Boga?

I thought Boga was pretty cool - made a change from the 1001 vehicles that everyone rides. Was nice to see them riding something living for a change, especially on a planet like Utapau.

 

Krayt Dragon. Did I miss something? I don't remember a dragon in ANH.

"Why not have him ride a Krayt Dragon in Ep 3 instead of making up this new and very annoying creature?"

I'll tell you why. Star Wars already has enough coincidences. That would be one too many.

Because? What makes Utapau different? We didn't get any information on the planet and don't know anything about it.

The whole Boga lizard was just a cgi-fest for cgi's sake. It didn't add _anything at all_ to the story. Bar the annoying sound.

 

Boga sounded like that Retarded Chinese Singer Kid who lost in American Idol!

In other Words, I loved that Lizard almost as much as I loved that little retarded bastard.

The Krayt Dragon is the skeleton that we see behind Threepio just before he spots the Jawa Sandcrawler. They are native only to Tatooine. The Boga is native to Utapau.

The reason for it is not the CGI fest that people like to label it as it shows that Obi-wan is more naturalistic. Perfering the company of an animal over a Speeder or Swoop Bike.

Besides, there weren't either of them on Utapau, when he arrived.

I liked the sound Boga made. It sounded like someone was choking a chicken. An actual chicken mind you not a.....well you know what I mean.

 

The thing I found stupid about this is that he tried to sneak into an enemy base wit this thing screaming to high heaven. What exactly was he thinking about?

Ok, let me clear this up.

3) The Boga did die. In the book, the Boga blocked the turrent shot with it's body to try and save Obi-wan. When they landed in the water, Obi-Wan found out it was dead and held a little moment of silence under the water when he realized it tried to save him. It's dead.

4) The sound was supposed to connect with ANH. It's the sound Ben uses to scare the Tusken Raiders, so it shows where he learned it.

 

The Boga was great I thought. Very fun and well done and all that. The sound of it was wicked and Obi-Wan could handle it. But something has struck me as apparent.

I seem to recall Ewan McGregor making some quote, after Episode 1, saying how he didn't like the green screens and having to deal with creatures that were to be put in afterwards. Ever since, George has possibly put him in the most scenes and most complex situations dealing with 'imaginary' creatures and green screens. And thats just mean...but funny.

How do you like green sreens now, Ewan?

Lucas doesn't like mounted beasts. Boga gives her life for Obi Wan and is gunned down, Luke's Taun Taun gets eaten, Han's Taun Taun spills his guts, literally, the Reek whisks the heroes to safety but is unceremoniously shot to death, the Naboo beast is used by Anakin in a lame stunt to impress Padme and that Tatooine thing degrades himself with a lame joke by farting on Jar Jar. I think Lucas was probably kicked by a mule when he was a kid.

It's also very appropriate to have a Jedi using a live mount for once, since the Force supposedly stems from life and all that crap.

Here's another reason why: Krayt Dragons are HUGE VISCIOUS MAN EATING KILLERS. Obi-Wan would not have been able to sneak up on anyone with that thing. Of course, he could have just sic-ed the Krayt Dragon on GG and never would have had to fight him.

 

According to the OS databank update, Boga is a herbivore - a vegetarian. She could neither eat Binks (pity!) nor be a Krayt Dragon.

Boga made a cool noise that reverberated off the theater walls. I betcha evolving dinosaurs made sounds like Boga! Boga was a living, breathing creature that formed a great working relationship with Obi-Wan (who supposedly prefers living rides to mechanical ones). And most importantly of all, Boga gave her life to save my beloved Obi-Wan -- she took the hit meant for him! How could I not love her?
