And here I was thinking Black Krrsantan was Chewie and he was just burnt up a little after that explosion..

Have to admit I can’t help but like the villain in this, his casual disregard for anything that is decent or alive is kind of refreshing.

 

This issue didn't really have any surprises or blow me away unless I'm really missing something.

 

Zeltrons were already recanonized in A New Dawn.

 

This series makes me glad that they're going in a prequel trilogy direction for the next mini as this whole series so far has been mediocre

 

Now that I think of it, the red ladies with Jaum at the club are in fact Devaronian females: notice the twin dark spots on the forehead.

 

Have to say this has been by far my least favorite series so far. It's basically just a little girl talking to herself.

 

Who watches star wars for the opening crawl?!

 

Have you guys heard of Garfield minus Garfield? I think it would be funny to see this comic as Chewbacca minus Chewbacca.

 

I'm enjoying the series mostly. It's difficult to depict Chewbacca authentically and convincingly due to his speaking constraints. However, I feel the comics have captured his overall spirit very successfully and even poignantly. Jaum is a cruelly pragmatic villain who makes for an interesting antagonist, and Zarro and her father are likable enough as well. I think the part of the series that excites me the most are the brief flashbacks we get of when Chewbacca was enslaved by the Trandoshans. Might we get an actual canonized glimpse of how Han rescues him from bondage? It would be cool to see this event legitimately canonized.

 

There's ways around that. "All-Wookiee stories" like Star Wars Adventures: Chewbacca and the Slavers of the Shadowlands have everyone speaking normal dialogue, with < > signs around it to indicate that it is translated Wookiee.

This is even worse than the Droid arc from TCW S5, at least I could laugh at how bad that arc was. I won't even bother to review this any further

 

I enjoyed this issue the most so far in this series. Noto's artwork is still outstanding, the story is just not that interesting. It's a been here, seen this before.

 

The Leia mini was way better than this. This story is boring... I will agree about the Leia artwork though not a big fan of that artist. This Chewbacca story would've been way better if it was about Han and Chewie leading a bunch of wookiee commandos on a back water world to free some slaves or something. That's what I was hoping for in the Chewbacca series. Instead we get this crappy little girl who looks more like a little boy. Running around telling grownups what to do. Ugh kids in stories...

 

I'm usually OK with slower storytelling, but did we really need 6 pages devoted to Chewie getting out of a hole? This is a case where the comic will read a lot better in trade than it does as an individual issue.

 

This series is a prime example why Marvel writers can't just pick an OT character's name out of a hat and give them a miniseries.

 

Has not stopped them with Vader either and that is on its third story arc and has not gone anywhere. This one is at least trying to have some fun
