Was there any statement of Filoni's or Lucas' about the the fact that at least two of these guys (Poggle and Tambor) have to be freed eventually to be able to fulfill their respective destinies in ROTS?

They thought about freeing Gunray after he got captured in 'Bombad Jedi' but apparently don't care about that much about the Chairman of the Techno Union or the Archduke of Geonosis. It's really annoying to think that they are in jail, and no one is able to get the truth about the war out of them. Say, some juicy stuff about Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus. Or about that blasted super weapon the Geonosians are about to build.

So do we have any information about the future escapes?

Most of us are expecting a jail busting type of episode soon. Also Bossk and Boba are in the jail too.

Well, Bossk and Boba can very well remain in Republic custody. Boba's TCW arc seemed finished to me. His revenge failed, and its unlikely that he will be able to try it again. There is also no mother-son-relationship left between him and Aurra, as she abandoned him. So I don't see how a Boba story set during the Clone Wars should make sense. And Bossk - well, he is a bounty hunter. One has to expect that these guys end up in jail from time to time. But he is not going to play a role in ROTS, nor is a valuable/important asset for the CIS, so the real focus should be on getting Techno Union guys out of jail.

But if there is going to be a jail-break episode, then having an experienced bounty hunter and a cunning hunter-in-training on the inside could be useful...

I fully expect we'll see them escape in some episode in the future. Maybe this season, maybe next... but it'll happen eventually, I think.

Or maybe there will just be a reference to it ("Dang it, they escaped!") but I think an episode is more likely ;)

I was annoyed, too, about the fact that San Hill (and apparently even Nute Gunray!) got captured in Clone Wars. Also about the fact that both Durge and Ventress seemed to have died in that series.
But I somewhat understood that they were not able to show us how they were freed again in the bunch of new episodes that were released shortly before ROTS entered the theaters. They did not have the time for this, but TCW has. And this show is also produced on a much larger scale. They should very well be aware about the fact that there are characters which should not become prisoners at all.

But then, they also let some kind of twisted animal steal two lightsabers from Darth Tyranus. This doesn't make any sense at all. I bought that he might back down from a fight if he is severely outnumbered, but I can't buy the fact that he doesn't realizes that someone is trying to take his weapons away from him.

There has to be a jail break episode, or something like that.

How do you waste perfectly good characters, and just say "they're in jail".

Boba, Bossk, San Hill and Wat Tambor have a lot of potential.

A story with Lok Durd doesn't have that much potential IMO. He was a nice villain for one episode, but what new could they do with him?

Give him an inspirational training montage and have him be the one to break all the other Seppies out of prison?

Nobody'd ever see it coming.

I don't mind Lok Durd but I don't think it's too likely he'll return. There probably aren't too many of his friends that are bothered about busting him out and unless he's got ideas for other weapons I don't know how useful he'd be. Concerning the making of the show, there may be other Neimoidians they want to use and it may be difficult writing Durd into the show since he was voiced by a special guest actor.

Since some characters like Poggle and Tambor have to escape we may see that in the show. I don't know whether they would want to do a whole episode about them breaking out of prison though - they may just show them be rescued in the opening sequence and have the narrator explain it.

If they were to do an episode about it though it could be interesting. It would be nice to see Poggle and Tambor work together to escape, using their individual skills, and have most of the episode be about them. So you'd be watching the episode and hoping that they will succeed even though they're the bad guys.

Or if they are rescued it would be nice if it was, say, Wat Tabor's own people in the Techno Union that did it rather than some generic Separatist forces.

I would imagine that Dooku sends someone to rescue them. Tambor and Poggle really aren't that skilled to escape from a prison.

It's kind of funny, then, that they've stated Lok Durd will be a recurring illian throughout the series, and that he'll return later on. Kinda funny.

Everyone here seems to forget Nuvo Vindi!- i really liked that guy and it was so shame they captured him in his second episode- perhaps he makes bomb out of something and blasts his way out of the prison [face_laugh]... that reminds me of awesome episode of MacGyver in which that crazy doctor guy -whatever- did something similar....

and speaking of MacGyver i still believe that Admiral Trench -character lives- like the Murdoc in MacGyver- he always seemingly died at the end of the episode and then returned to revenge... "died" again and so on.... I'm disappointed if that's not the case with Trench- he would make a worthy opponent to Anakin and Yularen- because Ani cannot meet Grievous. Why cannot TCW be as good as those old Tv-shows like MacGyver or Knight Rider....

I really forgot Dr. Vindi. His German accent really is fun. And his mad scientist ideas certainly might become creepy and weird. What could he do if he got his hands on some of those Geonosian worms ;-).

So, yeah, if there is going to be prison break episode, I'd like to see him being freed as well.

Oh, and maybe we don't need to get a prison break episode. It's explicitly stated that Poggle is going to Coruscant to face a trial. It would really interesting to see the Supreme Court of the Galactic Republic, the charges Tambor and Poggle are facing, and see some Geonosians and Skakoans and other Techno Union guys storm the Court and get their respective leaders out of this mess.

I might be wrong but I remember Vindi not having strong positive support, he wasn't really liked. It might of been the episodes with the Shadow Virus 2 parter easily being the worst 2 parter or arc in the series so far.

I absolutely hated that guy, mostly because he is a shameless example of the "Herr Doktor" trope. Honestly, his characterization would have been fine without having to riff off of Josef Mengele (poorly, might I add). It seems like 90% of the characterization of these peripheral or recurring characters stems from their accent and 10% from everything else.

Honestly, there probably will be a prison break. It'll be a contrived situation where all the main characters play catch with the Idiot Ball and the bad guys get away. Then Ahsoka will feel sad and Anakin will impart an out-of-character Aesop about learning from mistakes.

Too bad he is not liked- he was soo ridiculous that he was actually good- episodes he was in were bad though- mainly because of JarJar and poor writing but as character he was great addition to sw-characters- he was bit overkill though but i don't care- i liked him...

Blue Shadow Virus would have been good without JarJar addition- he even had that terrible imitator- making him ten times more irritating than "real" Jar Jar of Ahmed Best- i'm not JarJar- hater- but he seems to be excuse to write bad episodes- when he is in they usually add some plot-twists like "JarJar stumbles and accidentally destroys the army of droids" It's sequel (Mystery of thousand moons) was worst TCW-episode by far (i think even Corruption was better) It's good that all TCW-characters have some supporters- i personally dislike Plo Koon... mainly because his "wisdoms" are flat and Filoni likes him over all others... Aayla Secura is also such a b***ch and she has ridiculous outfit and accent- Kit Fisto is alsobit irritating and always too positive.... all clones are bit boring and poor Grievous has been beaten up so badly... he was my favorite in ROTS but now in every episode he fails´... that's hard to watch- at least his escapes are succesful :p

May be- but It's Karen Miller's book and i wouldn't consider them to be canonical- they are openly unlogic with old EU and even with this new series (for example Miller claims that Obi-Wan met Bail Organa first time at the same time when Anakin lost r28-} - but they meet before in Cat and Mouse- and Anakin's knighting was ridiculously early according her canon- few weeks after Geonosis... no way i don't accept that- few months or year maybe but few weeks- no way -would overwrite old Clone Wars:mad: ) Officially they may be canon but i don't think TCW-makers use them as reference (and i hope they don't because i don't like her books:D)
