    DRAGSTER:

Finally, an answer to the question:

"What does it feel like to cruise to Earth from a height of more than 400 feet at speeds exceeding 100 mph?"

Cedar Point amusement park/resort will stun thrill-seekers in 2003 with the debut of the park's unprecedented 16th, yes, 16th roller coaster - Top Thrill Dragster. Reaching a stratospheric 420 feet tall and topping out at an unheard of speed of 120 mph, this new steel screamer will help Cedar Point reclaim the title of owning the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the universe.
Riders will begin their epic journey aboard this whopping 42-story screamer by securing themselves into ultra-cool trains that resemble top fuel dragsters. The train will then move into a "starting line" position, where it will launch forward, reaching speeds of 120 mph in approximately four seconds.

But hold on ? this isn't your father's roller coaster. The train will then zoom straight up the 420-foot-tall hill on track that will rotate 90 degrees, crest the coaster's apex and then free fall back to Earth, reaching a speed of 120 mph for the second time. As the train races more than 400 feet to the ground, the track will twist an unbelievable 270 degrees - what a rush! Riders will then return to the station to begin regaling their friends with stories of the greatest ride of their lives.

I read this ride had some accident recently where a tire blew off. And also that the ride is prone to breaking down.

    Cedar Point Bathroom Passes

(Sandusky-AP) -- Add bladder-busting to the list of adjectives being used to describe the world's tallest rollercoaster at Cedar Point.
Park workers handed out bathroom passes to those in line for the new Top Thrill Dragster on opening day Sunday, when riders flocked to the coaster and waited for more than four hours for the experience.
The coaster shoots riders up and over a steep 420-foot hill and then sends them plummeting back to earth.
Cedar Point spokesman Robin Innes says the passes were made available so those waiting in line could leave for the bathroom without losing their place.
Innes says the park plans to increase the number of trains on the coaster from three to five. Each train carries 16 passengers.

    From SCREAMSCAPE:

(5/27/03) Several readers reported in last night that Dragster broke its launch cable sometime Monday evening. It?s not known how long it will take Cedar Point to reopen the ride, but apparently they have a spare cable on site and should reopen it soon, assuming there was no other damage. Another interesting item about Dragster is that they have removed the fake engine and tires from the back of all six trains. One reader caught up with the park?s head ride guru, Monty Jasper the other day who said that they were just ?evaluating the ride? and that it was not a weight issue. He did seem to indicate that they would like to address the capacity issue by adding another row of seats if possible. No firm word on this however. THIS JUST IN... We have recieved a report from SixFlagsNews.com that has an eye-witness report claiming to have seen one of the Goodyear tires fly off of the ride on Sunday (May 25th) night around 11pm, and managed to get a photo of the train with the missing tire. This would explain why all of the tires and engines were removed by Monday.
(5/22/03) While Dragster is now open, we?ve heard several reports this week about some serious downtime issues with it. On a few days Dragster was not opened until about four hours after the park was open and they?ve taken to removing several of the heavy themed elements from the trains over the weekend like the large tires, and one train was seen running without the entire spoiler, tires or engine block. Wait times are still said to be anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hours on any given day.

If I ever feel like killing myself, I know which theme park to visit.
