I see. Just like a lot of things in this country, the NFL is becoming more and more an attention seeking spectacle, going for cheap entertainment and headlines instead of honor and integrity.

Anyhow, sorry for mini rant. I believe athletes should be respectful of their opponents and simply hand the ball back to the official. No need to present a one act play simply for doing your job adequately.

I can't imagine behaving like that simply for doing my job.

 

What's worse is that if a team is trailing by at least 20 points, then they score a touchdown, one of the players on the scoring team excessively celebrates...while their team is getting crushed.

 

Exactly. Great point. Yea, your team is getting destroyed, but you helped cut the deficit to only 14 pts with a minute to go.

You should probably do a backflip, 12 cartwheels and the moonwalk for your heroic efforts in your teams imminent defeat. Total nonsense and disrespectful to the game.

That's your interpretation of what I'm saying based on your opinion of what is fun.

When a LB makes a routine tackle to hold a RB to one or two yards, he need not pound his chest like Thor, scream towards the heavens and point to the sky.

He is paid millions of dollars to run after and tackle another guy. If he succeeds at this heroic feat, he should be happy to get ready for the next play imo. And grateful that he makes that much money for doing that job. No need to be arrogant and cocky about it.

There is nothing wrong with celebrating a goal or a TD with your teammates. No need to act out an elaborate routine or be arrogant about it though.

 

But who decides what the acceptable behavior is for kids playing a game? Should we all wear uniforms to school too? Cuz that's more serious biz than a game. Why not tell that person who won on Wheel of Fortune to stop jumping up and down and screaming cuz they're rubbing it in to the poor losers?

There's a game clock and a play clock. Isn't that enough limitation on celebration? Plus I've seen guys get serious injuries doing a cele so a good coach could show their team that tape to curb it even more.

So, my family just came back from a hike and dinner at a local burger place. My wife was looking at news. "Another Harvey Weinstein scandal in the news." My reaction: "Those kinds of scandals in Hollywood? OK. We just finished a hike in the woods. I stepped on a leaf. A LEAF, I tell you!" Honestly, I'm not taking away from the abused parties, but the "casting couch" has it's name for a reason. Someone abusing his power in Hollywood is no surprise to me.

In the original King Kong Carl Denham tells Fay Wray that he will make her into a star when he meets her on the street. She is immediately suspicious and says something like "no monkey business." And this was 1933.

 

What is the date and time for the World Series this week? I haven't watched King Kong in a long time. The remakes of this film isn't the same like the original .

 

The first game of the World Series is Tuesday at 8:30 EST I believe. The original King Kong is in my top 10 movies of all time. Not sure if it's nostalgia or not, but it's a classic. I liked Skull Island more than Peter Jackson's remake. I find it mildly amusing that we rarely talk about Star Wars in here, except for Porgs. I suppose that will change as the new film approaches.
