I can't see Leia wanting to have her surname as Skywalker anyways.

Yeah, exactly. I felt like her surname was more prominent in TFA than in any of the films from the OT.

Indeed, in fact, I'm pretty sure her surname is never mentioned on screen in the OT.

That's what I was thinking, too. I can't recall any such occurrence.

If I recall correctly, the only time the surname Organa was ever mentioned on-screen in any Star Wars film was in ROTS when Obi-Wan Kenobi called Bail "Senator Organa". But it never appeared in the OT.

I wonder if Ben had Organa in his birth name.

I like the idea of Ben Organa-Solo.

idk... Shara Bey keeps her last name and her son (Poe Dameron) has his father's last name (Dameron) ~albeit "Organa" is a powerful name, maybe Ben has both~

Yes, Ben is the firstborn son of the last Princess of Alderaan, so it does make sense that Leia wanted him to have her surname.

Ben Solo is way cooler though.

Yeah, when you grow up on the comics, books, toys and Topps trading card and without hope of this ever coming to HBO let alone a thing called video cassette, you don't realize "Organa" is never uttered. So funny that the movie is coming out on Blu Ray after a little over four months. Return of the Jedi was almost four years!

I can't remember ever not knowing her last name. I know it isn't mentioned in movies (OT), but it was in the novels, I believe, as well as the comics by Marvel.

And of course the action figures -which was more reinforced than the movies for us.

Is this from the special features? I wonder what the context is.

Thanks, MattO.. I appreciate the uncontrolling sobbing you sent me.

Ugh... Why can't we have more adventures of old Han and old Leia? Trying to be objective but I thought their chemistry was still pretty damn good. I just want one more ride of her on the Falcon rolling her eyes when Han screws up. I don't know if Ford would realize this, but I don't think he has had anywhere near the chemistry with all his other leading ladies as he has with Fisher. (Closest was Karen Allen, naturally.)

I will never have enough of their bantering and joking with each other. Too bad we can't make then younger and go back with more movies between Jedi and TFA, just wishful dreaming.

I'm not holding my breathe with this new canon, but I'm still hopeful that the new EU won't totally destroy them.

I like the junior version better in this case. I started crying when I saw it on screen the first time.

She didn't have to be told, or hear or see it. If they were close enough for her to feel it through the force. clearly they were quite close and had a good marriage.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I have no doubt that we'll eventually see younger Han and Leia banter onscreen, live action style.

It just won't be played by Ford and Fisher. I don't think Disney is going to resist trying to successfully recast all three members of the Big 3 and eventually popping out stand alones that milk more adventures out of them.

In which case I may tell Disney to Piss off. I'm tired of everything being milked to death

I saw the deleted scene today for Leia... I thought they were released early or something, then saw it was quickly taken down.

It's fun, but I prefer her introduction coming off the transport. What's nice though is she moves fast, like she has no time to rest and everyone else is just keeping up with her. That's the Leia I like. She's revealed through a pan up starting on her hand receiving the message... With a slight beat before she speaks, obviously for the audience to cheer for one of the Big Three. And it's a nice callback to her first introduction in Star Wars where we see her hand placing the plans into R2. Here she even praises BB8's resolve, "never underestimate a droid." Also interesting is she provides quick but vital info that the Republic is not to be fully trusted... telling one pilot, "we have to be smarter than that." 3PO is also introduced, but not as effectively or brilliantly as in the final film.
