I was wondering if someone could help me out:

    1. How many black Jedis have there been in the movies/EU?

    2. Are there any black Jedis in the NJO/LOTF/Legacy eras? What about KOTR?

    "Black" Jedi include

Mace Windu, Kofi Arrana, Jolee Bindo, Rajan, Adi Gallia, Stass Allie, Roth Del-Masona, Tae, Sidrona, Nico and Dace Diath.

EDIT: Most of those are Clone Wars. Dace Diath, Sidrona Diath and Jolee Bindo are of the KOTOR period, while Rajan fought in the New Sith Wars.

Not to hear Lucas tell it... :p

Then again, he comes out with "laser sword" more often than not as well.

Micah wasn't "black," he was "Asian" (or the Star Wars equivalent). Interesting, isn't it, that he was also retconned as being Bultar Swan's Master...

The person everyone is forgetting is Soon Bayts.

Qu Rahn (Dark Forces: Jedi Knight)

Qu Rahn looked more Asian to me....

Micah Giett was definitely Asian - he had fairly light skin as well.

    EDIT:

Here are the "brothers and sisters", so to speak:

Oh my God! That's why he looks slightly different! The real George was killed in a car crash shortly before the second half of his career began! Every movie poster and book cover since Episode I contains a link in an elaborate chain of clues left by LFL to let the dedicated fan in on the secret: the "George Lucas" we know is a body double!

If you play Jar Jar's dialogue backwards, you'll hear "George is dead" over and over again.

I always thought he was Hispanic. And I never thought Bayts was black. He doesn't look like he has much more than a deep tan in Obsession, though now looking I can see it.

I dont think their can Actualy Be Black, White, or Indian (whatvere) because thoes are all just the human forms adaptation to whatver part of the planet we or our ancestors came from.

Look at Allana Solo-Dojo! Corrillan and Alderanian/Nabooian/Tantooine or one side and Hapan(Who theslves are pirates who hijacked every hot girl in the galaxy and bred with tem for 3-5 millinia) and Dothmori on the other.

Their are planets hotter and brighter than Africa and Damper, colder and wetter than Europe. Not to mention what ever little bits of GATTA that got zapped in the constant solar radiation in the Galaxy, Ohhh! Damn ! My head is spinning.

Anyway the Proper term for Black people in the GFFA wold be Black Annalog. Since welll their is no Africa in the GFFA.

Umm... no. Not so much. The color of their skin is still the color of their skin, and there are quite a few black people alive today who've never even seen Africa. They'd be black. If you're going for "analog" then you'd say "African analog," except even that's not really accurate. *sigh* I don't really want to get into that, though.

Huh? I don't want to get into a whole thing about this, but the term "black" or "white" when referring to skin tone has nothing to do with which particular country you're from. As far as I'm aware, Black and White are not the names of countries. And besides, not all black people have ancestry in Africa. Jamaica, Trinidad, Haiti, and a number of other places developed very dark skinned people independent of Africa.

Their is a slight flaw in your argument. Their is an Africa on this planet. And We as in people who are identified as black have not been seperated from it for 25,000 years. Actal their are Blacks who left africa 25,000+ years ago, thats Everyone else. :p

All Joking Asside we are dealing with geneology with a population of humans that have been running around and starting familys after 30,000 years of leavin their home planets. Lando could resonably be expected to have great great Grand parrents Who on both Sides of Both Sides of his family appair to be enything else but "Black" Unles they all were sticking with their on genotypical social groups

No they didn't. They're all descended from transported slaves.

SabraJaguar, you are confusing skin colour with ethnicity and/or nationality. They aren't the same.

Trust me I am Black and both my parents hail from Jamaica. Guess what we all know who developed n that island. and they are all quite dead. Except for the few that breed into the peopulation of the sself liberated enslaved people. The origibnal inhabitants of Jamiaca were the Carrib proples and the Arawaks. Im what many Jamaicans would call a Reddish complection. and I am probably darker than they were.

The reason I figured Qu Rahn was black was because Koffie Arana was originally supposed to be a young Qu Rahn.

As for Micah Giiet: This guy's supposed to be Asian looking?
    [image=http://images.wikia.com/starwars/images/8/88/Giett.JPG]

Dark brown skin, corn rows, and all?

Anyway, I fail to see why "black" doesn't make sense as a term to use.
I changed the word "Black" to "African" because otherwise your sentence doesn't really make sense.
A better example might be the Australian Aborigines, but we're not really talking about anyone with dark skin, but rather people who cary certain phenotypes that we associate with "black people."

If you're black, you're black in any galaxy. You can only be African, however, if you come from Africa, which none of the people in SW are. It's the same way Depa Billaba isn't Indian, but is Indian-analogue or whatever you want to call it (in-universe, Chalactan). However, it would still be fair to call her brown-skinned because her skin color is independent of her ethnic identity.

Guys -- let's focus on the skin-color portion of the question which is what was gone for in this thread and stay away from nationality issues (other than, for example, are all korrunai black, etc.).

Let's not get into Earth-nationality issues here, since I'll just have to probably ban all of you. :p
