I can't get those to open, Kast...

Still on the top ten list: the Wendy's Russian fashion show is a hoot. (I particularly liked nightwear: daywear with a flash light)

One of the ones that stuck with me was a commercial for a French sports newspaper. A man comes home and sits on the couch, paper in hand, and he turns on the television. A woman comes into the room, and there?s an initial moment of confusion on her face, and then she starts screaming in panic. The man is initially confused, and then he quickly puts the paper up in front of his face. The woman calms down immediately, and goes ?Oh honey, it?s you!?

The other version is even better in my opinion. A child is getting ready for bed, and the father comes and sits down next to the bed. The child, busy plumping up his pillows and arranging his sheets, doesn?t notice him at first. When he does, he immediately panics, screaming, crying out for his mother. The father is once again confused for a moment, and then he puts the paper up in front of his face again. The child calms down, and hugs his father through the paper.

The US adapted something like that for an AOL commercial which, to me, was particularly humorous (which is saying a lot since I despise AOL), which is a man trying to comfort a crying baby tried everything (feeding, changing, singing, playing, faces, etc.) and finally logs on to AOL and shows the baby pictures of Cindy Crawford which immediately calms the child down...

... and then Cindy Crawford comes home later and is the baby's momma.

Working my way through the top ten commercials: the "Aaron Burr" commercial is hilarious...

Beer commercials seem to be the most creative, for some reason...

Funniest commercials right now, they're mostly on the radio though:

The Guiness "Brilliant" commercials are funny. There is one Snickers commercial from the 90's I always like to bring up. It's the one where the QB gets knocked out of his mind and thinks he's Batman.

"Hello good citizen. My name is Batman. You could be my assistant! Would you like that? Would you like to ride with Batman?"

Of course, there's the only commercial at this year's Super Bowl that made me, and only me, laugh: The Emerald Nuts commercial.

They are great. Especially the Super Bowl ones. I'm currently researching beer commercials for my production company and I have an actor who really wants to be in one; I'm not to sure about supporting beer for moral issues - still, I'm producing and directing spec commercials now. :)

I always liked the UK's Irn Bru adverts, especially the posters and the Tennants Lager Adverts.

They show a selection of good European commercials on the news every month. I notice they are a lot more risque than N. American ones...

I got my hands on as many of the Budweiser frog/lizard commercials as I could and cut them together. The resulting compilation runs 6:32. One of the best things I've ever done on a computer.

Ford apparently denied having anything to do with this commercial, and no wonder: http://funstream.tv/Ford%20Ka%20Cat.mpeg

It has to be one of the most perverse ever. :p

Classic Canadian beer commercial runs like this:

"____________", the best beer for Canada's two seasons...winter and July.

    Well, it was.

You had to be there. :p

This commercial with Snoop Dogg is the funniest commercial of all time. Bar none.

There might have been some competition for it if it hadn't been for the disclaimer.

I like the commercial which has the Mongols v. the Vandals, and there's a guy in the middle, eating a chocolate bar, who says: "Is it really who gets the magic sword, or are you are all just on edge because you're hungry?"

    NHL commercial.

Middle-aged guy comes into his bedroom. His wife's in bed. Lying beside her, in full hockey kit, is a hockey player.

Middle-aged guy: "Honey, why is Peter Forsberg in bed with you?"
Middle-aged woman: "He's just here to remind you that the NHL season is starting." She then looks as Forsberg, who's deadpan, and says: "Will you kill the lights, Peter?"
Forsberg swings his stick and shatters the bedside light.

I fell off my chair laughing.

The Mean Joe Green one is classic. The Miller lIte Comemrcials of the early to mid 80s were also quite good in their use of clebs (Less Filing - Tastes Great!)

Favorite current commercial is running here in Austria: World Cup skiing great Hermann "the Herminator" Maier does a commercial for a bank where he's a bit older and telling his ficticious son about how he had to decide between a career in skiing or in golf. It then shows him having decided to opt for golf, playing mini-golf at various ages. The close returns to the shot of Maier and his son, panning back o reveal a rather crappy looking mini-golf course with a sign in the background "Maier and Sons Mini Golf" as Maier says to his son "Just think son, someday this will all be yours." The commercial in question

Also, there are a couple of condom commericals that have won awards at Cannes. One with the kid who throws a tantrum at the market, the other with the Mom who keeps saying yes. Will look for them when I have a minute.
