Hal shook his head. He hadn't left the academy for some time and was begining to get some type of 'cabin fever'. He held his lighsaber in his hand and went to clip it back onto his belt.

He grew frustrated when the clip wouldn't go. He showed his frustration with a few loud sighs. He was indeed very nervous and thought to himself: "If a Jedi can't clip his lightsaber on his belt, he must surely be a klutz..." He groaned as the clip finally attached and he grinned.

"Yes, well I'm sure you will soon. You should be able to handle it."

Fayn looked back at the closed door his padawan had slammed. He closed his eyes ad shook his head. "I'm sorry if he offended you, he's been a little bit edgy lately." He smirked at Hal. "I trust that your not troubling your Master the same way?"

"No, he's hardly around becuase he is one of the best Jedi in the galaxy. He's needed places." Fayn looked at the padawan, "It is still good to train, no matter how good you are. I have to send a message to the Jedi council, I will meet up with you later, and possibly your Master if he is back yet. May the Force be with you."

With that, Fayn bowed and left the room.

    OOC: Good character chemistry!

IC: Curkkan's glistening silver robes billowed open as he rose three feet off the ground. He tapped into the minds of the Jedi Knights. Electrical charges pierced the air.

His entrance slammed into what seemed a solid wall. Conciously he felt himself physically stagger. A Jedi Master of notable power was barring him from the rest of the Jedi.

    "Name yourself."

A calm, confident voice responded: "I am Jedi Master Luke Skywalker of the New Jedi Order. I have come to vanquish your tainted evil from the galaxy for all time. Surrender. You've lost."

Curkkan squinted his eyes tight. "So, I square off against the head of the adder. I expected the esteemed Master Skywalker to be training the intiates at some secluded complex. Not fighting in war."

"I have seen more war than you may realize. I know the madness you condone. I also know the alluring power you wield. Tell me, Curkkan, was it worth your soul?

Curkkan lashed out. Skywalker was adept at such games. He blocked each exchange with a Force shield. "In time, in the end of all things, you, as well as all the blind Jedi will see I am in the right!"

"Perhaps your twisted interpetion of right tells you that what you're doing is for greater good, yet you've caused considerable harm, you intend to enslave all, and you crave dominance."

    "The fates will decide that."

In exhaustion, Curkkan fell, toppling to the hard floor. The intense space battle raged anew outside his viewport, with curved durustell brackets aligning along the window.

The Nemesis shuddered from being on the receiving end of a Galactic Alliance advance. Admiral Shawnk was manuevering the fleets in a conjoining half-circle formation.

Interdictor cruisers were generating magnetic cones to pin down some of the larger Galactic Alliance capital ships. Assault shuttles dove in, unleashing packs of pulsing bombs that shattered the vacuum of space.

Their explosions dug deep into the hull exteriors of the Galactic Alliance ships. Curkkan noticed K-wing bombers feigning trajectories, re-routing to opposite directions. They were coming in on the Nemesis!

Curkkan charged onto the expansive bridge of the Nemesis. "Admiral! Accomodate bombardament points to deal with those approaching K-wing bombers. They must not be allowed to make strafing runs."

"Admiral! Accomodate bombardament points to deal with those approaching K-wing bombers. They must not be allowed to make strafing runs."

Shawnk saw that Grand Admiral Currkans ship was under attack.

"Yes sir!" He replied. He then turned his attention to the officers. "Send Alpha and Black Squadron to intercept those K-Wing! Send Black Widow into a dive torwards those larger Galacti Alliance ships! We must not let those ships reach the Nemesis!"

"Yes sir!" An officer replied, running off and issuing the orders. Soon, two squadrons were heading off to intercept the K-wings, and his Star Destroyer went diving after a few of the larger GA ships. "Fire at will!" Shawnk screamed as the Star Destroyer began firing at all the ships.

Taya took a few seconds to gather her thoughts

?Ok, as you know, after the Vong invasion many of the galaxies key factions finally agreed to a unilateral agreement to promote unity within the galaxy. But of course, not everyone was happy about it?

?An Imperial Resurgence Movement has been formed, lead by an imperial grand admiral named Curkkan. He has a colourful history as part of the empire, but he also has the ability to use the force. Using its ?dark? side to his advantage, along with his inner circle of dark Jedi. He has already begun his campaign against the Jedi and the Alliance. He?s a callous, dangerous man, and he won?t stop until her gets what he wants. And will use any methods necessary in which to get it, regardless of the consequences?

She paused, to give the commander some time to contemplate her words. But her voice took on a slightly darker tone

?A while back, before the truce, the Imperial?s began working on a project codenamed project: Starscream. For some reason, the original Starscream project was deemed as a failure. But Curkkan has revived the project, using kidnapped scientists who worked on the project originally. They have created a virus"

"Known as the 'blood moon plague' it is a virus, which if released, will result in devastation for the galaxy. It kills victims by eating away at them from the inside out; causing a painful death but it can also destroy large numbers or crops that are needed for trillions of the masses. It would be catastrophic"

She reached into a pocket of her jacket and pulled out a datapad containing a copy of all the relevant information and slid it over the table to him.

"A team of Alliance soldiers from the special forces division had attempted to infiltrate the Admirals crown city. They managed to send this information to us before they were killed"

"I understand that this has probably came as quite a big shock to you sir, it has created much unrest within the Alliance. If you do choose to help, the mission will not be easy. But your reputation has shown that you are one of the best people for the Job"

"The mission itself, is to assist in the capture of the antidote to the Blood Moon Plague"

She sat back and waited for his reaction and response

    OOC: Excellent post, Leigh. =D=

Don't worry about it, Nemisis. You're doing a great job. :D

    IC:

Curkkan stumbled out of his sanctum in a fog of thought. Sweat made his silver robes stick to him like plaster. Admiral Shawnk issued orders quickly.

Alpha and Black squadrons trounced upon the procession of K-wings before their missiles could get into range to fire. The Black Widow honed in on her adversaries.

Even through the bedlam, some of the K-wings managed to launch salvos of missiles that rocketed through the haze of incadescent light and fire from the two squadrons.

The Nemesis's guns poured everything they could at the projectiles to destroy them before they collided with the stationary Nemesis.

Curkkan winced as the Super Star Destroyer endured the attack. Its turbolasers and smaller weapons raked the K-wings, reducing them to puffs of fiery clouds and fragments of rubble.

Elsewhere, in the heart of the Galactic Alliance. . . The planet Ukio is the latest in the line of major food-producing worlds to suffer the potent death of the Blood Moon plague.

The expansive gridwork of crops, livestock, and grains is infected with the spreading plague. The natives infected with the harmful pathogens writh in misery as they slowly die.

A visible maroon cloud of destruction saturates the land. The Blood Moon plague spawning new offspring to add to its killing. Med-Centers are overrun with new admissions.

Healers are afflicted as the highly contagious diesease is inhaled. The very existence of the Galactic Alliance is held in question as it is transported offworld by travelers. . .

Grissom rounded up a company of stormtroopers and sent out a universal report with footage that revealed the appearence of the Yuuzhan Vong to all other Imperial personnel.

He and the soldiers took off from the main square in the general direction in which the Yuuzhan Vong fled. Roaring chants of, "Praise to Curkkan!", from the gathered sea of people resounded.

The landspeeders had trouble navigating through the thicket of people. Grissom had the stormtroopers menacingly brandish their blaster rifles for easy passage.

The limp bodies of captured Galactic Alliance pilots hung over gallows with knotted rope around their necks. Crazed children beat the cracasses with rods.

Imperial officers handed out rationed food packages at stations in regular intervals. Each of the uniformed men reiterated Curkkan's love and desire that there be no starvation under the Movement.

When civilians in the lines spotted the imposing Grissom, the thunder and right-hand of Curkkan himself, they dispersed their ranks to allow a path.

Then Grissom caught sight of the female 'Vong. . .

    IC Dajiri

Hearing Grissom's voice she glances warily at him, head bowwed so her face stays in the shadows of the hood. She pulls a small sliver of metal - a crudely fashioned knife - from her pocket, and, keeping it hidden in her cupped hand, pretends it is a commlink. Disguising her voice and pulling off a heavy corellian accent, she pretends to listen and then says, "Right now? Are you sure? No, go ahead. I'll be right there." she stuffs the fake comlink back into her pocket and runs off. She tries to choose a pace as strange as possible, switching streets at every block, before finally coming to a halt in a foggy industrial area.

    Azurutaan - Azrith

    IC: Krysta Fett

    • Krysta had been strolling around the planet's capital city for a good standard forty five minutes. She was looking for the government center; the only place that she thought would hold what Grand Admiral Curkkan was seeking.

    • Krysta was relieved when she finally found what she was looking for. She had grown so bored of searching tirelessly for the government center. Not only that, she was annoyed by the few civilians who chose to gaze upon her and point out and say "Look who it is" and whatnots. Krysta was ready to take out her blasters and unload in the faces of every one pointing her out. But she remembered that she couldn't go shooting the place up. She had to be very discriet for this particular assignment.

    • Krysta looked over the governement center, while trying to find a way suitable for sneaking in. So far, the guards hadn't spotted her. "Security police," she remarked to herself. "Sometimes I get the feeling I'm not wanted."

    • Krysta sneaked closer to the government center. When she got close enough, she spotted a grating at the base of a wall. She checked for Security police. No guards were in sight. "Bingo."

    • She moved right up to the grating. With a single blast from her Jeron Fusion Cutter, Krysta put a hole in it and crawled inside. She found herself in some sort of shaft. What this shaft's purpose was, Krysta could only guess. She put the thought aside and continued on her way.

Vongchild: Perhaps it would be better if your character's journney intertwines with Mortimer_Nerdly's character. Considering the alternatives if Grissom caught you. [face_devil]

In orbit around Azurutaan. . . Grand Admiral Curkkan thought it would be better intiative to bolster the resolve of Movement supporters if his presence was on the surface.

He conjectured easiest possible way would be to be transported via a brigade of heavy armor--consisting of AT-ATs, AT-STs, archaic juggernauts, and hover tanks.

Leaving Admiral Shawnk in charge wasn't a worthy replacement for him personally, but victory would be his. The insurrectionists were too few in number, and gradually their numbers were being separated.

The Galactic Alliance wasn't prepared to lose considerable amount of forces to simply overtake a lone planet--even if it was an imperative junction to stage a wider campaign.

Curkkan boarded Light's Bane in a spacious berth in the heart of the Nemesis. The courier ship was a customed-built sleek design that resembled a Sith Infiltrator/Guri's Stinger hybrid.

Braces retracted underneath as a compliment of TIE Defenders' repulsorlifts kicked into power to flank the most essentially-guarded craft in the entire fleet of the Imperial Resurrgence Movement.

As Light's Bane cleaved through the invisible magnetic field, Grand Admiral Curkkan had an ideal vantage point of the battle. He was delighted to see Galactic Alliance starships were dwindling.

His troops had made much sacrifice on this day. The outcome, he knew, was inevitable. What he had told that wretched Jedi Master Luke Skywalker was true, the fates were indeed with him.

The vibrant green globe that was Azurutaan loomed into view.

She eventually makes it to a small public spaceport and looks at a list of outbound flights. Once again slouching, bowing her head, and disguising her voice with the corellian accent, she walks up to the ticket counter and drops a few credits on it. "Azurtaan," she says, and takes her ticket.

Later, aboard the freighter, she wonders why the heck she's going to Azurtaan.

Grissom held the stray article of clothing from the Yuuzhan Vong beast between the iron-grip fist. He gritted his teeth. The customs/outbound station was only half a kilometer away.

Grissom rummeged through his utility belt and found a comlink. Relaying a frequency to Grand Admiral Curkkan's personal comlink on Azurutaan. "What is it, Grissom?"

"She's gone, Grand Admiral. My guess is she got aboard a transport off-planet some time ago. We searched for hours. May I ask your persistent interest in capturing her?"

"It's of no concern. Are there any obstructions to my power?"

"As a matter of fact, yes, Grand Admiral. Some alien breeds have assembled in the central square protesting the food shortage on their rations. They're peaceful."

    "What are their grievances?"

"About your 'blatent bias' in the delivering of food goods."

Curkkan sighed tiredly. "Something tells me, Grissom, that once I return to Eriadu, we will need to institute a purge of any alien species residing in the Movement's territory once and for all."

    "Yes, sir."

"Annhilate the inferiors. Raze them to the ground. I want the central square reduced to cinder. Anyone else who even lifts a finger in objection will be silenced, too. We can't afford this."

    "It will be done."

Grissom turned to the passive-looking Surface Marshal Thurstan Idaccen. "The Grand Admiral wants all protesters in the central square to be... surpressed. Call in air support from a unit of TIE bombers."

"Rally a legion of your most crack troops. Use proton grenades, tripod guns, and blaster rifles. If they become violent, we will then proceed to pull in some heavy armor.

"The Grand Admiral knows it would be in the best interest of unity if not a solitary one of those filthy mutents lives.

"Excuse the act as desparation on the part of the Imperial Resurrgence Movement against forceful protests. Fabricate footage to reinforce the dire need of total annhilation."

    IC: Krysta Fett

    • After Krysta emerged from the tunnel, she started exploring the government center. She needed to know exactly where she was.

    • After sneaking past several guards and evading the watchful secutity cameras, Krysta stumbled upon the security room itself. After bneing forced to take out a guard with a single toxic dart, she stepped inside. Misc. monitors, buttons, and control panels were everywhere. "Heh. More lights that don't do crap."

    • After cutting the camera feeds and sabatoging them, Krysta discovered a computer terminal. After tinkering with it for a moment, she discovered a schematic of the entire building. "Jackpot!"

    • Krysta pinpointed the location of a comper room on the upper levels of the government center. "This could very well be where the information I need is kept." She downloaded the schematic to a datapad and was on her way.

    • Krysta boarded an elevator and set it to take her to level 3, for that was where her target was located.

OOC: All right, people. Some pressing stuff came up and I'll be gone for a day. I'll just write up one big mega-post to encompass everything I planned on doing in the immediate future. [face_not_talking]

Grand Admiral Curkkan sat in his crisp white uniform with gold embroidery, an array of impressive of badges, and ink-black boots. The main deck of the AT-AT walker was crammed.

General Tavor Krebbs had the tiller wearing a Vader-esque black helmet, a plastoid black chestplate, and a black uniform. The Grand Admiral's walker was enshelled by other mobile armor units.

Agile AT-STs scouted the edges of the convoy going into the city. Spraying pockets of insurrecitonists and entrenched Galactic Alliance commandos with laser cannon firepower.

Hover tanks took up the rear. They were the latest addition to the ground forces of the Imperial Remnant. Consisting of a sleek hollowed-out body, gatling guns, an artillary turbolaser, and proton torpedo mortors.

Lumbering juggernauts were, too. Contingents of stormtroopers and shocktroopers (advanced sentinals with enhanced goggles for smoke-screened combat, thicker armor, jetpacks, and elongated automatic firing blaster rifles).

This was the reinforcements that General Vastcuun said would be necessary to remaining his beleagured troops fending off the state-of-the-art technology of the Galactic Alliance suppliers for the insurrectionists.

Then, in the twinkling of an eye, all hell broke loose. Curkkan gaped as he watched his soldiers get mowed down in swathing columns. Laser fire poured in like vertical rain. Walkers and tanks combusted.

"Split ranks!" General Krebbs stammered. They were nearing the outer confines of the massive capital city of Azrith. Towers, architectureally astounding buildings, and monuments were erected in the near distance.

Air support for the insurrectionists dove in spewing every last weapon in their arsenals. The Movement's formation broke.

Barriers and bunkers approached the the first lines of troops that weren't sprawled on the grass with wispy curls of smoke billowing from punctures through their armor.

Guerrilla fighters took shots from enclosed positions. Curkkan looked out over the expansive view of the startling vivid battle. "We'll need precision bombardaments, General."

General Krebbs was already getting on the radio. "Order the Belligerent and Engine of Order to gather spots for coordinates mark zero two six niner. It will need to be sufficient enough to clear an adequate pathway for our units."

General Krebbs nodded his agreement and re-stated the command.

Curkkan saw the flash of blue, the twirling blade sheared through hordes of shocktroopers steadily marching through the suffocating smoke that laid over the battlefield that was reminescent of night.

A Jedi Knight was within the rudimentary stockades the insurrectionists had fabricated to repell the Movement from breaching their conquered zones from this direction.

Like a green storm of ionized energy, turbolaser strobes stroked and upheaved extensive quantities of ground. Debris pieces, bodies, and chunks were tossed in the air and fell like lethal hail from the heavens.

Curkkan was worried that it would end backfiring by harming his intermingling troops. He reasoned a few men could be spared as long as the barricades were destroyed for expediant passage.

The AT-AT walker began methodically moving onward, all other vehicles surrounding the hulking monster menchanism matched the pace. Curkkan wanted a sword.

Curkkan wanted to be the glorius leader wielding his sword of destruction as he marched through at the head of the calvarly. He felt the Jedi's life-force flicker and fade.

The foot walked over the tattered robes and mangled body. A sign of things to come. . .

    Age: 35
    Species: Human
    Affiliation: Imperial Remnant
    Height: 6' 5"
    Weight: 215 lbs.
    Eyes: Blue
    Hair: Black

    Bio:

-Born 6 years After the Battle of Yavin (ABY) on Coruscant.
-His father was a Colonel in the Imperial Army and his mother served in the Naval Medical Corps as an RN.
-At the age of 18 (24 ABY), Alex attended the (new) Imperial Academy on Bastion and graduated (with honors) at the age of 22 fully-trained as an Army officer with a Bachelor's degree in Military Science.
-Because of the Imperial Remnants professed neutrality, Alex Pratt saw very little action at the beginning of the war against the Yuuzhan Vong, although he did act as one of the many 'military advisors' to the New Republic Army.
-His first major battle occurred on the asteroid Ebaq 9 where he fought alongside NR troops. He distinguished himself in combat when, despite several wounds, he attacked several Vong warriors. For his actions, he was awarded the Imperial Silver Star, the sixth highest award for bravery.
-He served in several more smaller skirmishes, earning several battle awards.
-The next major battle he partook in was the Battle of Coruscant. During the battle, he led a company of troops against some of Shimrra's toughest troops and was one of the first officers to arrive at Shimrra's palace. While others were going after Shimrra and Onimi, Pratt had helped to actually clear out the palace itself of threats. His galant actions earned him the Imperial Medal of Honor.
-After that battle, Pratt continued to serve in the Imperial Army. For the next eleven years, he was mostly helping to rebuild, although he did participate in some combat operations, mostly against criminal organizations that had taken up the slack when Vong conquerors had been forced to give up their planets.
-When Grand Admiral Curkkan took over, Pratt privately disagreed with many of his policies, but realized that following the Grand Admiral would be his best bet for advancement. Pratt's ambition had wond out over his compassion.
-Pratt is now one of the most powerful and respected people in the Imperial Army.

Grand General Alex Pratt had been very lucky up until now and he prayed his luck would hold. The march towards Azrith was a long and bloody one.

In fact, the only thing that signified that he was in fact the most powerful man in the Imperial Army was the rank plaque affixed to his armor's breast-plate.

He had so far killed five insurrectionists and helped to blow up several heavy repeater nests. The sergeant he had been working with had even joked that he would put the Grand General in for a promotion with his lieutenant.

He had been a witness to the destruction of the insurrectionists jury-rigged stockade and had seen the graceful Jedi fall.

The Grand General had gone past the ruined stockade already and insurrectionists were surrendering left and right.

Smoke wafted across the battlefied. The metallic odor of blood was mixed in. It was so thick, Pratt could almost taste it, despite his armor's breathing unit. It made him want to vomit.

It wasn't the combat that made him skittinsh, but the unrelenting carnage of this new war. The Vong had been a good enemy and defeating and been a glorious triumph for the galaxy, but this...this was wholesale slaughter.

They were nearing the relatively defenseless capital of Azrith and while many troopers were excited, knowing this battle would soon be over, the Grand General of the Imperial Army and a member of the Inner Council (OOC: if that's okay Saber, but I just assumed that since he is the GG, he would be a member) knew the bloodshed was far from over.
