Animated Shorts Barriss Offee

In perfect symmetry in relation to something else? Most ships are symmetrical themselves, including SDs. So I’m not sure what this means.

 

It's a visual thing unrelated to the design of the ships, and I struggle to describe it...

The ships (in the TV series) sometimes appear (usually from overhead) with the exact middle of the ship, in the middle of the screen, proceeding in a dead straight line. It looks quite artificial, static - like a cut-out.

There are plenty of times where the action shots are much more dynamic and off-centre. And everything looks great.

When you see it, you'll see it again and again.

(An example, if I recall correctly, would be Thrawn's ship. The visual shot I don't like happens a couple of times with that).

 

I keep thinking of an animated Hidden Path show featuring the prequel B/C/D Team of Ventress, Vos, Barriss, Cody, Dex, etc. and I'm not sure if I love the idea or think it's dumb. I guess both?

Super glad Barriss is getting some closure, and Luminara hopefully will too. Both have really been underexplored in my opinion, especially now that Luminara could potentially be over a century old.

Vos remains King of the Loose Threads. Hid so well after Order 66 that even the writers can't find him after nearly 20 years.

 

Speaking of Quinlan Vos, i can see him living to the events of OT and him being one of Darth Vader's final Jedi kills. He lives long enough to save many Jedi with the Path and killing Inqusitors. He be almost 60 by OT like Obi Wan Kenobi. Say like Vader is in a bacta tank in Rogue One because of Quinlan Vos!

 

Ah, I see. I generally don’t like centering the main object in a composition either. It’s a general aesthetic rule not to do that. But there are times to break the rule - sometimes it’s successful and other times not. On the ship end of things, I agree (for example it’s never done in Andor), but not in all instances. Depends on the rest of the composition, etc. But yeah, I get what you mean, and it’s not my favorite thing.

 

I do wonder if they'll finally confirm that it was Barriss who killed Luminara and the Grand Inquisitor just watched it as part of Barriss' trials.

For the longest time, Luminara's conspicuous (and temporarily) survival as an Imperial prisoner with modern Stormtroopers was always odd in Rebels. Like why Luminara specifically? She was supposed to be killed on Kashyyyk in Order 66 or otherwise Yoda wouldn't have abandoned her in his escape. And given the Stormtrooper armor, it seems like she was captured fairly late.

It could have been any other Jedi whose fate wasn't accounted for. Like Tera Sinube, for example. But Luminara's appearance just happened to hit a particular memory for fans of The Clone Wars. It was shortly after Season 5 ending with the revelation that Barriss Offee was actually a traitor to the Jedi Order (and framed Ahsoka Tano), and she happened to be Luminara's apprentice as well as being incarcerated in Republic custody (which is so to be the Empire).

And it didn't take much for the idea of the Inquisitor to be applied to Barriss once Filoni revealed there's more than one and they were fallen Jedi who may have been in TCW.

 

I still think all the TV shows should’ve been animated, except with the exception of Andor. But I’m not in charge so

 

After thinking about little longer, i think we will see her training to become an Inqusitor for only one episode. And she fights the jedi in second episode with Fourth Sister. Third episode will be her fully committed to The Inqusitors or leaving them. Similar journey like Reva. With Morgan Elsbeth we gets hints at where all her episodes lands on timeline, but not Barriss, only two episodes with third no clue. And i think like Morgan, we will see some time from first to third episode. 5 years probably, making it after Bad Batch and Fallen Order.

 

He has the most storyline potential during the dark times. Behind one of the ones making The Path and helping force sensetive children. Being on Empire's most wanted, living until up to Kenobi and Survivor. He s maybe the only Jedi Master around helping during whole Reign of the Empire.

I don't know who this person is btw, and I watched the first four seasons of TCW a couple years ago

 

Since we don't know when Luminara died, no one can say if Barriss killed her. I doubt she does do the deed. She is incarcerated when Order 66 is issued so I don't think their paths crossed. The way Kallas told that Luminara had been attracting Jedi rescues for some time, has always made feel like she was killed early on in the dark times.

 

Master Luminara Undulili was on Kashyyyk and as seen in hologram was arrested and put in prison, was it a fake recording?

 

I really hope they don't have Barriss kill her. The scene with Luminara's death in Rebels is so memorable: her walking to her own automated death, resigned, full of poignant despair just hits.

Having Barriss kill her, directly or indirectly, feels - for the lack of a better word - played out. Oh no, the student has to kill her master to prove she's really evil and has cut all ties bla bla bla how heartbreaking.

Don't recycle a borderline iconic moment. Make a new iconic moment.

 

I think Barriss will certainly be present. The look that holo-Luminara gives Kanan and Ezra could have been directed at Barriss in real time.

 

Honestly, I don't even want her present.

 

Wonder if Barriss' arc is going to end on cliffhanger, with her finding the Sixth Brother's plague doctor-Inquisitor's body and starting to track the murderer.

 

Ok so how old is Barriss Offee. She looks like teenager in Clone Wars and more adult in ATOC. I would guess at minimum 16 as she also fights on Geonosis, making her 2-3 years older then Ahsoka. And she has been fighting since the beginning of the war. Also she is refferenced as a healer in canon like she was in legends. She is probably 20 in Tales of The Empire first episode.

 

The reason why it's speculated that Luminara was killed by Barriss for almost 11 years is because Luminara's look of despair doesn't feel as impactful if it's a generic the Jedi are all gone that Rebels seemed to imply.

She would remain defiant to the end no matter what. So better way to make her give into despair is to see what happened to her apprentice. Not only did Barriss survived, but she has become an agent of the Dark Side. Hunting other Jedi. For Luminara, she could only ask herself where did she go wrong with Barriss and if she could even look at Barriss anymore. For any Jedi Master, the ultimate despair has been seeing their own protege be the reason for the galaxy's pain.

 

I think Barriss will be witness to it, but really not wanting to be there. Her reaction will be a sort of loyalty test, and it'll be a major catalyst for her to at least attempt to leave the Inquisitorius.

 

I think unlike. Morgan Elsbeth's story thats just backstory. Barris Offee's story arc will lead into the next animated show. With The Path that involves Ventress and Vos.

 

Did anyone know that Barriss Offee was a Jedi Knight in clone wars season 5. I thought she was still a padawan. In legends she had her own padawan. So between seasons 2 and 5 she was knighted. And 20 during that arc making her 3 years older then Ahsoka. Making her 21-22 in Tales of the Empire.

 

According to Star Wars Encyclopedia, she did become a Jedi Knight near the end of the war just like in Legends.

 

Maybe it doesn't necessarily have to be retconned/recycled. I remember I'd always thought that Luminara had that look on her face as she was walking to the sarcophagus that there was someone familiar who was directly in her line of sight. She was looking at Kanan in that Holo like she knew him, but obviously it wasn't meant like that.
