than the American one.

 

I like how they purposely show Banner in his boring normal form. After the first like 5 minutes of Infinity War all we got were a handful of Hulk teases throughout the rest of the movie.

 

This is without question the best theory I've seen suggested.

Dark Phoenix occurs in the 1990's, right? The consequences of that could force the X-men underground for the next 30 years or so. They could be subject to government prosecution and choose to go into hiding as a consequence. Then, in the present day MCU, they could choose to stop hiding and stand up for themselves. That could lead to confrontation between the X-men and the Avengers, then later a teaming up between the good mutants and the Avengers against the bad mutants and other bad guys.

 

Both universes had two of the same characters, so I think a complete reboot will happen. I also think it’s tge best idea all round.

 

The X-Men in the upcoming DP very publicly go to space to rescue astronauts aboard one of the space shuttles. It would be kinda hard to explain how something like that wasn't mentioned in connection to a government backed effort to "bring together a group of remarkable people" before now.

 

Guys, just please, don't order your tickets for this film until I do? Okay? Thx

I repeat my prior sentiment:

 

He'll swallow Thanos, gauntlet and all, then spit the later back out. Goose doesn't do Tums and Infinity Stones are known to bring on some mean indigestion.

 

I'm noticing something interesting on the international Endgame posters. The Chinese poster from before has a bit of Doctor Strange's runic circle as a motif surrounding the central grouping of heroes. And here on the Russian post there is the Mirror Dimension boundary to their right. Or maybe is Quantum Realm related.



I dunno if it's significant of anything, just interesting. I didn't notice anything like that on the first poster.

 

Not to mention continuity in the FoxVerse is a complete mess. No way Marvel wants to bring that into the MCU.
