Blender is so ridiculous some times. They absolutely hate some groups for no reason...i.e. The Doors. Who can debate that Spin Doctors werent fun for a little while. Blender stinks!

Nah, The Doors probably deserve to be on there - if not, it's only because most of their music is too mediocre and forgettable for the band to qualify as truly, catastrophically bad. But for me their over-inflated reputation just tips them over the edge.

I mean, I've heard all but one of their Morrison-era albums, and from what I can tell they literally wrote about three genuinely good songs over the couse of their peak years.

Still, whatever turns you on, I guess.

So, since this is the 50 worst bands of all time, that must mean

my high school garage band > The Doors

Oh, hell yeah...I need to call up the guys and get the band back together....

The Spin Doctors are an extremely underrated band. People didn't get a chance to see them shine because *gasp* they weren't cut out for mainstream! Doesn't mean they suck!!!

ICP as number one is fine. Creed on the list makes perfect sense, Creed sucks. Goo Goo Dolls too.

Gwar should definetly be there. Along with Scorpion and Warrant, but that's arguable.

Why the hell is Primus on the list? Because they chose not to sell out to rock-whoredom? Those guys are great. Blender sucks.

Benzino on the list? He's a rapper, not a band. I mean seriously, Benzino isn't even popular enough to make a regular list of bands, let alone worst bands.

Mick Jagger? Come on. I could name a billion other solo acts worse than him. Who the hell writes for Blender, Donald Rumsfield?

Arrested Development? Uh... yeah they were kind of screwy but their music had some kind of an impact, if only in the slightest. And again, I could name two billion worse rap groups. Who writes this crap?

And then there's the Doors. People have a love/hate relationship with the Doors, yes. But naming them as one of 50... I'll say again... FIFTY... worse groups of ALL TIME? No ****ing way. Are you kidding me?

Blender magazine sucks. Too even think they could compete with other music magazines is a joke. Someone funded this crap? They actually have advertising?

They should fire their entire staff and get people who actually have a knowledge of music, instead of a knowledge of MTV during the ninties.

It's a joke of a publication, written by angry, unsexed wanna-be hipsters who learned everything they know about music from VH1 specials, and I give them at least three more years before the senior editors are out of a job.

Oh DarthVegas you are a man to love!!!!!

Well, as if that wasn't bad enough, I just found Blender's latest list.......50 Worst Songs of All time. But that's a whole new topic.

50 Worst Magazines of all time? Well......Blender is number one on my list, then right now Rolling Stone is number 2 purely because of their list of the 50 greatest bands of all time which is pure bullhonkey! Number 3?? Dolls magazine......honestly, how much is there to say about dolls?

It's sad that only 32 out of these 50 worst bands of all time are real, actual bands.

I can't believe they didnt put Iron Maiden on that list. They are my favorite band but I get a lot of grief for liking them, Maiden rules!

Almost all music magazines are useless.I hate the Doors but I wouldnt have put them on this list, and the fact the Primus appears ensures that like always, I will never purchase an issue of Blender. They are one of my faves.

Reminds me on when Rolling Stone said only losers without girlfriends who liked to play D&D listened to Maiden and Priest. They ensured that I would never purchase their magazine.

It's a joke of a publication, written by angry, unsexed wanna-be hipsters who learned everything they know about music from VH1 specials, and I give them at least three more years before the senior editors are out of a job.

You pretty much described 99% of everyone involved in music journalism.

I'm also baffled by including solo artists on a "worst bands" list. Some of those bands (Insane Clown Posse, Starship, Air Supply, Mike and the Mechanics) are bad in my opinion but some of the other choices are ridiculous. Oingo Boingo? Some of their late stuff is awful but in their prime, they did some great pop tunes. You can still hear their influence on later So Cal bands like No Doubt. And let's not forget Danny Elfman's long and successful career as a film score composer. Skinny Puppy was one of the best industrial bands of the 1980s--these kids ought to realize current bands like Korn or Linkin Park got a little bit of their sound from that era. Hell, even the Gipsy Kings can be fun to listen to. But there's no excuse for putting The Doors on that list. This is the equivalent of Blender putting "Bridge Over Troubled Water" on its worst song list. Some of The Doors' music can be pretentious and overwrought but every '60s band had some pretentious and overwrought music in its repetoire. So what? No other band really captured the dark side of the summer of love the way they did and there's never been a lead singer quite like Jim Morrison despite many wannabes over the years.

The Doors are one of the best bands of all time.

And why are legitimate (albeit mediocre) bands on there while it fails to mention posuer boybands like New Kids on the Block, Menudo, or N' Sync?

Oh yeah, and Oingo Boingo gave us Danny Elfman so that makes them not eligible for that list.

What's with Blender and all the 50 Worst crap? Also, you may notice some correlations between this list and the 50 Worst Songs list. What the hell do these people have against Starship?

Not only do I disagree with some of the choices on that list(Kansas and Creed) but half of the them mentioned are solo artists and NOT BANDS, so it makes me question the intelligence of Blender in the first place.

This may be the worst list of all-time.

What about all the crappy 80s hair bands: Ratt, Winger, Enuff Z Nuff, Poison, etc.? Not one is on that list!

I also think they forgot to include the Sex Pistols on there. They were so bad, the roadies backstage would unplug the live bass guitar and play the bass lines themselves from backstage and Sid Vicious was such a crappy bassist he didn't even know!

    Lists suck.

You can still hear their influence on later So Cal bands like No Doubt.

i like Oingo Boingo, but i wouldn't exactly call this a point in their defense.

The Spin Doctors are an extremely underrated band. People didn't get a chance to see them shine because *gasp* they weren't cut out for mainstream! Doesn't mean they suck!!!

actually, they were extraordinarily cut out to be a mainstream rock band. catchy but basically vapid feel-good watered-down retro-rock. that's probably why they're on the list.

There's a disturbing trend of pop culture to devalue older things.

i don't think that's true overall. it's just that older things which had been seen as important are re-evaluated and other older things are retroactively seen as more important or interesting. while a lot of old-school "classic rock" is dropping in esteem, a lot of equally old stuff like Krautrock (Can, Faust, Tangerine Dream) and older Jamaican music (reggae, ska, rocksteady, dub, etc) is going up. that's just the way things go.

anyway, i love the Doors, Primus, and that one Gipsy Kings song, and Skinny Puppy and Arrested Development definitely had moments, but pretty much everyone else on the list pretty much does suck. and, honestly, i can see how the Doors can be seen as grotesquely overrated pretentious crap, even if i don't agree.

in any case the whole point of lists like these is not only to make fun of bands that everyone with any taste agrees suck (like Creed or Kenny G), but to make a few bold inflammatory statements.

also, anyone who's nitpicking over the distinction between bands and individual singers of rappers or DJs or whatever is missing the point. "50 Worst Musical Artists" just isn't as catchy.

What an idiotic list. Just for putting ELP, Asia, Kansas and Rick Wakeman on it alone proves the I.Q. (or lack thereof) of who or whatever came up with it.

And I'm no Doors fan but...seriously. Come on.
