Celebration III

Hey guys, I got an email from Mary Franklin. If you can volunteer, send me a PM and I'll give you further info. You get the cost of your badge reimbursed, you "may" be able to enter the convention early without standing in lines (depends what shift you are working), and may qualify for reduced hotel rates. C2 ventures also needs help with the autograph area, see the thread in the Star Wars Celebration forum for more information on that. Compensation for working in the autograph area will be free autographed signatures from the stars, plus you will get to meet them and hang out with them awhile.

We have need of more dependable fan volunteers, both costumed and not, for Celebration III. Some time ago Tim Knapp, who is CCd in this email, was asked by us to cap the volunteer list, because we were afraid there were getting to be more volunteers than jobs. As the big party gets closer, however, we find we need more help!

I know that many of you will be busy at Celebration III leading your group efforts. However, we?d really appreciate it if you could ask within your clubs and regions for more volunteers. There could be some who wanted to get in on the list who were not able to, and some who would still like the chance to get their badge reimbursed.

Please work through Tim, who can add facilitate adding folks to the database. There is a time crunch. Celebration III is close!

Dude, I looked at every flight and found nothing. I could leave the same day, but couldn't come back until monday, or even tuesday. It bites, but maybe it wasn't meant to be.

I will be giving someone money for a few autographs, if that is cool.

I know this whole experience would be better if I was there, but i know you guys will have fun without me.

 

It's official. da nads is goin. yes, i changed my name(heber). it's a bit more catchy, eh? anyway, i'm on flight with adam and erik. yippee!

 

Good to have you aboard Heber! Even though this is coming up fast it still seems like a ways off. I wish it would hurry up and get here!

It sounds like everything is set and locked in stone at this point.

 

It would appear that way...probably good to keep up contact and make sure things don't suddenly change for people as has been happening as of late.

BTW, Erik, did you order your Meekrab shirt, yet?

 

I forgot to order the Meekrab shirt and now they don't have any in my size but I'll keep checking. Russell and I got into the Fan Club Breakfast Friday morning which should be pretty cool. I was thinking since that starts at 7 and the con goes to midnight with the films screening, that day would be like 17 straight hours of nothing but Star Wars. Holy Crap!

Only a month away!! I'm toughening up my stomach so that White Castle won't immediately kill me.

 

I sure hope I get my badge soon.. I heard we shouldn't start worrying until April 1 if we don't see ours by now.

 

anybody got a hang glider? it would be a sweet entrance for white castle. we might have to rent a silver corolla, too. maybe nph and some hot chicks will be in the trunk.

oh, and, no i haven't received my badge neither.

 

We'll need to find some extreme sports punks whose vehicle we can steal, too. But there's no !@~#in' way I'm listenin' to Wilson Philips on this trip!

 

oh, come on adam. I know you could sing it really well. you know you want all of the girls in wilson phillips, so just sing the dang song.

 

How is singing that stupid song gonna help me get the chicks in Wilson Philips? And what would I do with them, anyway? Have 'em clean out my garage? Besides, if I was gonna end up with a girl group, I'd rather end up with The Donnas. Yeah!

 

Yeehaw! Just got my badge in the mail today!

 

Russell and I did the math on the hotel costs. We are going to need $125 from each person, in advance since Russell and I will have to pay for the rooms when we get there. Since Barry and Valerie will only be there for three nights we only need about $90 from each of them.
I figure we will figure out who is staying in which room when we get there. I requested ajoining rooms but they couldn't promise anything.
We are also not renting a car since we will be so close to the con.

i've got a friend from phoenix who will be there with us. i think i already mentioned it but he and his wife will only be with us for one night. i'm not sure what night. how much should i tell them will be there part for the one night?

GEORGE LUCAS IS CONFIRMED TO BE COMING TO CELEBRATION III!!!!!!!!!

Star Wars creator/writer/director George Lucas will make an extraordinary guest appearance at Celebration III. His appearance at the Indiana Convention Center during the huge Star Wars fan festival will mark the first time that Lucas has attended a fan convention since the gathering that marked the 10-year anniversary of A New Hope in 1987.

"George has been very busy finishing Episode III, getting the last shots from ILM, and doing the final mix," said Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm's head of Fan Relations. "So we were delighted that he was able to carve some time out from a heavily-booked schedule to share some of his thoughts with fans in person as he completes this amazing 30-year screen saga."

The filmmaker will be appearing on the Sagamore Ballroom stage with host Jay Laga'aia, where he will answer questions about his experiences creating the Star Wars saga, the surprises along the way, and his thoughts about what might come next both for him as a filmmaker and for Star Wars after Revenge of the Sith leaves the big screen.

Final details are being arranged, but Lucas has confirmed his plans to be in Indianapolis at some point during the four-day Celebration III, April 21 -- 24. Gen Con LLC, which is managing Celebration III in partnership with Lucasfilm, has reopened its advance ticket sales from now through 5:00 PM PST this Friday, April 8. If you haven't purchased a ticket yet, this is one way to guarantee your ability to attend the biggest Star Wars fan convention ever. Advance ticket sales already are well more than double those of advanced sales for Celebration II.

Please check the onsite schedule and the Information Booth at the Indiana Convention Center for the details of Lucas' appearance at Celebration III. The details will also be posted on www.starwars.com/c3 before the show. To purchase advance tickets for Celebration III go to www.starwarscelebration.com until Friday, April 8, 5:00 PM PST. Badges for Celebration III may be picked up at appropriately-marked Will Call kiosks in the registration area at the Convention Center. Because it is so close to the show, Gen Con will be able to process only regular orders during the extension period. Those who wish to add Official Star Wars Fan Club member benefits to their order may do so at the Fan Club Kiosk during the show.
