Dakai_Seraki: "Does anyone know where I can buy a wolfwood action fig (from the trigun anime) in either coquitlam or poco?"

I think I've seen one in one of the local stores in downtown Vancouver: Goldenage Collectibles. Check out the Jedi Holocron for the address and telehone information.

JediMaster_Skywalker:"I finally got my Kotobukiya Darth Vader!!!!"

That's great news Brian. That's a good find, and an amazing collector's piece. :D

Master Obi-Dan - The lightsaber that your looking for is pretty much sold out in all stores...and the prices for it on Ebay is ridiculous (always fluctuating). I'd give it a few more days before bidding on it on ebay. It usually settles down after a while, and this would be the time to make that bid.

Oh, and thanks for the updates Crazy_Mike!! :)

I concur, Antonio. ;) There was one up for sale last week; the last time I saw it, it had twelve bids on it and the highest bid was around $255 US. I see today that there are two others up for sale here and here: respectively going for $300 US and $192.50 US. Neither of them are being sold with the display case (something that I would definitely want to buy too). :(

Also, I was TRU Coquitlam this weekend (looking for 3 ¾ figures for my little brother), and I noticed that they had some SW on clearance. Specifically, they were selling [link=http://starwars.hasbro.com/toyshowcase/item.cfm?sku=84668]Luke & Leia - Swing to Freedom[/link] for $9.99 Cdn. down from $27.99 Cdn (and they had ten of them).

    Just a thought: ?[face_plain]

i've noticed our extreme distances from each other but we all have the same goal ( well at least in this division), to collect!! :D

i was wondering if we could use this great seperation to our advantage, i've noticed with Dakai_Seraki, me, and Master Obi_Dan we've been looking for various items but great deals or that particular item is always so far away,...

    -------------
    Examples:
me with those unleashed figures ( i still haven't gotten any since the jango, the only one i have in the series :()

    Dakai_Seraki: Gundams and Trigun

Master Obi_Dan: jedi starfighter (have you gotten that star fighter yet?)

    -------------

However, there have been sightings of most of these, unleashed in abotsford, lots of gundams in richmond, (i've seen trigun figures too, but i don't think i've seen that particular one yet),.. starfighter near my home....

?[face_plain] could we somehow arrange a trust system so that if someone found an item at their regular shopping places, they could perhaps pick it up for the person who wanted it? the item exchange could be made during one of our activities and the person could be paid back,... what do you guys think? i know this is pretty flawed, abuse is definitely possible,.. perhaps find a 3rd person moderator to prevent this? (sorta like ebay?)

BUT,.. this could enhance our purchase power and range by so much!!! :D :D

?could we somehow arrange a trust system so that if someone found an item at their regular shopping places, they could perhaps pick it up for the person who wanted it??

I?m definitely down for something like this; we just have to keep in mind that something like this demands a certain level of responsibility/honour. Hence, if you ask someone to grab you something, you have a responsibility to pay for it and cannot opt out after a purchase has been made on your behalf. ;) If everyone who is interested in participating can agree to this basic principle of honouring requests, I think we?d be good to G-O. ;)

?have you gotten that star fighter yet??

Not yet, unfortunately. But I do have to pick my parents up at the airport on Thursday; hence, I?ll be stopping by the Real Canadian Superstore on Marine beforehand. [face_wink]
Also, on eBay there are currently two [link=http://www.masterreplicas.com/starwars/ProductsVaderSaber.asp?sid=]Darth Vader LE Lightsabers[/link] up for auction at very reasonable prices. This particular item just sold out at MR; while 7500 units were produced in total (much higher than other production runs). The current bid on the one being sold with the display case is [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2164039026&category=37887]$152.50 US[/link] (regular $349.00 US), while the one one being sold without the display case is [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2163613749&category=154]$121.73 US[/link] (regular $299.00 US).

I'm all for this idea... but I believe we have to discuss this in more detail, and we also have to lay down the ground rules for this...'coz this could go in two different directions...

I've been doing some thinking regarding a possible collecting/exchange system,.. so here goes:

    1) Registration system

    - 1st thing i think we should do is have some kind of registration system.. ( i think this already exists)..

but to have official vancouver fan force members and to have these members attend at least one or two official public gatherings

---> this is to prevent complete strangers from simply throwing requests around and screwing us around
2) to have have two moderators,.. or mediators (terrible, terrible english)

    - when a request is made, the med,.. mod,.. let's call em moderators for now,.. the moderators need to note down the request

    - and for a person who does find it,.. he/she must consult the requester about the price and quality of the found product (or this can be made before hand with details of the request) ,.. once this is cleared and there is an agreement made between the two, consult a moderator and the moderator will post the arrangement on the boards so everyone can see what had transpired and there will be no dispute about what happened

    - for the finder of the product, make sure the reciept is kept to varify pricing

    - next is to make the transfer at an event, a moderator must be present to make sure that the transaction has been complete .. ALL DONE!!

    - i've mentioned the use of two moderators because from time to time one of the moderators may want to request something him/herself
3) for the finder and requester: a potential problem may occur when a finder may accidentally and unwillingly purchased rip offs,.. bootlegs.. of merchandise,.. be sure to inform the finder of such possibilites,.. or restrict the merchandise hunting to specific, well-known, trusted stores... try to be aware of any potential problems like this,.. perhaps look around, ask around,.. research a bit if this could be a problem
4) one last point would be to have a maximum price range,.. this .. i'm undecided currently, .. any input?
what'd you guys think? sorry for the extremem density of this message

Wow! [face_shocked] That was an awesome post, Brian! Thank you for putting so much time and thought into it. ;)

On the whole, I totally agree with the excellent points that you?ve made. ;) The one area that I would shy away from is from the idea of third-party moderators. It is a novel idea, but it may create a lot of paperwork and an extra encumbrance. In lieu of this, I think we could beef up your other excellent points to compensate for this and to offer reasonable safeguards. For example, your registration idea is a great concept ? perhaps we should start a new thread, and its author can update the initial post with information like who is looking for what, etc. Also, I totally agree with your idea about limiting purchases being made only on behalf of members who have attended a fixed number of Activities. In fact, I would even go further by saying that purchases can only be made on behalf of members who they have met before in-person. ;) In terms of your idea about only making legal purchases from reputable sources, I think that that is a definite must. Also, your idea about a maximum price cap is a definite must too, IMHO. In terms of what the cap should be set at, I?m not sure, but I think it being set at around $50-$100 Cdn. for the time being at least. :D

Hey, I?ve got some fantabulous news, guys! [face_grin] I was able to find and buy the Jedi Starfighter and the Obi-Wan Kenobi Pilot at Kids? Wonderland in Metrotown yesterday! [face_grin] You guys should have seen my little brother?s face when I gave it to him ? he was absolutely ecstatic. [face_wink]

    [image=http://starwars.hasbro.com/common/images/products/84874_imageMain100.jpg]

    3. Kids? Wonderland Metrotown: 3 ¾ inch figures ? Qui-Gon Jinn, Taun We, Count Dooku ? All were on sale for $9.99 (which is above average), down from $13.99; I?m not sure if it was a permament sale or not. [face_happy]

    Great find Chris!! :D

Hey guys, I hope to see you all in the Toy Show in Vancouver... if you need more details, check out our Division Events Thread, or send me a PM for anything else...

Oh, and Dan: I finally got my Stormtrooper Armor... it's unbelievable...it needs a few more things like boots and stuff, and a few adjustments (which I'm working on right now). I'm also installing laser sights for the blaster (which looks cool btw). But my Dad insists that I use a real gun's laser than that laser pointer thing teachers use; he may be right... :)

    Hey there guys,

I was just at the Toy Show... There were a lot of Star Wars items there. I also got some new contacts for our Jedi Holocron.

I also got a sweet deal with a Mace Windu and Yoda Kotobukiya Figure. The guy who was selling it didn't have enough shelf space, and since he removed the figures from the box (and lost the box at home), he gave it to me for $30!! :D

Wickeds! :D Congratulations, Antonio! I totally have to see your Stormtrooper armour. ;) And yes, I so agree with your Dad: a laser-sight on a blaster would be hella-cool.

I want to get a Star Wars toy. The only ones I have is: (in order of purchase)

Luke's Lightsaber thats 1 meter long, plastic, and makes sounds

Jango Fett: Dress up looking toy. Jet pack makes sounds. Really cool.

C-3PO 12 inch figure that came with a book: Tales of the Golden Droid (it's nice, my sis got it for my birthday).

I kinda like those UNLEASHED figures. I'd get the Jango Fett/Boba one but i already have a jango sitting on my desk. I'm wondering whether i should get the LUKE one or the OBI WAN one? If so, where would I get it?

I'm also into getting a ship/vehicle toy. Firespray and the Jedi Starfighter are my favorite. But I don't really like those jumbo playing ones (well maybe i do, but if there are others I'd prefer those). For those action fleet things, are they just plastic or die cast metal? Some of them look really cruddy (Republic Cruiser).

    So... any suggestions?

I agree that the UNLEASHED series is an excellent set. But those things are really hard to find in local stores.

I spoke with most toy store owners about the figures. They said that they already ordered different waves weeks ago, but they never arrived.

My guess is most big toy store companies ordered a huge bulk of these things, the thing is they only sell online.

The Star Wars Unleashed Figures have been released. But most of them are being sold online. I spoke with a few Toy Store owners, and they always gave me the same reply: They ordered them weeks ago, but they're still not coming in their store...

This may be due to the amount that online stores ordered them when they were released.

I'd say the best way to acquire them is buying them online. Check the Jedi Holocron for some links.

    Happy Hunting.
