Ekaterina nodded her thanks and stepped inside the tavern, letting her eyes adjust to the dark contrast from the outdoors. She moved silently over, to let John in. "Shall we take a seat?"

The pair of them sat down at a table near the corner.

"What would you like to drink?"

The young agent looked around for a moment, before letting her eyes come to rest upon John. "Something with vodka." Ekaterina really didn't care.

John went over to the bar and ordered two vodka cruisers. He returned with the drinks.

"Do you think we'll be able to get any information from here?"

ooc: just look out for the unexpected surprises Mirax. I had to operate the lighting with about 15 mins notice on one of the nighttime performances. (someone remembered that I work as an AV Tech). I was only there originally to do choreography which was hard enough.

Ekaterina took the drink from John, "Thanks." She took a small sip of it, then looked around once more. "Hopefully." she said, referring to his question. "If we find the right people to talk to.."

ALL: A week later, and I haven't gotten an update in. Due to extended freedom of schedules tomorrow, expect the update to happen then. This is NOT a drill.

Smiling, he picked [b]Unheil[/b] up and opened the car door, settling down in the back seat with a smile on his face. The driver showed up a few seconds later, slightly terrified at the sight of the little monkey. Last time he had driven them to the vet, he had wound up with a nasty bite in his good arm, and he didn't want a repeat.[/color]

[color=blue][b]Marshall Summers[/b] sat in the motorcade with a grim look on his face. Something about this entire convention worried him to the bone, if not deeper. Silently, he turned to face his emperor, knowing from means other than sight where the royal one would be seated.

Strangely, knowing that the great emperor was nearby did nothing to calm him or abate his worries. His raspy, snake-like voice seemed to croak out of him. "My Emperor, may I speak freely with you? Not as battle advisor, but as a worried citizen of Rome?"[/color]

Shigeru made his way through the airport, making his way to the customs terminal. He noted several of the differences between this airport and the ones in Japan, but he also noted the similarities. Some things, he decided, were the same in any culture.

Unheil looked aroung a little nervously until she knew for sure they were not going to the vet. She then settled down next to her master and went to sleep.

History? Could he be any more vague? Karolina thought. UN meetings had historically been called for an number of reasons- routine business, specific concerns, a world crisis- it could be any one of those. However, the urgency of the summons and the secrecy of the information suggested something of great concern.

The curator had said recent history, so in a sense that narrowed the possibilities. Karolina went through the noteworthy events of the past years in her head. It was a difficult task, even for one who had seen many of the stories when they were first reported. There were the US current events, which somehow always made news even if they didn't relate in the least to the rest of the world, and mishaps in the Middle East, and the Russian Federation to the east...

Oh. Russia. There've been rumblings of trouble for months. It was admitably a wild guess, but the curator did not seem inclined to give many tips.

"As a preliminary guess I would hypothesize it has something to do with Russia," she said tentatively.

IC as Andrei Mikhailov

In a toast to Soviet efficency in getting their job done ahead of anyone else by many light years, Andrei proposed a toast to his personal aide - which was suprrising given the rarity of Andrei showing any emotion whatsover - and managed to get through a bottle of vodka with his friends as the night progressed.

That night the slept well, and continued to wait for the coming day when the talks would begin here in Geneva.

TAG: Seriously like does anyone want to have a cup of tea and scones or something.

 

Lt. Will Kent

Colombia

"Fan out," Will said, "And target the SAM launchers. I'll take the first one." With that, he smiled as his deadly strike force did as ordered.

This would be a quick mission with minimal casualties.....at least, that's what Will hoped.

He kept the bomb bay doors closed, wanting to acquire a lock before he opened them and revealed his position. He silently waited for the targeting system to acquire a lock.

Notes before I begin this update...

A: Seeing some people just randomly disappear without warning makes me sad. I'd be happy if they came back, but it's understandable if they don't. School first, of course.

B: On that note, expect updates to decrease in frequency. School started last week.

C: When it comes to composing updates during free time, I have found a cool equation:

Just watch out for typos.

In fact, there are some fanatics who still think that Communism is a powerful force in the global political scene, and will pull out all the stops to make that a reality.

[color=blue]There was a momentary flicker of the lights as the pub's fuse box fluctuated just a little. Fortunately, it was short-lived enough that the patrons were quickly able to get back to their drinks and/or meals.

If Milne and Voronkova took careful count, they would notice that there were 10 noticeably drunk patrons in the pub. It would be very profitable for them to 'ask around'.[/color]

[color=blue]The Deputy Director was fuming, and rightly so. His memory told him that he had assigned four soldiers to accompany Lieutenant Voronkova and Major-General Mile to assist with the mission and ensure their safety. He had just concluded a surprise meeting with two of them; like him, they seemed rather upset.

In a visibly disheartened manner, the Deputy Director sat down at his computer and prepared an inter-office memo to his immediate superior.

Administrator, the mission to Warsaw is in what seems, to my trained senses, to be a state of utter failure. Our two insertion agents, [b]Maj-Gen Milne[/b] and [b]Lt. Voronkova[/b], have neglected to take at least part of their escort with them, increasing the likelihood of them suffering torture or death through capture.

In light of this incident, I am sending a recovery operative to retrieve them. He will be under orders to apprehend them at the nearest opportunity and perform his mission under strict silence. The two field officers are slated for demotion, and a report from [b]Colonel Auschwitz[/b] will determine whether or not they are deported to the Gulag.[/blockquote]Clicking the 'Send' button was perhaps the hardest part of the memo, for in that one act the fates of the two officers had been effectively sealed.[/color]

[color=blue]The ride to the plane was short and uneventful, despite how thick traffic was for the ride. The actual density of the traffic wasn't too much of a concern for [b]Dimitri[/b], considering that the Russian president enjoyed rides in the public. After all, it was only proper for the leader of the proletariat revolution to understand who he was working with and fighting for, and being among them helped immensely in that regard.

After a brief security check at the gate, Dimitri and his precious pet monkey were brought to the presidential jet, a smaller model of the famous [i]Air Force One

 

Unheil - Russian jet

Unheil was able to take a little nap, and then they were at the jet. She was just a little reluctant to go on board...she had had a bad experience on landing once and had a hard time forgetting it, though it only happened once. She took comfort in the fact that her master was with her, and when they were on board, she settled down on his lap. She remained alert, though, and became a bit uneasy durring the takeoff. She saw a bowl of fruit nearby and walked over to it, taking an apple. She returned to Dimitri's lap and ate in peace.

When the lights dimmed, Ekaterina had let out an involuntary, albiet quiet gasp. But as soon as they had gone off, they'd come back on again. She looked around and found her gaze being brought to the bar, where there were quite a few drunks laughing there.

"I think we should talk to them." Ekaterina nodded towards the bar.

Ekaterina stood up, taking her drink with her. She sauntered over to the bar and sidled up next to one of the men. "Hello." she purred. "My name is Katyusha...this is my friend Johnny." she gestured towards John. "How are you doing?"

"Assuming you were to tell me that," Karolina replied to the curator, slightly irritated at how difficult it was to get information from him, "Then I'd say that Russia may pose a growing threat to the democracies of the world, and this meeting is a (possibly useless) attempt to stem the growing tide of communism. Am I close?"

Simulated Two-Star General Isaac L. Schriber

Entrance, General Assembly Hall, Geneva, Switzerland

The fact that they had metal detectors made Isaac feel both annoyed and pleased at the same time. Pleased with the fact that there were few chances being taken with security, yet annoyed at the fact he would most likely need to pass on his weapon.

Unless.

?Miss Peterson. Can you take my handgun until we get past this checkpoint.? Isaac was scarcely worried by the fact the woman would have a weapon, two in this case, and he would not. There was undoubtedly a member of team one to assist him in the vicinity of the metal detectors.

Drowsiness. That was the word that best described what was going through Dimitri at the time. The reading was enjoyable, but at the same time it aided the stress he had over the UN meeting in causing him to feel tired. As such, the book fell from his hands as he fell asleep in his chair. Unheil now had, for at least the next few moments, a free chance to run around the ship.

As he moved back to staring at his half-full drink, he passed out, crashing to the floor with a loud thud.[/color]

I'm willing to wager that his anxiety is over the possibility that the Russians could acquire some sort of super weapon that nobody would be able to stop... The security officer at the metal detector was getting impatient. "Sir, if you and the young lady wish to flirt, take it outside. If you're coming in, then MOVE IT!" With that attitude, it was a miracle he was at the greeting point.[/color]

[color=red][b][u]ANNOUNCEMENT[/u][/b]: Earlier, a vote was proposed to determine the fate of this RP after the trial edition was finished. Sadly, the participation in both the vote and the acutal RP has been down. As it stands, the vote itself is a 3-3 tie. Also, people who are actually still posting in this thread, I salute you and thank you for trying to keep it alive. However, it appears to be dwindling. If by the 25th of October there is not a drastic increase in participation, then I will shut this down and decide for myself which way it will go in the finalized edition.
