Best line in ROTS

Padme says to Anakin (twice, I think): "You've been under a lot of stress lately."

LOL! Since when do characters in the Star Wars universe talk about "stress." Should Anakin reply, "Yeah, I've been, like, really stressed lately."

Another great anachronism from the pen of GL. On a par with, "Anakin, I'm pregnant."

okay, the best line EVER in the entire Star Wars saga would have to be:
Anakin: "Is this what you call diplomatic reasoning?"
Padme: "No, this is what I call agressive negotiation!"

(Star Wars Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones, during the battle with Jedi against the bad guys after Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Padme have escaped from the animals. this line is spoken when Anakin and Padme duck into the overturned sleigh like thing for shelter)

but the best line in RotS? when R2-D2 electrocutes one of the tall droids and the droid says 'ow' and kicks over R2...*cracks up laughing again*

 

You know, I think we've all seen the movie. We know what part that is. And the lines are "Is this what you call a diplomatic solution?" "No, I call it aggressive negotiations!"

padme: i don't know you anymore.. anakin your breaking my heart... your going down a path i can't follow.

anakin: because of obi wan?

padme: becuase of what you've done, what you plan to do. Stop stop now come back, I love you

MAYBE i've seen it tooooo many times, lol.

 

its always cool when people can memorize the script of a film.

Obi gets award for coolest one liners..both from the Palps resuce sequence
"chancellor palpatine..Sith Lords are our specialty*i love how he pronounce it!*"
"Do you have a plan B" smart ass Obi in full effect there!

Palps "I am the senate" is just plain awesome.

my favorite lines are still anakin's on mustafar...

"LIAR"
he has just been dealt the ulitmate betrayal...his wife, the person he has done ALL of this for has sided against him and he conveys this with just that one word. Brillant line and brillant acting...

you will try
there is such determination there..and such arrogance. and to me its the first time we really see the OT vader persona. He is controlled and focused.. his mind unclouded by emotions the way I think Vader is when he fights in the OT.

 

That final confrontation has the best dialogue from any film I've seen easily, althouigh Sam's speech in 2 towers is real good too.

 

I'm still kind of partial to "...he was an unarmed prisoner," in reference to Dooku.

 

Yeah I quite liked that too. You know the more I think about it, the more I feel that the dialogue in this film isn't the rubbish the critics make it out to be. Sure there are a few awkward moments, but there are some excellent ones to balance it out.

 

Favorite humor line: When R2 emits a VERY distinguishable "Uh oh" during the crash of the Hand.

Favorite dramatic line: toss-up -- either "I did this for you" or "If you are not with me, then you are my enemy"

Favorite lines from book that should have been in movie: SEPARATIST: "You're Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi knight," VADER: "the resemblance is deceptive." (I imagine Hayden delivering this line with the same sort of tone as "Apology accepted, Captain Needa").

 

Okay, best LINE: "Don't try it" - Obi-Wan Kenobi
Of course, this is right after Obi-Wan has lept up on the lava hill, gaining the high ground on Anakin. Anakin, being the stubborn one he is, thinks he can make it higher. Obi-Wan pleads with him, "Don't try it." The way he says it, you can tell Obi-Wan wanted the duel to end there; he didn't want to be forced to kill Anakin. In a sense, he's almost pleading, begging, with Anakin to just give up and walk away.

Best SCENE: "You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!" - Obi-Wan Kenobi
What else is there to say? The desperation in Obi-Wan's voice at this point in the movie, it's so real. I mean, think about it: he just horribly disfigured, nearly KILLED, his student, the one he had been training constantly for the last 13 years. The on'e he's raised for the last 13 years. Who wouldn't be upset?

 

STRICTLY sticking with one line ... one of Palpatine's to Anakin/Vader that stick in the mind...

"Do what muuuusst be done !"

 

suprisingly i found plenty of great lines...

But the worse had to be anakin saying
If your not with me
then you are my enemy....



It would have sounded better if anakin said

If your not with me
then you are against me

 

are you threatening me master jedi.


It really shows the character of sidious

 

The entire exchange between Yoda and Sidious.
But if I had to pick one line, it would be:
Yoda:" If so powerful you are, then why leave"?

"The Prophecy misread could have been" Yoda
"Your move?" Obi Wan to Grievous.
"I have failed you Anakin..." maybe the best in the entire saga along with "I am your father"

the worse:

"Oh Anakin". Padme
"Obi Wan was right" Padme
"Oh was you" Obi wan at the elevator
"Did you press the buttom?" Obi Wan in the same elevator
"Because I AM so in love with you" stupid and wooden dialogue between Anakin and Padme.

Except for a couple really bad dialogues (like these last ones) the lines were far better than before including the Original Trilogy, the lines of Palpatine and his expressions are really good and credible, the dialogues between Yoda and Darth Sidious, Mace an Obi Wan are great too. I think that Haydeen Christensen is not a vey good actor but he improved a lot the acting when he performed with Palpatine and when he talks to Obi Wan after the Council asked him to spy the Chancellor.

 

I liked the droid's sarcastic "you're welcome" to Grievous as the general snatches the lightsabers from his hands

 

Learn to know the dark side of the force, and you can learn the power to protect your wife...from certain death.
