I am fairly certain at some point the new DC movie universe, there will be Kryptonite. Just maybe not two movies in. I can deal with that.
http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/03/gal-godot-becoming-wonder-woman Gal Godot: 'It’s impossible not to be a little nervous' about playing Wonder Woman 'She's the gateway drug to the Justice League,' says director Zack Snyder "I wish she were six inches taller and a little bit more muscular, but overall she looks pretty damn good and I love that metallic costume," says Internet nobody Hogarth Wrightson.
I like the costume, but I don't think she needs to be taller or more muscular. All of her powers are supernaturally-based; and she taught athletics for the IDF in real life. She's good.

She's good. dp4m, I see what you mean about the supernatural provenance of her powers. But look, Superman's powers derive from the yellow sun and Earth's gravity, and he is nonetheless impressively muscular. Also Diana is described as an Amazon, so one expects a certain stature and tone in keeping with that descriptor. Further, as a child of the 70s it's difficult to get the image of Lynda Carter out of me head, and she was tall and statuesque (though not necessarily muscular). And finally, in modern comics WW is tall and athletically muscled; see esp. the paintings of Alex Ross. I think Godot looks amazing and beautiful and fits the bill as the character... except for a lack of muscularity (despite her athletic training she is still slender and relatively flat-chested) and height. But with all that said, I'm happy to wait and see how she looks in the finished film.
That's fair (totally fair). Just generally -- and yes, this is stereotyping -- when people on the interwebs say "I wish she had more muscles!" what they really mean is "I wish she had bigger boobs!" which is... irrelevant. And I loved Linda Carter. Between her and Erin Grey (and Mathilda May in Lifeforce) I'm pretty sure that's how I hit puberty
when people on the interwebs say "I wish she had more muscles!" what they really mean is "I wish she had bigger boobs!" which is... irrelevant. In a sense I'm guilty as charged, because I sincerely want both: more toned musculature and bigger boobs. Not for any prurient interest, but because the traditional depiction of WW includes a larger bust than what Godot has. I like my superheroes to look as close to their comic book sources as possible. You should hear me rail about how both Daredevil and the Flash should have reddish blond hair! These men are not brown-haired or brown-eyed! It's a sacrilege not to dye the actors' hair! But I've already conceded that I'm an Internet nobody, so my opinion is not all that meaningful.
Yeah I do feel bad for her because she's going to get the most scrutiny when the movie comes out. Honestly, between the ton of fanboy complaints and with every female role in a movie being put on a McCarthy Hearing for sexism... i don't envy her. She's taller than most of the actresses fans casted for the role. And I can see why being a bit more muscular would be nice, but at the same time there's nothing really wrong with the way Gal looks now. And Gal having a more agile and lithe figure probably makes more sense when compared against the bulky Batman and Superman, makes her stand out and offers her more chance to stand out if she can fight circles around the both of them by being faster and more agile.
People exaggerate just how "muscular" WW is traditionally drawn as being. She's usually (not always) drawn as being fit/athletic, but she's never really been massively "big and bulky." That goes all the way back to Marston's original design.
All I hear is Lego Batman's song from The Lego Movie: DARKNESS NO PARENTS CONTINUED DARKNESS MORE DARKNESS GET IT? THE OPPOSITE OF LIGHT!!! BLACK HOLE CURTAINS DRAWN IN THE BASEMENT MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BLACKED OUT WINDOWS BLACK SUIT BLACK COFFEE You get it that's just the first verse! DARKNESS NO PARENTS SUPER RICH KINDA MAKES IT BETTER!!!!!
(FYI, when I hit the "Reply" button it won't copy the post I'm replying to for some reason.) GenAntilles: She's taller than most of the actresses fans casted for the role. That goes all the way back to Marston's original design. I agree with all of this. I don't mean to resurrect the stupid controversy about Godot's figure. She looks amazing, has a remarkable biography, and I think I may be falling in love with her. That said, I have in my mind this image of Amazonian perfection -- part Lynda Carter, part Alex Ross painting, part Jose Garcia-Lopez drawings from the 70s. All of those Wonder Women are taller and more statuesque than Godot. But I'm absolutely willing to wait and see how she looks in the film: how they frame her, how she's presented in terms of power and presence and charisma. Obviously Ian Holm and Elijah Wood are not 3'6", but they're convincingly presented as such in the LOTR films. And on the EW cover Diana is clearly shown as being almost as tall as Supes and Bats. Cinema is illusion, after all.
http://io9.com/zack-snyder-finally-defended-the-carnage-in-man-of-stee-1715766431 I was surprised [at the fans' backlash] because that’s the thesis of Superman for me, that you can’t just have superheroes knock around and have there be no consequences. Also: http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2015/...stice-hints-brainiac-as-a-future-villain.html There are other superhero movies where they joke about how basically no one’s getting hurt. That’s not us. What is that message? That’s it’s okay that there’s this massive destruction with zero consequence for anyone?” Snyder continued,“I remember talking about ‘What’s the next villain? ‘We can’t do another alien invasion.’ Metallo, I think, was going to be the main bad guy of this movie…Brainiac was definitely down the road.”
I still find it odd that it's coming out in March. I know Cap 3 refused to budge, but this feels like a summer blockbuster.
Assuming Alfred is referencing Clark, I love the fact that he's standing up to Bruce. Also, Martha Kent is 100% right. The action is great and what will excite the masses, but the dialogue is what I loved most.
It's looking great, but I'm wary of trusting a Sneider trailer. And we get to see the Wayne's murdered again! Woooohoooo!!!!!&))!!!!
