I agree. Bane is just another bland Duros without them.

Even if he's a new character still, the hat (and tubes, I guess) is totally iconic for him already. I still have a hard time seeing him without his hat, truth be told. It just doesn't seem 'natural' to have him without it for long periods of time.

Cad Bane without his HAT! The hat makes the man. That's like asking Indiana Jones
to toss out his fadora or Sherlock Holmes to throw away his deerstalker.

    Blasphemous!

Personally, I think Bane looks badass and awesome either way, but I prefer him with his hat. Tubes too. :D

The hat is cool, but his breathing tubes look kinda silly since he doesn't need them most of the time.

Yeah, the breathing tubes better come in handy a couple of times. The problem is that I fear they'll eventually simply throw Bane in the vacuum of space and use the breathing tubes as an excuse of why he's able to withstand it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did that sooner or later.

The only thing I want to know is how do the breathing tubes actually help Bane breath in other atmospheres. It's been revealed that they are not attached to his face and that there are no holes in his cheeks. Maybe I'm missing an EU explanation here but shouldn't he be wearing some sort of mask for the tubes to work within the same principles as human anatomy?

Uh, where has it been revealed that the tubes have no connection through the cheeks?

In children of the force there are no holes in his cheeks when he doesn't have his bounty hunting costume on and his clone helmet is knocked off. So I'm just assuming that there is now way the connection can be made.

Try as I may, and with better quality pics, I have to agree with Chewgumma here. There are holes in his head, although I believe they are orifices to facilitate hearing(like a Duros version of ears.) and they're not quite in the right place for the tubes to attach.

I'm assumuing that there is something such as a connection or interface deep under his skin that when he reattaches the tubes it mates with them(I'm not a cybernetics expert, so this is just a wild guess.:p ). Like I said awhile back, I do hope that some guide or article will explain it further since it's been bugging me too.

Yeah, that's false. I believe Ultimate Battles revealed that Bane's tubes connect directly to his windpipe, and then an article on SW.com said they were embedded in his cheeks.

But Children of the Force proved both of these theories wrong, the pipes are quite clearly attached to his cheeks, not his windpipe and there would have been holes in his cheeks if there was a connection, there was no evidence of this when his helmet was knocked off.

Then was miscommunication, or the animators/designers completely did not knew. His tubes do look bolted down into his cheeks; however, no traces of holes are seen. Since CotF fails to notice what other TCW sources say then this is a canon-conflicting error.

I don't think TCW team would get so sloppy given what fan base they are working for. Source?

The Lord of the Rings fan base. :p What fan base do you think the Clone Wars is aimed at. [face_laugh]

You mention no sources in your above post, I just see fanon.

Why don't you guys just go with the idea that the tubes act as "filters" that can work through phasing by his cells? o_O
That is how I've always looked at it.

Bane looks cool either way, but I'm not sure about his look with the tubes but no hat.
    Looks:
    1) Hat/Tubes/Coat
    2) Tubes/Coat
    3) Hat/Tubes
    4) Pilot Gear/Tubes/Coat
    5) None of the Above

Holocron Heist really had a variety.

My personal preference is Bane with his whole kit on. It's nice to see him with different combinations, but he really shines when he's got all the gear on.

As for the tube connections, I do believe it was an oversight of the animators not to include some sort of plug on his cheeks when he's not wearing the tubes. I guess they thought the shot was too brief to worry about it. Worse oversights have happened before, so I prefer to think it was just an animator's mistake, than to think that the air of the tubes has to be filtered through the skin of his cheeks or some other nonsense. (Just like I prefer to think it was an animator's mistake in Gungan General and not that Obi-Wan was hiding his lightsaber in a body cavity throughout the episode.)

I guess it depends on one's preference...myself, I think Fistofan's theory may be plausible since the one pic I have of a close up of his face right before he jumps into hyperspace after escaping the Resolute shows a raised area of skin right above the jawline...perhaps that's where the 'filtering' occurs?

But in all probability, it could be an animation error, although you do see his face for several seconds, it's not like it's a quick pan and he's gone and you may not notice it, you have several seconds(and alot of pausing:p ) to take it in and wonder about it.
