    Rex gets attached to anything
    Thing dies
    That’s the show folks.

well we can add Nemec and Fireball to the pile of dead clones

I was nervous for Howzer as well, which would be bold considering how popular he is (or at least was, immediately following his debut). I have a feeling that, to get Wolffe on board, the show will sacrifice Howzer, and it'll be a catalyst for making Rex choose exile over rebellion.

Episode 6 of this season of TBB clarified that “M-count” is being used as a mystery device for the storytelling (as the clones don’t know what it means and will need to find out), and so it clearly has nothing to do with Filoni being inexplicably afraid of saying “midichlorian.” Glad this episode put that nonsense complaint to rest, and also glad that @Master Jedi Fixxxer will shortly admit he was wrong and applaud me for my sound thinking. :)

Indeed, "M-Count" is a mystery for our characters to solve. Yoda once told three clones the force resides in all life forms. I think Plo Koon had the same conversation with Wolffe a handful of episodes later. The same conversation probably took place countless times. I love seeing Rex leading and using his brain. I think he made an inference on what he thinks "M-count" is. He has a well-above-average understanding of Jedi and their abilities. But its dubious he ever heard of "midichlorians". I don't expect him to know how it works. What's in their blood. I think the hero you are looking for to spell it out for our main characters is going to be Ventress. She ain't coming back just for fanservice. She's was also in "Ambush".

I was confused at first and thought it was Howzer who went down.

There aren’t a lot of clones left. Howzer outside of the bad batch is the last named major clone we don’t know the fate of minus Scorch (who I think will die by seasons end as well)

also I was thinking about it being Cody. I think it makes the most sense narratively. This gives the perfect excuse for why Rex gives up. He is shown in episode 6 that he cares for more beyond just the clones when he is helping Chuchi set up the early rebellion. He would not just retire cause he rescued the clones on Tantiss. My best guess is it is Cody and Cody can’t be redeeemed. It comes down to it and Crosshair or Rex kills him. Rex gives up. I also assume most clones if not all of them die in the mount Tantiss rebellion.

I don't see them killing Cody though that's the thing. They may want to leave that open in case they want to do something with him if they ever do more Kenobi.

My theory is someone bet Filoni he could do a whole series without using the term "midiclorians".

He is involved with it. He is literally the show's creator and its executive producer. He is still giving them the overall direction and pushing ideas. Rebels connections, Tantiss, Project Necromancer, Ventress — it's all him. Cody was also him. I am also sure the large amount of clone commandos in the show is also him, and Scorch too. He just doesn't write the scripts for it and doesn't direct it, and isn't involved with it daily. Only in the initial story meetings for the season, when they lay down where the general story goes, character arcs, etc.

Okay I went digging and I found this

    https://www.starwarsnewsnet.com/2023/01/the-bad-batch-rau-corbett-press-interviews.html

now this isn’t very helpful at all, but from the direct quotes from Brad and Jennifer he’s involved but it’s more a guiding hand than a molding hand. Meaning he’ll suggest things, but it’s really up to Jennifer on if they happen or not. At least that’s what I got from those quotes.

so I still think it’s right to credit Brad and Jennifer more than Filoni. But Filoni’s guiding hand is important. However you want to take these.

also I am going to try to find it, but I could have sworn Brad Rau also mentioned this when talking about bringing Asajj Ventress back. That Dave basically said hey here are some characters you can use, but how they were used was left up to us. I may be completely misremembering that one as it is 1 AM and I need to go to sleep goodnight.
