Hi, Ralph, welcome to the C-IV board! Are you staying at the Figueroa like so many people are? It's going to be fun over there!

The love for SW knows no age limits. We have it all, from 3-year olds to 83-year olds. I think that's what makes SW such a long-lasting piece of American movie history.

    You've gotta love it...

Average age (for those who have posted their age in this thread) is 31 yrs .... up to this point

I agree w/ (and will elaborate on) what navarre1095 stated, Understanding it's all evolution, after '77 everything (movie Sp. FX) have gone into hyperspace

That is so funny, Capt, I was just going to "do the math" so I could post an update! Thanks for beating me to it; knowing me, I would have gotten it wrong :).

Well, I'll be 40 in November with a 10 yr old son who is a jedi in training! I'm sorta a first generation fan, but dropped out for a long time (long story) and now I am back since Episode 2!

Okay, here's a flip-side question for you...especially those of us who are 1st Generation, or at least old enough to see ROTJ in theatres in 1983. (Basically anyone over 27)

How old did you feel when you saw the prequels? Did you feel like you got thrown back to your childhood?

Nope, my childhood was far enough away that that didn't enter into it LOL. Maybe if so many years hadn't passed in between.... but really, no. Mine was definitely just a grown-up reaction, just happiness at being able to see a SW movie again.

I'm another youngling or at least 24.

I remember when I was at C3 me and my friends were all so amazed what a diverse age there was on the fans. The only thing remotely resembling a con here in Sweden are more or less flea-markets with a few guest who sells autographs so the only ones there are 12 year old boys. You feel very alone if you are past 20 and a girl at that!

It did and it didn't, mostly NO, It did NOT feel like my original time through the OT - I did enjoy the experience very much (as a 1st Generation SW Fan) but it was just different

When I talk to my parents on the phone, they always tell me how I can make some nice lady a great husband if only I would grow up and get rid of my Star Wars collectibles and figures. I respond back with Anger, Fear, hate leads to the darkside and no one is worth that. If they can't except me for who I am then its not worth my time.

I unfortunately didn't get the chance to see the OT in theatres, I still remember watching them at home when the THX videos were first released. I did though get to see the special editions in theatres which really made my day.

As for the prequels, I was just excited that there was another Star Wars movie in theatres. Seeing the huge STAR WARS flash on the screen in all it's glory made me cry. [face_love]

I'm 20 now btw, I was 13 when TPM came out.

I felt young again, when I was sitting in the theather when TPM started and you hear the Music and see the words on the screen, I was taken back to my childhood, the facination of that first movie, the total awe..... and I was sooooo fortunate to have my son at my side..... I was a little emotional with the music and all a single tear fell down my cheek, he looked at me, asked "are you alright?" I said "yes.... that I was so glad to be sharing something from my childhood with him" and now he's an avid fan like me.......

I always wondered what took George so long, but now I'm glad of the distance between the PT and OT, since I was able to share it with my son, it will be something we will always share! C4 here we come!
