I thought The Prestige was poorly paced, a bit confusing at times, with a rediculous story. It had some really cool moments that redeemed it, but in the end I'd say it was shockingly average and forgettable. The only part that was really memorable to me was Bowie as Tesla.

EDIT: Also, Batman Begins was better than TDK.

But that's what's brilliant about it.

Don't you like stage magic, scummy? The whole movie was like one big one, thus the premise. It had the Pledge, the Turn and the Prestige right at the end.

I need to get the DVD so I can watch it again.

I think it pales significantly next to The Illusionist, which is a lot more conventional.

Oh please, the Joker was beyond brilliant but Dent was simply good. I didn't find anything special in his story and found the aftermath of his death waaaaay too preachy.

I like stage magic, however that's not what I want from my movie. What Boba_Fett_2001 highlighted might be why I hated it, I never wanted to be fooled by the movie. I just felt like it was trying (poorly) to play the audience. Oh, and the Tesla duplicating machine was waaaaay beyond suspension of belief.

You were MEANT to be fooled. Explaining a magic trick is what kills it.

A movie isn't a magic trick. I also don't watch magic tricks wanting to be fooled, I watch them to try and catch the trick. And even if I did go into the movie wanting to be fooled it doesn't change the fact that the Tesla story arc made absolutely no sense.

EDIT: I suppose I should be more specific, I don't mean that the movie fooled me or that I didn't understand the Tesla story arc. I meant that the idea of Tesla inventing a duplicator machine is impossible to buy.

YES PEOPLE PAY HOMAGE TO ME.

George Lucas and that schmuck Peter Jackson aren't fit to lick my shoes.

As for that upstart Zack Snyder, I will have his head.

    I like all these directors.
    Really.
But I just needed to let you know that Terry Gilliam beat them all up and stole their lunch money.
    and their girlfriends.
