How soon do you want to make this happen/need money? I'd like to do this if the interest is there.

I work most weekends next month, but will be off during the week quite a bit. LMK if I can help in any way. :)

I think a lot of this will be doing stuff on our own with maybe a couple pieces that I can make, and a couple pieces that DH can make. I don't think there's any real rush on this, or a crazy need for immediate fundage, unless DH needs some venture capital to get aluminum to start lathing (I don't know how much aluminum is). :D

Anyhoo...off to home to start playing...

Looking at those sites, it appears that cooling a tusken head? (bucket) is more of an issue than with the typical TK/TB helmet.

I'm going to do as much research as I can to see what the ebst ways are to keep it cool. But for now, it looks like there is a initial inner helmet with holes in it and a fan, then an outer 'shell' that holds the bandages, but supports them off of the inner shell. I assume that the outer bandages are kinda breatheable, but not 100% sure.

Looks like this might take a bit of trial and error to get right.

    Hi-Diddly-Ho,

    I?ve posted once before, But.

I?ve been talking with the other TK Josh, and wanted to see what info you guys have came up with.

In a week I?m going out of town to see what I can find for gaffi stick materials other then using the uber awesome but Pricy fiji War club.

    AAA URRG URRG OONK.

I?ve been told you can use a round couch leg bun, for the base of the "pineapple". Ill see if that will work and get back with you guys.

But I?m stuck on the fabric, I can't find it anywhere.
    Any more ideas.

I think I'm going to make a sniper rifle, kinda like the EP1 Tuskens used. That seems simple enought. :D

Gunny Sack seem to be just alittle off.

There seems to be 2 different material used.

One for the out side robe and one for the inner.

Ill try to upload my pics and post my reference pics.

The inner material seems to have a single line wave* for lack of better word*

The outermaterial I have found but in the wrong color.
it is a waffle print. it has 2 waves interesecting make a waffle print. As the inner just have one of these wafes with out the other intersecting.

Nope, but the stuff I didn't go look at this weekend has a waffle pattern, I just don't think it's that big of a waffle print? How about the few Tuskens that we do have in the 501st? Are they close enough?

I've never seen an accurate Tusken before. I mean, I'm not nitpicky, but I'm more for the, "If yer gonna do it, do it right," ya know? I thinkall they've used so far is the khaki canvas/denim you can buy at Walmart.

As for cooling, I think I can make a helmet base that'll be friendly. I've spent far too much time in a muggy TK helmet in 102 degree weather, and I shall not do it again.

Speaking of, I've got the first version of a Tusken helmet base sculpted, but after comparing it, while the proportions are pretty dead-on, it's too small. I might have to commission the use of one of the Birrer's heads for an hour to make sure I've got a helmet that fits everyone, and then do a small/medium/large helmet so we all look somewhat proportionate. It's not too bad -- only took a couple of hours to sculpt up.

DH -- I'll getcha the dimensions.

So...as for the Birrers...when are either one of you free? Tonight maybe? If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to get at least a head cast so I can get the proportions right for taller people. The mannequin head I was using is slightly smaller than most human heads, so I'll need to re-do that.

And when ya come over, bring the Imperial Guard helmet, too. ;) No more planning and breaking plans -- let's just work on stuff when we can. :D

I've got yer Mando armor sitting there, too.

A head cast would help ensure that your guard helmet would go on without killing you, too.

Now, since we're gonna have a bunch of Tuskens...

I'm gonna regret this later, but I can't keep it inside any longer...

Who'd be up for doing a Tusken FanFilm?

Have you ever seen "The Gods Must Be Crazy"...??? The one with the Aboriginines finding the Coke bottle and thinking that it's a gift from the gods?

I wanna do something like that...

    But with Tuskens. [face_laugh]
