ST CASTING RUMORS

Some people act like they're paying El Mayimbe. I imagine the scooping business is difficult. Sometimes the information you get is unstable, open to change. Then fans complain about only delivering small scoops, as though they could do better themselves.

And then some fans say they don't believe rumors, but then spread rumors about certain actors, although they have no real evidence to back the rumor up. It would be really easy to spread rumors about an innocent person on the net with attitudes like this.

If Eh Maybe would drop one scoop for every score or so of tweets saying he was going to say something huge, and if 10% of those were right, we'd have the entire cast and script of Episode VII by now. I get that he's trying to run a business, but you have to drop a scoop before teasing the next one.

I ask again. If you don't like the rumors posted on here. Why do you comment in this thread? I mean what is your or others purpose to come in this thread to trash those that want to speculate on rumors. Not one person in here are asking you guys to believe the rumors. I mean some of you act like we put a gun to your head. Saying you must come to this thread and call anyone that post rumors trolls. I mean seriously.

 

Let's face it, at this stage in the game, all we have is rumours. Half the fun is to try speculate about the rumours.

The other half is to try to prove or disprove the rumours. But it requires proof either way. Stating that someone is a troll doesn't cut it. Likewise going on someone's history to disprove a rumour doesn't cut it either. Even a stopped watch is right twice a day.

 

Excatly,I just don't get why some have to be so negative about certain things. I mean thier plenty of threads on these forums. If you don't want to talk about the rumors posted or don't believe them fine. This thread just not for you. Simply go on another thread and talk about some thing else.

 

It's okay to disbelieve a rumour on these threads. But let's not have 'They won't be in it' comments. Back it up with evidence, or at least how you reach that conclusion. It makes for a more interesting thread, or at least opens a discussion.

 

Oh,most of the rumors I don't believe myself,but it fun to speculate on them. To talk about if they did happen or why they may not happen. That is what this thread for. It the comments or one lines of "The guy posting a rumor is a troll" that bugs me. Especially when peeps make comments like "Thier never right" Then when certain peeps bring up why they do get things right from time to time. They resort back to the troll comments. It's just silly to me. lol

 

Totally agree with you here. But, unfortunately, 'tis the way of the forum. When people get backed into corners, they revert to what I call 'schoolyard mentality' lol.

Of course you also have the ones that only go off what others have said. I think a lot of those who criticise LR and other sites fall into that category.

Come on people, in a time where there is no info, at least they are trying to unearth stuff.

I agree with the credibility part, anyone's guess is as good as any. No one is forcing anyone to visit the thread or believe the rumors... but I do find annoying the endless teasing without substance.

 

Exactly. You don't have to believe them. Nobody owes anybody anything. Even if everything posted turns out to be 100% bs, who cares. Without these speculative rumours, we wouldn't have had a single other thing to post about over the pats month or so. But if you'd prefer absolute radio silence until LFL, Disney or "the Trades" confirm something to your satisfaction, have fun with that.

Yes, I wish they would just drop when they get stuff as opposed to teasing, but partly that's the nature of Twitter and also, of course they want to boost their hits, etc.

That does not make someone a troll - it makes them a tease/ attention hound.

Finally, as per the blog post linked above - I'm sure LR are an annoyance to some studios, and I'm sure they get jerked around accordingly, but any studio head that OKs casting or script decisions based on whether LR happens to have broken the scoop is not the head of a studio. Just not going to happen.

Long story short: "The Maybe" gave us another "These 4 people read for a part" but cannot confirm or deny rumor "and may or may not" have pic of the Falcon. So far nothing officially confirmed. Just JJ has a man-crush on Benedict Cumberbatch. (who can blame him).

And that said, I would hope they would build The Falcon this far ahead of schedule...if there's one set us nerds will pick apart to a centimeter, its that ship. "because it has to feel real" (rolls eyes at how out of hand "some people" are getting.)

 

I'd rather be hearing who 'may' have gone in to read/ meet than have zero starting point at all. At least it vaguely focusses discussion.

For info. I have read all the pages of this thread. My question was quite simply, is this new information on auditions. Clearly, by your response, it isn't new details. Would have been quicker and easier to answer as such, rather than being snide. But it's your time I guess lol.
