Chris Kattan in Mango: The Movie

Not to be confused with Liz Skywalker's sig, I just read somewhere that the people at SNL, including Lorne Michaels, are writing a script for the a movie starring the SNL character "Mango" played by Chris Kattan. I find this hard to believe that they are making yet another movie based on a SNL character but apparently it IS in the works!!

Yeah, I agree. This sucks now. Anyways,
they said something along the lines of them
having the money for another SNL based
movie. Although they usually are terrible
movies, I think they end up making at least
SOME money due to the fact that the movies
are so cheap to create. Anyways, they were
planning on a "Sprockets" movie, since SNL
owns the intellectual rights to "Sprockets"
and Mike Meyers is busy doing other stuff,
that they were going to make yet another movie based on an SNL character, and they
decided on Mango I guess.

thegreatyoda: despite the fact that a few more mouse clicks won't hurt me, the fact that those few mouse clicks are caused by a post where you have no other reason than to post an extended version of the word "no" (see how easy that was, only two letters?!) is really what has ruined the whole thread. And the fact that 1) you accused someone of sending you a PM with no subject is completely hypocritcal, as your above post contributed nothing to the thread, and 2) you continue to be antagonistic by editing your above post, and leaving said post the way it was, really has shown the jackassian nature of your true self. Mango: The Movie. If this isn't just a romor, it just goes to show any skit that survives more than a couple repeat appearances gets made in a movie. I recently asked my friend why they haven't made a Celebrity Jeopardy Movie yet. :rolleyes

Why do they keep making these stupid SNL movies? As far as I know, they are rarely ever hits, and rarely make much more then their production cost. I truly feel sorry for anyone who saw an SNL movie commercial and said "I've gotta see that!"

Hmmm $8 for an SNL movie equates to $100 for a Star Wars movie?

 

the only time I've really enjoyed a performance by "little" Chris Kattan
was the opening of the recent SNL show
where he repeatedly HIT the Rock. It
was funny and surprising...but I really
wanted to see THE ROCK hit him back!

I'm guessing Mango: The Movie would involve Mango getting into (relatively) wacky situations, and include a gaggle of cameos from various people (just my guess). Ok, so what has better odds: Mango: The Movie being funny, or me winning the lottery, getting struck by lightening, and having a hole in one all on the same day???
