    Wookiepedia suggests Bossk was in RotJ and shows a picture. Has any account of his obvious escape from the sail barge ever been covered in any form at all?

    It's possible he wasn't on the sail barge in the first place. Plenty of people who were in the palace didn't make it aboard the barge, such as Dengar, Mara Jade, Gartogg, and several others.

    As far as the movie goes, I think the scenes shot with him (which the still on Wookieepedia is from) were cut/not used in the movie.

    He's definitely in the background in some shots.

    I think it's kinda funny how Lucasfilm basically just raided their archive used every single alien costume they created for the palace scenes. They even stuck a tauntaun in there!

    Is he not in Star Wars/A New Hope too ?
    I was under the impression that he makes a brief cameo during the bar scenes and Obi-Wan's fight in the Cantina.

    I don't think it's Bossk, but there is a similar character in that scene.

    I believe you're referring to these creatures:

    [image=http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070703114354/starwars/images/e/ea/Hrchek-kal-fas.jpg]
    [image=http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060313201926/starwars/images/1/13/Saitorr-kal-fas.jpg]

    Despite the clear similarity, neither are meant to be Bossk. They're identified as Saurins - a sub-species of Bossk's Trandoshan species.

    It looks like what they did is either re-moulded the cantina mask or used the very same one, and then stuck it in a flight jumpsuit and added arm and leg bits. Ta-da! Bossk!

    But yeah, technically not him in ANH. The character was created for ESB (mainly using existing pieces from the looks of things). I think there was one of those Topps cards, or the CCG thing, that had him photoshoped into the cantina or something, but he's definitely not there in the original, although I guess you could believe that the pre-Bossk-mask guy is just him decked out more casually (he can't wear that flight suit everywhere, right?).

    I like the astronaut helmeted pic as there is some debate over an easter egg of the American Flag on his shoulder.

    I choose to believe there's more than one Trandoshan in the galaxy. :p

    (And more than one lost American astronaut who fell into a black hole that transported him or her through time and space, perhaps.)

    Poor Dave Bowman would have a bit of a rough time in the GFFA, I think:

    Unknown voice: Use the Force, Dave...

    HAL: I'm sorry, Dave, I'm afraid you can't do that.

    Good find!

    I'll bet the lizard hands and feet were laying around from the cantina as well. Pretty good use of costume reuse actually!

    Precisely why he's drinking his sorrows away in a cantina on a desolate world!

    I love the DIY nature of a lot of the props. It's kind of cool to know that even after it was clear the series was going to be a success, Star Wars still had that nice rebel mentality going into its creation.

    For example:
    "The force pike carried by the Emperor's royal guard is actually a deep sea fishing pole."
    (Take that, Mon Cals!!!111!!11!)

    The DIY prop aspect adds a lot to the movies, because instead of needing expensive props, things were recycled and or made out of normal items. That's certainly very crafty and creative of the props department.

    OK, I saw this yesterday. I clearly saw Dengar, in the scene right after Luke kills the Rancor, and he and Han are dragged in front of Jabba, just prior to the sail barge scenes. Several guards have their guns pointed at them, and Dengar is among them. But where is Bossk? I did not see him at all.

    Dengar is also clearly visible just after Luke falls through the trap door of the rancor pit.

    I still haven't seen Bossk in any of the background, though.
