    Ryn Solass

Raising his glass he awaited the customary refill from a server, there wasn't much to see or do except be a proverbial bug in their ear from here. Which was just fine as far as he was concerned, the real motions would begin if they brought him in. Which would mean a change of venue probably to the Playhouse connected to the Hotel unless they wanted to have him come in overtly.

Just in case they did after he was confirmed legit by MI-5 he had the few creds ready to pay for his bill, as he glanced in on the Nuna-ball game. Looked like he might be going to loose some money on that bet, but it didn't matter even if it was his creds, he really just hoped one of the free-lancers didn't come over. If there was a bad way to help a team it was to have them hear you trying to get the word no accross to someone who could pretend convinceingly not to understand the language you where using, while they awaited you to fill them in.

Another voice came over the comm channel.

"Before this turns into a comedy of identity, let's make sure we're on the same frequency. Agent Kannat, this is Agent Ryn Solass, Agent Solass, these are Agents Kannat, Girange, Vendu, Trebond, Carfax and Halon. For the moment, Agent Solass is your man on the outside, useful if you need something done but can't leave the room. Right now he's outside the hotel, but if you work together, we're certain that you'll find some use for his infiltration abilities."

    Stent Kannat

Stent spoke up after the introduction was made. "Well, I think mother would slap me and ask me why I was not giving her any of the money that I had."

One of theirs was on the outside. Now what to do with him? And how to talk to this Agent Solass without giving yourself away? Stent needed input other than just his.

He turned to Agent Halon and began a quiet conversation with him. Hopefully Halon, Solass and any of the other agents would understand what he was trying to get at.

"Mr. Serik, I am quite intrigued with your past, doing all that wonderful combat and infiltrating work. I admit to being a little obsessed with reading espionage literature myself, ever since I was a boy, actually. I imagine you walked into places like this and probably ones that were much more dangerous. Was it mostly intelligence gathering? Say, finding the mastermind's quarters and looking for anything incriminating?"

Stent suddenly broke his train of thought and picked up a menu, admiring it.

"The intricacies of the designs on the menus are marvelous, are they not? Do you think that Mr. Aves Harth or Ms. Jalira Sevana had anything to do with it?"

    Kartov...

That was what they called the Gamorrean. Halon didn't recognize the name but nonetheless thought it might be worth the effort to introduce Agent Girange to him after they succeed in securing a cabin. He continued to listen in on the table but his attempt at further surveillance was suddenly interrupted by Kannat.

"Mr. Serik, I am quite intrigued with your past, doing all that wonderful combat and infiltrating work."

"Eh?" Halon cut the pickup connection and faced him as the the Zeltron continued on.

"I imagine you walked into places like this and probably ones that were much more dangerous. Was it mostly intelligence gathering? Say, finding the mastermind's quarters and looking for anything incriminating?"

He grimaced, unseen. Zorg's teeth, Stent! He'd essentially just outed him as a spy to anyone who might have been listening. Alright then, I shall play your game... This all probably had to do with the Agent Solass situation.

"Actually, most of my recent assignments have involved escorting newly-rich merchants and tourists, terrified of traveling anywhere even just beyond the Core without protection...Speaking of which, sir, do you know if the final member of your party has decided he can join us yet? I could pick him up and be back before the festivities ended."

Taking the several hints that were being dropped he quickly looked at his timepiece before rising and hurrying out the door, dropping the pay for the drinks on the counter. "Pickup, I am just around the bend and a jaunt away. If you want I could enter with one of you admitting me at the door or you could just inform the security computers that a late employee is arriving. Whichever you prefer." he finished in low tones as he hurried down the walkway toward the Hotel and the Auction Hall within.

Still facing Stent but really addressing Agent Solass, Halon rose from the table. "I think it would be for the best if I met your associate and showed him inside, Mr. Kannat. Just make sure everyone stays put here."

Halon winded his way out of the hall and exited the Hotel. It would be better if they could square away any issues with the new agent while they still had the chance to talk freely. He veered off to the parked MI5 speeder to wait for the new arrival and scanned the crowds.

"Ryn Solass? This is Halon. I am in the valet area. Can you see me yet?"

Continueing his jaunt down the walk he continued to listen in, picking up the cues that they had flowing around. Then a bit more of a shocking one, a straight forward no nonsense call to the valet area. If he didn't know better he would have feared a termination by high impact, no one would probably even find his body if that happened here. At least no one or thing that would rather report then eat or trade it.

Looking around he finally spotted what he was pretty sure was the one called Halon. "I believe so. I'll wave without my arms so you'll recognize me as well." As he walked toward the valet area he raised his anteanapulps and waved them in the air as he continued to scan the area as he approached just incase he had marked the wrong likely individual.

Markus looked up to see that Agent Girange had returned from some class-A schmoozing to check on his progress.

"If by things you mean the auction, then they are proceeding quite satisfactorily, Mr Tyler." he replied, hiding the note of triumph in his voice. "One cabin at least should be ours by the end of the evening."

If going with that idea I would have retained simply starting up an independent design company for speeders and highend luxury craft with an outlet for customizations for the opulantly wealthy as a sideline. Now, the first thing one might notice is that Markus is level 14, whereas all previous characters have been level 12. This is less a preferential thing, and more having to do with the fact that this character has been in every single game without dying. Similarly, Joss Vendu and Ruana Trebond are level 13. The rest of you guys are elite agents who have demonstrated yourselves in the past, so you're not too far behind. Yes, I know Halon was in the previous game, but since I decided not to spread the scale out that much, he's maybe level 12.5 instead of 12.

Note the number of hit points. At 76, he's the squishiest member of the group. For the record, blasters deal 3 dice of damage (d4 for light, d6 for standard, d8 for heavy), with double damage when someone rolls a 20 (which is an automatic hit). This doesn't mean that he can take three blaster bolts to the chest, just that he's not going to have a great deal of near-misses/grazing wounds before he goes down. Though frail, he is fairly slippery, and has the highest Will Defense of the group, probably chalked up to sheer stubbornness. Not that he's much of a combatant, since he's got the worst attacks of the group.

Anyways, though he's completely dead-weight in a fight, he's quite useful out of one.

Dastardly Strike represents the ability to hit people when they're not looking. Sure, anyone can do a drive to the haminas, but it takes true talent to do so with consistency.
Gimmick represents familiarity with computers emphasizing speed, perhaps by familiarizing yourself with all those shortkey commands button presses. Anyways, in game terms, you normally can issue one routine command at a time in a round (a nebulous period, assumed somewhere around six seconds), whereas this ability allows you to issue up to three commands in the same amount of time.
Trace. When looking for information, some people go talking to contacts, browsing broadcasts and poking through information kiosks. Others go digging through files. This talent represents being a capable internet detective, provided with access to an appropriate network.
Master Slicer. Remember when I said that some abilities allow you to reroll and take the better of the two? This is one of them. It is awesome. Whenever Markus makes a Use Computer check, I roll two dice and pick the better one.
Knack is an all-purpose reroll representing luck rather than skill. This talent was taken three times, a

He sympathized with Ryn regarding the choice of cover story the others had chosen. Halon had opted to keep things relatively simple himself; posing as a bodyguard wasn't a terrible stretch.

He studied the set of false ears Solass took out with some curiosity. "I am sure whatever guise you are most comfortable with will be for the best, Ryn. Are you currently armed? Smiling he nodded, "Why not, if you'll me a bit of privacy I'll just put these things away while I put my race on." Hopping in the speeder he attempted to covertly stash his weapons under the seat. Then he progressed to attaching the false ears and readjusting his hair to completely conseal his true ears, he probably would have felt more comfortable as himself but when it came to situations such as these comfort wasn't the best thing. After all who would like to have an underworld dealer and information broker on a luxury ship?

Selecting the proper ID and stashing all but one for his lower status alter ego, he slowly got out of the speeder looking much more demure and overwhelmed as someone that didn't get out much. "Hello Serik, sorry about the delay but Reese Colo your Technical Design Planner Administrator is finally ready. That is if it fits the bill of what we need." he added in abit more of a whisper.

OOGM: Ok, let's re-evaluate some rooms here, because I'm tired of holding the window of opportunity open, and I want to allow you guys to do whatever else you feel like doing (if the answer is nothing, we can wrap this up and go home). Note that I've scaled prices up by a factor of around 2.5 to better match the prices I calculated by comparing hotel rates and starship travel rates.

Family Interior: 15,000 credits, consists of one large room and a separate fresher (bathroom). Sleeps up to six people in the same room, some in the two beds that can be combined into one larger bed, and the others on the various pull-out beds. Even though it is one room, it is good-sized, well-furnished, and contains the usual niceties of life such as couches, chairs, wardrobe for storage, holographic entertainment unit and connection to the network.

Starview Family Suite: 20,000 credits, a little larger than the previous room, sleeps eight, with one large sleeping/living area, and one small separate bedroom with a single bed, for when one or two of your roomies are too unsightly for thine eyes. The people sleeping on the sofa and the people sleeping on the two beds/large bed combo are still in the same room. All of the above, plus a pretty neat view, a stereo system, and ways to block that nifty view so you can get some sleep in private.

Grand Family Suite: 36,000 credits, and moves into the realm of "multiple defined bedrooms", consisting of a master bedroom, a smaller bedroom (that still contains the two beds/larger bed set-up), and a separate living area (and separate refresher as well)! Sleeps up to ten people. All of the other luxuries, plus a multi-purpose holographic game system, a transparisteel observation deck (an area that's pretty much floor-to-ceiling window. Balconies don't quite work in the cold vacuum of space) and a full suite sound system (the walls of the place having been designed to minimize the amount of external noise).

Starlight Family Suite: 50,000 credits, among the best in terms of size and accommodation if you aren't in the Empyreal Suites. Two master bedrooms, two regular bedrooms, two freshers, a living area, dining area (with Gourmet Master 300 automated food processor), holotheatre, and a transparisteel observation deck with a jetstream meditation pool. All the neat stuff of the previous rooms plus more, for you and all your friends.

Right now you guys are looking at option 1. If you're satisfied with your purchase, we can assume you guys wind up paying about double the price listed and move on. If not, you've only got a few minutes to indulge in a little more electronic skulduggery before everyone room of every class has had at least one bid placed on it (because if you remove a room from the list with a bid on it, you might get confused patrons asking questions). I've held the window of opportunity open long enough on this part.

And as always, if you've everything you feel like doing here, we can call it a wrap. If not, then it's back to spying on old men or harassing the Tagge family or something.

Markus had looked over the suites again and had decided that maybe it was worth spending a little more than was strictly necessary on a suite. After all, he didn't want to share too much room with the other Agents. They were getting on his nerves already, after all.

Seeing as he'd already opened up the maximum level of clearance on the datapad, it was a simple matter for Markus to pull an untouched Grand Family Suite from the bidding and replace it with the other Family Interior. Two rooms, big living room. Maybe this way he wouldn't have to listen to too much of his colleagues' whinging.
