Cody's Lightsaber

Did Commander Cody ever use Obi-Wan's lightsaber? Or were the clones taught that curiosity killed the cat?

Also, if he was holding it in his hand, how could he almost forget to give it to Obi-Wan...it's because he wanted to keep it. But guilt got the better of Cody and he gave it back.

Using a lightsaber in combat requires special training. Clonetroopers lacked this training, so the wise thing to do would have been to not try to use it in combat.

It doesn't require much training to plunge an energy blade into the skull of a droid. I wouldn't be surprised if Cody wanted to use it and maybe just flicked it on and off...just to feel the power.

 

A lightsaber can be used by anyone. But only Jedi can do things with it such as blocking blaster bolts.

1) Emergency javlion in case a Spontaneous javlion throw competition starts up

Yeah. Considering you're the commander of your entire batallion, it doesn't look very good if you start playing with a lightsaber in front of your troops while they're fighting. If there was any curiousity in Cody's mind, it would have been squelched out by a voice in his head saying "Now is not the time, lead your soldiers to victory first". Not to mention that he would be fooling around with his superior's weapon. Not good. Not good at all.

lol this is a good post, i think the clones are more like Han Solo, "nothing like a good blaster at your side". They probably think the Jedi abit strange running into battle with exaggerated glow rods

 

Ever seen what it might look like from Cody's point of view? All that electronic and vision enhancements in that awesome helmet; that bright blue lightsaber must've looked really cool, if he decided to turn it on once or twice.

 

All the Clones are solid soldiers that are well disciplined. Cody would not have let his curiosity get the best of him in battle.

 

well he WAS wearing it on his belt right before he gave it back. he probably thought he looked cool and everything.

 

I'd think that I looked pretty cool if I had a working lightsaber clipped to my belt.
