what destiny did Jacen fulfill?

I always just viewed it as delusional by Jacen, considering only he thought it was his destiny

especially considering this era of peace was only brought about once Jacen stopped being the cause of a lot of problems

I agree. If the Jedi hadn't stopped Jacen, the war would have continued.

It also seems to me that it was Jacen/Lumiya who caused the disagreements between the GA and the Corellians/Confederation to escalate into a war in the first place.

 

I absolutely agree, CoW. I felt that Jacen and Lumiya's involvement is what made Jacen's dark visions come to pass in the first place, very much like is grandfather in that regard.

 

Very much like Anakin, then. He brought balance to the Force by "killing" the Emperor (who is "evil"), but only after doing great damage to the Jedi (who are "good"). Jacen brought peace by dying ("evil" dies?) but only after doing great damage to the Jedi, the GA, and the galaxy in general ("good").

 

I think that Jacen would more fit into the Palpatine role. He didn't exactly have anyone to answer to.

 

my only problem with that is that Anakin Skywalker actually did a deed that lead to peace or balance, despite all the bad he did

Jacen never did a good deed like that
he only became evil and then was defeated by the jedi
So Jacen didnt "bring" any peace
It's like giving him credit for it despite the fact that he was a main part of the problem
Once he was gone, then peace came
He was in the way of peace
