Closer (Natalie Portman's new movie)

What is the film about, I have never heard of it!

 

It's a romantic film which involves several love triangles. It also stars Clive Owen, Jude Law and Julia Roberts and was filmed in London.
I do know that Natalie plays a stripper (maybe that's why the thread was locked, hehe??) and she gets involved with both Jude's and Clive's character.

There is a trailer around somewhere, and the preview response has been mostly good but it doesn't come out until December. It's an arty film too so don't expect a wide release.

I'm not sure if I'll see it though, might not be my cup of tea.

 

The cast looks pretty good except for Julia. I hate her and her teeth.

 

It's not just Portman's movie. I enjoyed Director Mike Nichol's The Birdcage. I haven't seen any of his other work. I'll hold judgement for this movie until I see it.

I saw the trailer while watching Garden State. It seems interesting enough.

You're missing out then. He did "The Graduate" as well as "Working Girl." He's one of the best. I'd expect this one to be good as well.

 

Natalie has been busy with movies in recent months.
So now she is in a role which is the fantasy of every fan boy out there....Natalie Portman as a stripper.

They talked about it on Conan when she was promoting Garden State. Conan was doing his evil little laugh talking about her being a stripper. Needless to say I was interested.

 

I hope Natalie can keep up with the busy days ahead of her. She very hard working but I hope that it doesn't catch up with her.

I find it interesting that Portman and Jude Law are in the same movie again, shortly after they both appeared in Cold Mountain.

Portman's pink hair reminded me of Scarlett Johannson's similar look during one part of Lost in Translation. Not that the two parts bear much resemblence to each other, but Charlotte is one of my favorite film characters, and the physical resemblence was interesting .

Yeah, Scarlett Johansson does the hair better. Well, it goes without saying that she does everything better, but . . .

Me neither, but I'll probably wind up seeing it. I just find the love triangle thing too cliché, but that's just me.

 

Yeah, I never thought I would see her playing a stripper. I wonder if this means she will do a nude scene. Is it true that she shows a very quick glance of her nipples in Cold Mountain?

 

I have to pay more attention to posts. I thought ZombieProblems wasn't looking forward to it.

i just saw a preview for it during garden state.

it looks really cool, i'm very interested to see what it would be like. IT had a sweet cast, Jude Law, Natalie P, Julia roberts and Clive owen.

I can't wait to see it.

P.S. I don't think Natalie POrtman is concerned about nudity anymore or at least not the way she was when she was younger. she did scenes in Cold Mountain she would've objected against in earlier films.....

 

Just saw the preview on Apple.com. Looks to be interesting, although it took me a couple minutes to recognize Natalie Portman's character.

Wow...Jude Law is really being overexposed recently. How many films has he been in that have been released recently? Four? I remember when it was a big deal for an actor or actress to have TWO films in theaters within months of each other.

"The Blower's Daughter" video is great and also is the song!


As for the movie, I am really looking forward to see it. I have a feeling that it's going to be really good!
