Best line in ROTS

"Once more the Sith will *rule* the galaxy..."
I probably say this at least once a week, with the cool emphasis Ian put on it.

"I hate you!"
Classic. Especially the spit coming out of his mouth, and the yellow eyes. Wheew.

Oh, and about the "little green friend" line - does any body else realize this is the only time in the entire six films that a color is actually mentioned. Color is so important in the movies, light and dark, yet no one ever mentions it (I don't like this line, it ruins that).

 

"Your new empire? Anakin my loyalities are to the Republic, to Democracy!" Even though I don't like democracy that much, it was just delivered so well.

"YOU LOOSE KENOBI" That was great


"Hello there" I cried because that is my favorite line in the OT.

 

"Your new empire? Anakin my loyalities are to the Republic, to Democracy!" Gives me chills every time.

After one of the 501st says to Bail that it's time for him to leave, Bail's resopnce of "And so it is." Not only was it brilliant acting, but it meshed with the music so well, and although it could have very well been an insignificant line, it is very powerful.

"Once more the Sith will rule the Galaxy! And there shall be, peace." I love how peace is just barely a whisper.

"Anakin's the father, isn't he? I'm so sorry." I loved this line. Ewan delivered it with both a feeling that Obi-Wan was truly sorry, but also with bitter sarcasm as if he was blaming Padmé partially for Anakin's fall.

 

I still think " If what you tell me is true, then you will have earned my trust " it get's funnier every time.

"Lord Vader, can you hear me?"

 

"Power! Unlimited power!" -Darth Sidious (Due entirely to McDiarmid's masterful delivery, this is not only the best line in ROTS, but one of the most memorable in the history of cinema.)

Other favorites include:

"I am the Senate." -Chancellor Palpatine (Again, McDiarmid's delivery is what gives this line its punch.)

"Once more the Sith will rule the galaxy, and we will have peace." -Darth Sidious (See above.)

"No! No, no, you will die!" -Darth Sidious (At first I thought this line seemed too Gollum-like, what with the hand gesture and all, but it really grew on me.)

"I know you would. I can feel your anger. It gives you focus, makes you stronger." -Chancellor Palpatine (This one gave me chills the first time I heard it. It's positively dripping with the Emperor's silky venom. Fantastic.)

"The end of the war is near, General. Soon I will have a new apprentice, one far younger and more powerful." -Darth Sidious (Not quite on par with the others, but [insert a line about McDiarmid's delivery here].)

"Twisted by the Dark Side young Skywalker has become. The boy you trained, gone he is, consumed by Darth Vader." -Yoda (This is a beautiful line. So satisfying for so many reasons. It hits all the right notes.)

"Where is Padme? Is she safe? Is she alright?" -Darth Vader (This is great to hear coming from Darth Vader.)

"You were the Chosen One! It was said you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!" -Obi-Wan Kenobi (This one needs no explanation.)

"So this is how liberty dies: with thunderous applause." -Padme Skywalker (This is Padme's best line in the whole of the PT. George made a big mistake in shortchanging her character by cutting the Rebellion subplot. Bad George, no biscuit.)

"No, it's because I'm so in love with you." -Anakin Skywalker (Just kidding. Hah.)

great line, i thought hayden delievered it awesome. i remember the 1st time i saw the movie and vader said it i totally believed it. i clearly remember think vader is really going to kill obi-wan! what is gl doing? is this some sort of surprise ending?

 

a pick from these:

Obi-Wan: You were the chosen one!...etc.

Palpatine: Are you threatening me, Master Jedi?

Anakin: You underestimate my power/s!

or

Anakin: I will bring peace and order with my new Empire!
Obi-Wan: Your new EMPIRE?!
(this was great, since we already knew about the Empire, but here it sounded like something new...oooh goosebumps!)

I think these lines were some of the best that Anakin said as a young man (even if "You underestimate..." made him sound like an angry child, but his crying out when defeated served well to make him sound like an angry child who got his botty spanked).

 

Oh, and about the "little green friend" line - does any body else realize this is the only time in the entire six films that a color is actually mentioned. Color is so important in the movies, light and dark, yet no one ever mentions it (I don't like this line, it ruins that).

There's the scene in ANH when Luke and Uncle Owen are buying the droids. They refer to the R5 unit that goes bad as the "red one", and R2 as "the blue one". And all the X-wing pilots have colored call signals, like Red 5 and Green Leader.

Anything Palpatine/Darth Sidious said was excellent for me.

My most overused quote from ROTS that I constantly say is "Just as Count Dooku predicted!"

 

The best line in ROTS was when the emperor does that little "Yeah"
thingy or "Git'em", whatever he says it so funny.

 

Oh yeah, how could I forget about that? It made me smile so much each time I saw ROTS!

 

There's something about that line, isn't there? It become a favourite for quite a few people, just it's such a small simple line. It's definitely one where you can say the delivery and the scene make it memorable.

The basic meaning is of course that Bail is leaving so as not to annoy the men with the big guns. But the way he says it, the look on his face, to me it seems to be saying "I see how things are going around here...this is how it's going to be." Bail seems to be resigned to not only leaving the Temple, but Coruscant and the Republic itself. He really seems gutted.

 

I love that one.

Revenge of the Sith was a masterful movie, wasn't it? The critics will just never get it. To me, the script was a perfect comic book entity - elevated with lofty deliveries and scene chewing goodness. Just forget everything else; even on their own, all of Lee's lines are wonderful. They DESERVE to be up there with the very best of the OT. Let's try it, in fact:

"Impressive, most impressive"
"Surely you can do better!"
"Apology accepted, Captain Needa!"
"Twice the pride, double the fall!"

Yep.

Love General Grievous in this movie, too. I feel his presence is already being overlooked.

"Attack, Kenobi!"

 

"Whaaaaaaat's the situation?"

 

One of the best delivered lines may well be Padme's "no!" at seeing Obi Wan emerge and realising what Anakin must think. Superly done by Lucas and Portman. It's a truly gut clenching moment. The film was firing on all cylinders at that point.

COLOR was mentioned before in the saga. uncle owen says what about that one , we'll take that blue one. also luke says come on red let's go to r4d5. plus did you forget the color codes for the rebelpilots?

The whole sequence from "Obi-Wan is trying to turn you against me." to "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."

 

I think I'll just nominate the ENTIRE movie.
