Definitely stinks, but beware the real ones on or about Friday, April 12th as there's a tiny two screen theater about 45 minutes away from me that is showing the movie on that day. I asssume there are other theaters doing the same. I don't know how they got special clearance to show it 2 weeks in advance.

All this talk about issues with pre-sales and obvious sellouts during the opening weekend makes me thankful I have the excuse that I'll be out of town at the end of the month. I'll more than likely wind up seeing it around its second or third week.

This is a recording someone made at a mall in Mexico when a theater's ticket windows opened up yesterday.

    Mother of god ...

On Wednesday, AMC confirmed that the "unprecedented" number of fans trying to get Endgame tickets indeed crashed the company's site and mobile app with traffic volume approximately 10 times higher than normal, and double AMC’s previous record, a spokesman told The Hollywood Reporter. As with Fandango, Endgame was AMC’s new U.S. first-day presale record holder, beating Force Awakens by approximately 50%.

In fact, Endgame presales were three times more than Avengers: Infinity War its first day of ticketing, and AMC did more on for the first day for Endgame ticketing than the initial day of advance tickets for Infinity War, Captain Marvel, Black Panther and Last Jedi combined, according to the AMC spokesman.

Also on Wednesday, Fandango announced that Endgame not only produced the best first day of presales, but was the site's single best-selling day ever – topping any moviegoing day during the Christmas holidays over the last 19 years. That was also the case for the site's international brands with Endgame breaking records in 12 countries, according to a spokesman.

I wonder if you're going to see people selling their pre-sale tickets on eBay for profit.

That answer would be "yes". Individual tickets were already being listed in the 3 figures on eBay yesterday.

Unbelievable. I should've suggested it to my brother who's a ticket broker. He routinely deals with sporting events and concerts. Probably would've never thought about movie tickets since he barely goes to the cinema himself.

I never noticed that ''blood'' reference from Iron Man 2 before. Good one.

Endgame probably has the best shot at finally toppling Avatar. 3B possible? [face_hypnotized]

Maybe. Avatar is under 3 hours. But Endgame is shorter than Titanic. That should be the marketing push in the first week of May.
"Go back again and experience Endgame a second time! It's not as long as Titanic."

That's the only thing I'm afraid of. I'll be going my first time to see the movie within its second or third week; and by that time you'll surely get those just can't wait to see it again people who can be obnoxious in the theater making noises at hints during pivotal scenes they already know about.

Just gonna paste my post from the Ep IX BO thread:

I really don't see Endgame equaling or surpassing Avatar's worldwide total. Just look at how some of Infinity War's foreign totals stack up to some of Avatar's to get a sense of how much of an uphill battle that is going to be. In China IW pulled in almost $360M to Avatar's $204M and it was still $740M shy globally because the later did double, triple, and even quadruple IW's numbers in so many other foreign markets due, in part, to the exchange rates back at the time. A year isn't long enough to shift things that favorably for Endgame to match that record.

If you're talking only Box Office, sure; Infinity War could break those numbers all across the board. But what was so impressive about Titanic was that it stayed #1 in the box office for like three months; well past the holidays. Given the movies coming out over the next few months, I doubt it would hold the top spot for so long.

    Irony:

Used to have to wait in line for hours to get tickets/good seat. Then people started getting tickets online. Of course, they had to wait for hours to get tickets online yesterday. I simply walked in the theatre and got mine in under a minute.

Meaning you were the only one who didn't buy their tickets online?

Re: the BO, just echoing my comments (probably from the BO thread), but the release schedule is too packed in May and June for a film to reach Avatar-levels because Avatar (and, to a lesser extent, TFA) had it's performance significantly boosted by having not just the holiday launch window but the typical Jan/Feb dead zone (and Mar wasn't even that big back in 2010- Alice in Wonderland was the only really big movie that month and next big genre film really wasn't until April with Clash of the Titans- and by then, Avatar was cleaning up with the first DVD release). Doesn't matter what legs a film has if it doesn't have room to walk along.

EG will do just fine, but it'll run up against Godzilla, Pikachui and John Wick within weeks. And while it may fend off one or two of them, they'll still be eating into EG's BO by, at the very least, providing alternatives to repeat viewings.

So what’s the bet with the post credit scene? Or scenes?

    A; nothing

B; something random / funny like Spider-Man homecoming or the avengers

C; something tying up a fan fav character

    D; something to do with the next phase and Fox deal;

An MCU character drives past a gate ‘Xavier’s school for gifted...’

An MCU character sees something to do with wolverine

An MCU character meets Richard reeds or walks into his office

    Victor doom

    Galactictus

    Silver surfer

    Any guesses?

Probably too soon to include anything from X-Men or Fantastic Four but it would be funny if we see Deadpool waiting to be interviewed at the Avengers facility now that there's some openings on the team. :p

I’m betting that one post-credit scene will be:

Assuming that Cap dies in this one, there will be a scene of him walking into that ballroom we saw in Age of Ultron and finally getting that dance with Peggy.

If Cap dies, we see someone picking up the shield- probably Bucky, maybe Falcon. If they really are setting up a Next Avengers down the road, then something to do with the children in present day that re-hints towards their future heroships.

Since they're aiming this to be the end of an era/Saga, I'm thinking they won't have any overt teases of major villains [ie: whoever the next Thanos is], new heroes [Foxverse acquisitions] or huge cliffhanger teases for the next new movie series [ie: Eternals, Shang-Chi]. I think they'll want to cap this one off somewhat and take that breather to build up the next Saga over the next Phase.

So, I think most stingers will probably be about tying up lose ends from this movie/Saga- though a Spidey tease wouldn't seem all that out of place, given it's out next and (seemingly) largely a stand-alone.
