That ending scene didn't fit with a Star Wars movie. The mainline Star Wars movies are the story of the Skywalker family, not a random kid with a broom.
I actually thought the scene was not so bad; he did appear to use the force to pull it towards him, I think that was the whole point, to show that there areloads of force users out there who are hearing about the exampleof Luke. I hope that the next one features more younglings training under Rey, she has the Jedi texts now - just want to see loads of Jedi again in this Sequel Trilogy, as that has been a let down and a disappointment with it.
I doubt this goes further than showing Luke has a legend that lives beyond him that will inspire the next generation. Also, its a reflection of himself in youth, plucked from obscurity to become a Legend. Luke's story has ended, but there is new hope. Force sensitive kids never stopped being born. He is their hero, like he is for generations of viewers. It was a very meta movie.
I was fine with it. It was saying The Skywalkers may be ending, but the story goes on. For me that's fine and great. New stories are coming. But I get the "It's all about the Skywalkers" attitude. You have to adjust, or don't.
I saw it as people being inspired by Luke, eg. youngsters who could one day become Jedi and follow in his footsteps. But at the same time, I thought it was an underwhelming last scene. They could’ve had something better.
I honestly thought in that scene near the end force ghost Luke would show up and it would be like **** luke died but in death he is continuing to train people
Was he in the middle of the movie when Finn and Rose let those animals run lose? I was just thinking he could probably be Rey's next apprentice or something.
I think there are two purposes to the scene. One is that people are being inspired by the rebellion. The second is that some of the inspired have a connection to the Force, so it gives hope for the future.
He moved the broom with the Force. I didn’t notice it the first time. It’s just saying that there’s more Force sensitives out there. There’s still hope.
He's to show that the force is everywhere. Not just in Skywalkers. i thought it was genius. I actually had this idea in my own fan story. Great delivery and leaves it open to many storylines.
Luke spirit entered the boy so we can start again in episode 10, although he will probably go all Darth Vader like...
He is just another *More important than Luke* guy. Watch him being the topic for discussion for 2 years just to not appear in Ep9 at all.
The Force-Broom-Boy is not going to come back in IX, people. He's not meant to. He's just symbolic of one of the movie's overall themes-- About being a nobody from nowhere who can become special and fight the good fight, and who was inspired Luke and the Rebels.
He was a middle-finger to anyone who just wanted the SLIGHTEST hint of Finn possibly being Force-Sensitive. I feel like a grumpy old man now that I said that, but it's kinda true. "Oh what's that? You want Finn to be Force-Sensitive? Just a little bit? Just a little something? Just a tiny little piece of evidence or clue? Well here's a kid with a broom. Go to hell."
A boy slave with powers, like Anakin. Should the next Episode include a return visit to Canto Bight we may encounter him again, perhaps as an adolescent if Episode IX is set several years after.
